Title: Omaha stars/tilt stake SOLD OUT
Post by: Fatcatstu on April 16, 2015, 12:26:29 PM
Afternoon lads and lasses,
I have decided to do a little Omaha schedule in the near future, and am looking to sell 100% of the action at no mark up for a 70/30 profit split in the backers favour.

Omaha is mainly my game nowadays, and I have had a bit of success playing the Omania on Stars in the past, I feel like I am really good value in these events, and am very confident of returning us some decent money.

The schedule is as follows:
15.05 - Omania $5.50
16.35 - $4.40 $500gt
19.05 - $3.30 rb 1.5kgt (3rb)
19.15 - $5.50 3 stack 6 max

Full tilt
15.20 - $5 $250gt plo
16.30 - $5 $600gt 6plo
18.30 - $5 $250gt 6plo
19.15 - $25 $1.5kgt PLO
total - $65.30

5 runs = $326.50

10% = 32.65
5% = 16.31

Looking to do 5 runs of the schedule to even out some of the variance and give us a better chance of making some moolah

If anyone would like some of this, post here.
Please note, i will need all monies transferring through Stars.
Looking to start this as soon as possible
Cheers,
Stu

right, busted the first 2, settled in, fed and ready to rock in the next ones, another 6 card one up at 6.30, then the 3.30rb and the 5.50 3 stack with the $25 on tilt last up for the night  LEGGOOOOOOOO

18.30 - $5 PLO 6 card $250 gt
Stack - 0
Average - who cares
Got it in on the turn in first level with the nuts, it wasnt the nuts by the river.

19.05 - $3.30rb PLO
Stack - 1.9k
Average - 4k
19.55 BREAK - Cant get going in this one at all, taken all rebuys now, 11 mins left of rebuy period, hopefully after that we can make some chips back as people settle down!

19.15 - 45 3 stack PLO
Stack - 8.9k
Average - 8.8k
19.55 - BREAK - Lovely structure to this, is playing deep at the minute, people loving to see flops at this stage, so not looking to get too involved in wars down the streets

19.15 - $25 PLO $1500gt
Stack - 4.9k
Average - 3.6k
20.41 - BUST - Got it in against someone who had a flush draw that he rivers. Standard stuff really. Annoying but standard

Maybe if that"s the way you want to look at it...but 2 outs...one of which is probably not live! Really?

A draw to the second nut flush with a (more than likely) one out draw to a straight flush.

You"d already been 3 bet so AA was very likely...and you have one of the other Aces.

You started off behind and stayed there.

Anyway, opinions vary.

On the flop? Stu flopped the 2nd nut flush, not a draw, if it was a 2nd nut flush draw on that board it would actually be a far easier get it in as it would widen his opponents range quite a bit and the straight draws would be live. Nasty spot anyway. I think the real question here is should we be calling the 3-bet OOP (it would be a very easy call in position) the hand looks good enough to do so to me and once you flop the second nuts and he bets the pot it is really hard to get away from. He can have a run down with a worse flush definitely in an online PLO. Not sure he bets so heavily on the flop with that mind you.

I flopped the flush!!! Flop is 10c 8c Qc

Not sure if Paulie is referring to the preflop call. You can only make the second nut flush which is true (and this can be trouble when the money goes in ect ect), however I feel your hand is just about good enough to go with even out of position.

Post by: Paulie_D on April 20, 2015, 20:54:18 PM
Opps...sorry the I didn"t get the Tc (not 10c) I misread it in the OP...

That said. Still the 2nd nuts and so non-nut and that should make you even more wary if anything, especially when the villain pots the flop....but again, opinions vary.

I have zero problems with the pre-flop call as, I feel, his hand is pretty polarised to Aces..probably suited and that re-inforces my point above.

I definitely put him on AAxx pre, do I think that this necessarily means he has the nut flush? no. I think it can mean he has the blocker to the nut flush and wants to put a shorter stack to the test, knowing he will still have 5k left if he calls and loses.

