Chris Hall, Paul Garnham and Andrew Tracey are my undeducated picks for this one. Not that they"re uneducated, I meant me picking them wasn"t based on my vast knowledge of omaha or of the field, or of anything pretty much.

Good luck all!!

Welcome everyone, I"m glad to report that we are underway 2 minutes early at the Vic, with a full field of 70 runners.

The atmosphere is excellent here and the players seem genuinely excited about trying a different format for the first time on the APAT tour.

Kieran O"Leary has become our first casualty, hitting top two pair on the flop against Chris Webber.  Webber made the straight on the turn and the chips went in - with O"Leary having extra outs to make the nut flush.  Kieran failed to hit and we"re down to 69.

Alan Lake has just departed after his trip fives failed to hold up on a dangerous board.  It was always likely that non experienced Omaha players were going to chase their draws harder than might be expected and chips are beginning to move around a good deal under those circumstances.

Alan Lake responding to a video interview request.

Alan:  "No, I don"t want to talk about being one of the first out of an Omaha tournament"

APAT:  "But Alan, we can talk about the International Championship...."

Alan:  "I especially don"t want to talk about that, you should see the pm"s I"ve been receiving"

APAT:  "C"mon Alan, APAT members want to know what you"ve got to say...."

Alan:  "Have your people talk to my people"

I think he wants appearance beer.....

Play remains very tight in the final but blinds going up to 4000-8000 in 4 minutes will put pressure on the shorter stacks and force the action.

Can someone please tell Tom Feilding to muck 7c :3c: :3d: :3h: if he gets dealt it. Thanks.

Ha, thanks for the tip  :P

I had a really enjoyable day - I bought into the tourney after a few too many beers and this morning I found myself on the train to London hurriedly flicking through Super System II trying to work out what exactly a good hand looked like in this game they call Omaha.

I was aiming to make the top 50 (so I could say I"m amongst the top 50 best amateur omaha players in the world. That"s right, isn"t it??) so was happy to get as far as 13th and even then my exit was a bit miserable after I caught a guy bluffing preflop only to then not have quite enough chips to price him out and his holding of 64xx rivered a straight. (I think he might be the guy currently in heads up)

Thanks Des for once again organising a really good day of poker.

Thanks for all the kind words from everybody. Another great tournament from APAT - have come to expect it thanks to the hard work of Des and the rest of the team, and also the attitude of the other players.

Was amazed to have won it, had to get rather lucky making a terribly timed move with a far-too-small stack! Definitely better to be lucky than good... ;)

Good luck to everyone in the remaining tournaments!

This event appears to have been very popular and may be a candidate for full Championship status in Season Three.
