Post by: nosey-p on March 15, 2016, 08:27:54 AM
It"s that time of the year again. Now I don"t normally like to bet over the sticks but Cheltenham is different. These are my picks but wont necessary be backing all of them. The bookies are having there own battle again so lookout for some great offers around

1.30 Altior 4/1 (money back if loose)
2.10 Douvan (won"t be backing it)
2.50 Beg To Differ 14/1  (EW First 5)
3.30 The New One 6/1 (EW) with a little on My Tent (EW) 10/1
4.10 Vroum Voroum Mag 11/10, The Govaness 16/1 (EW)
4.50 Measureofmydreams 12/1 (EW), Local Show 16/1 (EW)
5.30 Javet 16/1 (EW) Thomas Brown 16/1 (EW)

So that"s my picks, what"s yours

ahhh Cheltenham, great racing stuffed full of shocks. Plenty amounts of anguish as the festival favourite you lumped on falls at the last.
This is a fantastic four days of top notch National Hunt racing.
Good luck Wayne, my fingers are crossed for you fella.

Broke even yesterday after a couple of cheeky late bets.

My day was summed up yesterday in the Fred Winter.

I"d backed Voix Du Reve and Campeador.  Coming up to the last, both were in a nice position and then they both fell at exactly the same time.  Gotta chuckle :)

best of luck Leigh, the 2.50 and 3.30 look the ones to oppose the favourites. 2.50 Road to Riches and 3.30 Cole Harden , Whisper and Saphir du Rheu can all give Thistlecrack a scare surely?

I"ve read a lot about issues with the ground for Thistlecrack.  Don"t know enough, other than to look elsewhere :)

action wise Thistlecrack looks to my eye that he"ll be inconvenienced by quicker ground which should help a few in the field get closer to him.
fingers crossed as I"ve laid Thistlecrack :)

2:10 - Great Field
2:50 - Long Dog

agreed Leigh the Gold Cup is competitive on paper this year. Djakadam or Cue Card imo but both have negatives so from a punting long term view I"m swerving the race this year.

Been laid up in bed the last couple off days, had the GG"s on but could not even be bothered to put a bet on. Think it could have saved me some money.