I have a hand that can flop well, and once i hit what is basically Gin for my hand I have no choice but to smack it in.

That was my thinking anyway :)

1/17 at break, just been moved table, which is really annoying as I had a good handle on how people were going to play!

got 145k, with 2nd back on 111k, so looking rosy for a good run barring any ridiculous mishaps!

Ended up 4th for $162, not a bad return, as we didnt use a rebuy and just took the addon!

Mildly disappointed to not get the lot, but the cards went against us at some vital times late on, and we ended up doing well to get as high as we did, even our exit hand, we flopped the world and missed twice, otherwise we cripple the guy above us and have a 2nd place stack.

Onto the next one, which will probably be tomorrow, definitely buoyed by the cash, it proves the poker gods dont completely hate me!

No luck in anything so far, quite the opposite infact.

The $25 on tilt appears to be a non runner tonight, so just the 2 left on stars.

Break time

$3.30rb - 9/153 with 5 mins left in late reg period

$5.50 triple stack - 13/86 still over 1 hour late reg in this one, so is going to be a slow burner.

Bust the $3.30rb after missing the nut flush draw and 2 straight draws, bit gut like i had another good run in meted as i really like that one and felt

19/110 in the 3xstack at the minute, just plodding along

ANd gone from the triple stack, Mr Chip Leader calls me my repot all in with his gutshot and gets there. Went in 63rd, so about 30 off the money. Irritated is not the word.

ITM $4.40 $500gt.

6/18 atm, expecting a few to drop now the bubble has burst.

Still in the $3.30rb, but treading water in that, cant seem to get going, coming up to the end  of the rebuy period

also in the triple stack, but only seemed to go backwards in that one so far!!
Title: Re: Omaha stars/tilt stake SOLD OUT

Gone in the 3.30, villain got there on the river v us to hit his flush, pretty standard.

Still in the triple stack, 29/111 at the minute, still age to go in the late reg in this one.

4/12 in the $4.40, need to get top 2 or 3 to get any decent money in this one, so will be pushing hard to get a big stack, will be death or glory!

And thats done for the night, jsut the one small cash, which takes us to $179 roughly winnings wise for the stake so far, I have 2 full cycles left, and also owe 2 omanias and a few of the  smaller gt PLO on tilt, so we have plenty of time left to get ourselves into profit!

As a few of the weekday $4.40 have been cancelled due to lack of runners, the one on a sunday is a multi entry, so i have taken 2 stacks instead of 1, hope this is OK, if it isnt I will drop it back to 1.

NO joy Im afraid, was running quite deep in 3 of them, and the villains in all 3 managed to hit flushes on the river to take me out, all for top 10 stacks as well.

It was one of them nights im afraid, just got slapped around by the poker gods.

I am going to have a total up and see what is left to play tomorrow.

The last one, triple stake on stars, what took him so long to call, did he not have the nuts and wasn"t it a Russian pro
Title: Re: Omaha stars/tilt stake SOLD OUT

Ah yeah, i think he was drawing to the nuts, but had nothing else with it, I had an overpair and 2NFD when I got it it, just felt like he didnt really have much to be calling off 3/4 of his stack with, but apparently he thought different!!

We have 1 more run of these left I think, so will have one more bqash at getting us into some decent profit today, it will only take alittle change in our luck and we can get some good money in!

OK, so we have the following left to mop up on as far as I can see.

Stars
Omania - 2 left to play
$5.50 3x Stack - 1 to play

Tilt
$250gt PLO x 1
$25 $1500gt PLO x1

Will mop these up and then we can see where we are :)

Just been speaking to Rodders.

What are peoples thoughts on NOT playing the $25 PLO on Tilt and having a few pops at the $3.30rb on stars a few times?

I seem to have done far better on the rb, and have never really got going in the Tilt one, which has a larger GT, but the overall prize pool tends to be less than the rb, which definitely feels soft to me.

