Title: GUKPT Leeds Friday 31/July - (SOLD OUT)
Post by: Zozzy on July 24, 2015, 08:56:15 AM
I will be playing the Main Event next week £550 buy-in. It is a 3-day tournament with £100k gtd.
I played this last year and reached day 3, finishing 13th / 228 for £1,650

Also last year at the same venue Leeds Westgate I played the 25/25 Series £220 tournament and Final tabled, so it seems to be a happy hunting ground for me  :)

My last tournament win was at Caesars Palace Las Vegas in February which had 34 entries.
Also in Feb I finished 15th of 1,062 runners in a Venetian Deepstack. The eventual winner was a bloke called Carlos Mortensen, never heard of him. We weren"t on the same table until two tables left so didn"t get to play much with him, but he seemed like a half decent player and there could be a bright future for him  :D

Anyway less of the name dropping and on to the stake
My Hendon Mob   -  http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event.php?a=r&n=278208

I am selling up to 35%
1% £5.80
2% £11.60
5% £29

As usual 1% goes to Apat

I am not going there with an attitude to make up the numbers, but with a genuine chance of winning.
Payment by bank transfer by midnight Wednesday 29th July
I will private message my bank details.

Good luck to all potential stakers
Craig

Disappointed not to finish in the money after getting a great table draw on Day two. I knew most of them, made up of mainly local players and qualifiers. This was in contrast to my difficult table on Day one which included at least two professional players and others that travel the gukpt circuit. I was mentally quite tired at the end of the first day, but at the same time really pleased with how well I played.

Summing up my Day two, I managed to win some pots early on that nobody else wanted, reaching 58k peak. The hand that crippled my stack was when I hit the nut straight on the turn against my opponent"s set of sixes. It became a big pot. Unfortunately the river 7 paired the board to make his full house.
I made a mini recovery with a couple of all ins with my short stack.
My exit hand was pushing sixteen bigs in late position with 88. The big stack called and I lost the flip.
