Title: Grosvenor and APAT information Thread
Post by: Grosvenor Poker on May 10, 2016, 16:53:52 PM
Hi all,

Delighted that we have partnered with the best and friendliest poker association in the UK. This thread will be used to inform you of any value we would like to highlight, special offers and also get some feedback. This will not be used as a customer support thread, please go through our customer support team with any issues. We are aware of a lot of teething issues with our new software but hope to get these ironed out in the coming months.

At present we are running a "play your way" promotion that has seen VERY little activity so far. The first freeroll did not run due to low numbers so 13 players got immediate qualification to the £4,000 final (capped at 99 players).

All you have to do is play 25 hands of raked poker at stakes of .10/.20 or higher and you will qualify. The winner of the final will also win a signed photo of the England 1966 team and replica shirt.

get involved!

Goliath qualifers have started, 5 guaranteed seats to the 2016 Goliath at 21:00 tonight. £5 step tournament into that at 19:00. good luck, probably will be good value in the early sats.

Vegas, goliath and GUKPT sats are running, with heaps of value lately.

Good luck, Alex

Grosvenor are re-jigging their satellites for live events this week, so we should have APAT satellites up by the end of the week along with an £82 Newcastle holding tank.  Holding tanks for future events will follow shortly after that.

Registered for the Newcastle holding tank last week (total cost £82.50) then checked today and I had been unregistered and given the buy in back.

I have re joined the holding tank today (total cost £82).

Is this correct or am I going mad? (is it connected to the change in cost?)

If you register in the holding tank and then arrive late to the tournament, are you entered and then blinded away until you arrive?
If so, at what point are your chips removed from the table? or until they are all gone?

Yes that is correct... APAT/Grosvenor partnership buyins are £75+£7 going forward.

Hi Craig, yes that is correct... we have retained the system where the chips go into play even if you are late to arrive, and you will be blinded out... so your seat is guaranteed no matter what, and chips will NOT be removed at any stage... well, until you lose them ;)

Let"s hope not ;)

The guys at Grosvenor are working tirelessly to implement upgrades and improvements.  I really feel they are driving the network to get better, which is another reason why the partnership between Grosvenor and APAT is going to be a great one.

Fingers crossed these mobile and Mac solutions can get rolled out as hoped.  Can"t wait :)

Hi had same problem for 3 months.. I was running Vista and was told to upgrade to W10, so at my own expense i did a complete PC clear and brought W10.
Still wouldnt work after download i got script errors each time i uninstalled and re installed.
Called CS numerous times each time sending a screen shot of SE fro techs to look at, each time they never called back, very frustrating. I did have numerous talks with CS manager who was more helpful than most his name was Brian Trower so if you call prehaps ask to speak to him.
To cut a long story short the tech guys never called me back, so i called one last time to basically go ape poo and a lady CS rep suggested i uninstall and download Microsoft Silverlight first and the re install.. hey presto it worked.
Not promising anything as i know they are having software issues but give it a go.

Good luck Carl

Played in this, first 2K only had 30 runners, top 27 got paid and a seat in to the 4k. And that only had 44 runners but 14 was no shows so again only 30 runners with 27 getting paid. I managed to finish 7th for 200  ;D

I also played after seeing your post.

I got £10 first attempt, then £157 for second, won the next one for £220 and played dismally in the freeroll for a min cash of £20.

Got a nice little bankroll for the Vegas sats though..well pleased :D

Just have to avoid donking it all off on cash after a few shandies as I am prone to doing.

PS I love the anonymous tables :)

Hi Dillagaf07, please let me know the tournament and the time and i will look into this for you. We still seem to be having intermittent problems and can only apologise for the inconvenience. PM me your username and alias and i will see you are adequately compensated if the issue was a fault on our end.

If anyone is planning on playing a session in future please be ready to take a screenshot should this happen (and occurrences are low) to aid the proving process. We will get there and are committed to providing the best service we can to you guys!

Title: Re: Grosvenor and Apat 2016 information Thread

Hi Longbomb,

Goliath tickets can be transferred to other players. Contact customer service, ensure the player you are transferring to has a Grosvenor online account and an alias, you will need to provide your username and alias and theirs.

On that note there are 125 seats being given away from this Sunday, with daily massive satellites and plenty of value. You might need a few bullets to bring down the beast.

cheers, Alex

I won a superstack seat in a satellite last Sunday 17th and it auto regged me in the £150+20 holding tank. I couldn"t play this weekend but knew that before I entered the satellite and made sure that it didn"t say anywhere in the lobby for the sat or the holding tank that it was date specific. The holding tank has disappeared as has my entry. Could you advise where it is please? My alias is DJBigClub.

There has been quite a short period between the satellite tickets being issued and the start of the Goliath, and I haven"t had much opportunity to use them. I used some one night last week and some tonight, but I have some left and I don"t know if I"ll get a chance to use them this week.

1. When do the satellites end? The lobby shows them up to the 28th. Will there be more added beyond that date or do they stop once the live Day 1s begin?

2. My tickets have expiry dates of 7 Aug, 16 Oct and 29 Oct, which are after the Goliath. Can they be used for other non-Goliath satellites or tournaments?

Okay.

I think there"s a good chance that the satellites tickets won"t be any use after Thursday. I won"t be able to play tonight and probably not tomorrow either. If anyone wants them,  let me know.  I have two £30 tickets and one £5 one.