If anyone has any objections let me know.

Total won now stands at $209.01, with $9 left in the stake to play with.

Having railed Stu a few times on this stake and at other times I am confident in saying he is +EV in this. I am not sure what he thinks about this (although I did briefly mention it to him) but I would suggest continuing this stake, dropping the $25 game. Basically get rid of any games you do not enjoy, maybe the 6 card games but up to you and focus on the rebuy and maybe the Omania. Depends if Stu wants to continue and the rest of the stakers are up for it. I am happy to assist with putting the schedule together and Team Viewer sessions when I can.

Ok, so in the words of Ger  "Don"t give a fek, go for it" which James concurs with, Brian is happy too.

Will have a chat with Rodders, and anyone else who fancies an input, about the schedule.

Personally feel best about playing the omanias and 3.30rbs. They are the ones I have felt most comfortable playing, and would prefer to keep it to Omaha, as that is where my skills are

Got a 6th or 7th in the $4.40 $400gt tonight, felt like I playted really well, and got it in massive for a pot that would have given me the chiplead with twice the chips of 2nd place. Win that and we are on for some decent money.

Have won a FPP satalite into the SCOOP PLO 6max L tonight, will play that for the stake, so that could give us the chance of a decent return. Regged a few smaller tournies to avoid the boredom of 1 tabling to go with the big one.

Its just north of $400 atm.

Have just regged a $2 sat to the SCOOP NL hi/lo and the $2.20rb starting shortly, so will see how they go!!

Feeling really good about my Omaha game at the minute, had Rodders railing me alot, and Ger did last night, always welcome feedback from people! Like i say though, cashed in 5 tournies in the last 2 days, just seem to get unlucky in the late stages, or there could easily be alot more money in the account than there is, and we are already in profit!

Just as info I have been railing Stu a fair bit and discussing hands in the process and the right strategy at different points in the game. I think it is fair to say that Stu is bossing it at the moment in these games, for now these are the ones to stick with as we have an edge against the field in these. Has not even run that well all things considered.

Great work mate, the fact you are enjoying the game at the moment makes a massive difference. Keep smashing them up. Now go an win that SCOOP

Would like to request that stake closed now pls and stakeback+share of profits returned.

Weve had no updates for nearly 2 weeks since an update was promised and no play for I guess over 6 weeks now.

Happy to sell shares if anyone else wants to buy.

How much is your share worth?

If Stu wants to stop then no worries, but dependent on how much it is, I would be interested.

Hard to work out Adam as at last bal check request didn"t get a specific amount!!.....just North of $400 was the quote(Page 6 fyi) so lets assume $420?

Based on $420 my calculation is as follows:
Stake Back-$326.50
Therefore Profit=$93.50
Backers Profit@70%=$65.45
I have 10% so Stake=$32.65 & Profit=$6.55 Giving Estimated Value of $39.20

Let me know if not worked that out correctly!!  Happy either way just would rather investment being put to use rather than sat somewhere doing nothing!!

Right, firstly apologies for the lack of updates, not really on and no excuses for it.

The stake is down to its last $20, I have been playing the agreed games and basically getting booted all over by variance. Rodders has railed me and watched on team viewer for a fair few of them, and I was playing very well, jsut getting butchered in pretty much every big hand, usually resulting in bubbling when winning the hand would have resulted in me being the massive chip leader in the tournament.

if people want their money taking out then that is fine, just let me know and i will ship it, or have one last go at getting us a win in.

Sorry again.

Stu

Are u for real?

I officially requested a cashout on 28th June and numerous update requests prior to this.......I would expect no play to be deducted from the stake once cashout has been requested especially when no updates on play have been made for nearly 2 months so any play can only be assumed to be off your own dime.

Please take any up any disputes off the forum.

PMs are available to you, might I suggest you use them.

Thks Paulie but may I ask why it needs to be off forum?........all dealings were done via the forum and requests etc made in the thread......I also emailed Stu and think PMd approx. 1wk ago asking for an update and advising that I wished to cash out with no reply.

In all other stakes on the forum the player 99% of the time states what play is occurring on specific night or at least what has occurred is stake money has been used for play......with no update as stated above for nearly 2mths it can only be assumed that own roll was being used.

Does it HAVE to be off-forum? No not necessarily.

However my experience of such things is it"s better for you two to work it out between yourselves rather than wash whatever dirty laundry and hard feelings might come up in public.

This is my opinion only of course because APAT has no involvement here.

Understand that but its not just my investment that"s been dusted off with no updates whatsoever!!

Fair enough if regular updates weren"t coming previously but we were always informed what was happening and then after requesting update and cashout suddenly told that the roll has gone!!

FWIW, I have received no emails OR PM"s from Myles on this issue, I will take this off the forum with him, unless he wants to continue on here, I am happy to do either.

I have admitted that the lack of updates was unacceptable, however other members of the stake were kept informed along the way through other methods, but I SHOULD have continued to use the forum.

I Resent the accusation of "dusting off" the stake, this has NOT been the case at all, and while I understand the frustration (which I share at the results) this is not what has happened. The money has been spent on the tournaments that I said that I would spend it on, and frankly, I was getting nearly 0 feedback from members of the stake anyhow, which seemed to say to me that no one was paying attention to them anyway!

I perhaps got complacent because of the fact that  other people in the stake had basially told me they were happy for me to just play, this was naive of me and obv wasnt the thoughts of Myles. Again, I totally accept responsibility for that.

I am willing to PM you about this, and others if they want me to.

Fyi email was sent on 11/7 to email address registered on Forum....gaizka14@hotmail.com or something like that & apologies I didn"t send PM but as per quote earlier said that I may have done.

Lets regress a bit......we had no play for x weeks and I asked for an update.....this was after you stated that the BR was "just North of $400".

You promised us an update within the next week after you returned from the festival.....this didn"t come.

After that there was still no update regarding play so one can only assume that none off the stake BR was being used as previously all play had been detailed.

Numerous update requests were made and still nothing so a cashout request was made instead....again no response so we can only assume again that no play was taking place from the stake BR.

You obviously follow the Forum comments so wouldn"t it have been an idea to let us know that you were playing and in fact losing(dusting off) the stake BR so a decision could have been made what to do?  Updates were made regularly beforehand detailing what had been played but then as soon as cashout request made they suddenly stop and the BR has gone?

Ah that explains the email, i havent used that address for years, must update that one!

I have repeatedly acknowledged the fact that I should have updated the thread regardless of the lack of responses from people in the stake, it honestly felt like people were happy for me to keep playing, so I did.

I have been particularly inactive on the forum, which is far from ideal when involved in a stake, which is why i didnt update the stake.

It was my suggestion and recommendation that Stu continue to play beyond the original staking proposal. This was clearly +EV for all involved (Stu"s OPR, Sharkscope and Hendon Mob are excellent and his game is MUCH better than people realise) and I can confirm from conversations with Stu as well as watching him playing a bit that there was no lack of effort or commitment on this and whilst he had a losing run (which is always liable to happen in MTT"s as we all know) he did play a game that long term was a good investment.

Also the issue with the games not being posted on here. I was always up date when I wanted to be (which was not that often tbh) as I asked what Stu was doing and was aware that the thread was not up to date I did not see it as a requirement either so did not worry about it in the least. Possibly my bad a little bit as I could have mentioned it, but I didn"t.

Just to put some perspective on this, I have just checked Sharkscope on Stu between 28th June (date of the cashout request) and now. In the agreed games Stu lost an additional $22.93 after the cash out request so the major issue is the lack of updates, Stu understands this and accepts it and has apologised for this. In my opinion can"t ask him to do much more. I see it as just a good bet that lost, won"t be the last time that happens to any of us.