I still have one £30 and one £5 seat. Surprised if no-one wants free seats. Can still try to transfer to you if you want them. Whether you get them in time in uncertain, as Grovsenor hasn"t yet transferred the first seat despite two emails to them yesterday. Maybe they"re all on holiday, seeing as the link guy who posts on here hasn"t responded to my post since Monday.

Edit - they have transferred now, after a phone call. If someone wants one or both of the others, hopefully they will get moved to you in time.

Superstack operate a different satellite format to Grosvenor Live events. It does say in the description but can understand if it was not clear given how other satellites work. I have pm"d you and will sort out an entry to another superstack tournament.

Hi Simon,

Superstack operate a different satellite format to Grosvenor Live events. It does say in the description but can understand if it was not clear given how other satellites work. I have pm"d you and will sort out an entry to another superstack tournament.

regards, Alex

Thanks Alex

There"s a great new £5k Cash Game Profit Leaderboard with Grosvenor for the next month.

Can you make enough big calls, huge bluffs and tough folds to reign supreme? With an entire month to climb the rankings, you could grab the top prizes.

To earn your share you need to opt-in by registering in the Grosvenor poker software under the Freeroll tab “£5K PROFIT LEADERBOARD”. Click join to be part of the promotion (exactly as you would if registering for a tournament).

Opt-in Begins on 25th August and you have until 23rd September to join the party.

Just to add a little to this guys, we were aware that players with big bankrolls could come in and easily swoop the 1st prize of £1500 by playing 1 hand of 10/20 for example, so the qualifying levels for profit throughout the month are capped at €1/€2 blinds and below.

Just for information, if this promo had been running this month a player with just £525 profit playing mainly 50nl would have won £1500.....

Good luck and opt-in using the instructions above. This starts on September 1st and we would love to whack some money in some APATers accounts.

Don"t forget, to opt into the Cash Leaderboard promo for September, you need to register in the freeroll in the Grosvenor Poker Lobby.

Easy to do, just look under Tournaments >>> Freerolls

For it to count as a raked hand you have to contribute to the pot. Folding pre without putting chips in means that hand will not count towards your 500, but if you are playing 4 tables of 6 max you can do 500 in no time.

Leaderboard has been updated guys, regarding the raked hands, if you were to get into decent profit you could just crash out the raked hand requirement at microstakes......

Let us know if any APATers are doing well! Dont forget to optin by the 23rd September, otherwise you wont be eligible for a prize!

Do I have to play 500 raked hands after opt in, or 400 raked hands ?

Unfortunately after that I couldn"t log in to Grosvenor Poker due to a technical problem. So I was unable to complete the 500  :(

Hi Zozzy, we waved the hand requirement due to the login issue. We came to the conclusion this was the fairest way to payout the promo.

This month is already on the go by the way, easiest money online.....

Not getting any reply from emails to Gros. Support so will try here! :)

I have a £120 Goliath Ticket, it has an expiry date of 25/11/2016 though. Can it be extended to august 2017? There are no tournaments on the online client which I can use it for so getting frustrated as the days are counting down until it disappears!

I can answer that for you, Simon, as you"ll probably be waiting for a response from Grosvenor. I asked the same question on here several times, without answer, but I met the Grosvenor guys at the IPO last week and they said that all the tickets will be re-dated and can be used for next year"s Goliath.

I had my own problem with Online Grosvenor tonight (yet again) - got to heads-up in a PLO8 with a 92k v 22k advantage and the software shut down. It wasn"t my internet - everything else was fine. I logged back in straight away and I had been given second place. Seems impossible for someone to steal 92k at 1250/2500 in that time, so I don"t know what happened, but the situation shouldn"t have happened at all. There was £54 difference berween 1st and 2nd - emailed them to see if they will do the right thing, but I don"t hold much hope, if they bother to reply at all (which is another issue with them).

I"m tired of all the problems with Grosvenor"s online offering, and not just because of the inconvenience and lack of support - this is the second time that a failure in their software has cost me money. Hoping APAT changes partner next year.

Has anyone else had issues with logging on tonight? Tried to sign in at 6.45 only to find out my account had been suspended. I spoke to customer services who said it was because I hadn"t sent across proof of ID. Checked my emails and haven"t received any request for info whatsoever. I offered to send across my drivers license and utility bill there and then but the verification dept don"t work sundays and apparently customer services aren"t qualified to confirm a piece of paper. Asked politely to speak to a manager only to be put on hold by a lady for 10 minutes before line went dead.... thanks grosvenor, top way to ruin someones sunday night poker. Debating whether its now even worth playing the remaining games... #dummyoutthepram

Hi Trav,

I check this forum sporadically. Always go through customer service or ping my facebook account (alex grosvenor). I have credited these ticket. Just FYI, a lot of tickets we issue have a maximum consumption time of 100 days. This is purely internal and we will always re-issue.

All grosvenor tickets never expire. You have these now, any issues using, contact on the channels above preferably.

cheers, alex

Just checked this Simon, there was a 28+2 ticket that expired incorrectly, all other smaller tickets were used. There was also a £110 Goliath ticket that expired and was re-issued. I have re-issued the £30 ticket.

Dear Alex

Are you ****in joking me? Customer Services doesn"t reply to emails. Rory has told me before to send issues direct to him, which I have done, and still heard nothing back. You yourself said on 24 Jan that you would deal with this issue (which is just the latest of several) and did nothing about it til 12 March. Grosvenor Online"s customer support is a disgrace. Spend your time dealing with the customer issues (or improving your terrible software) instead of writing belated patronising messages.

Hi Trav, apologies, it was never my intention to be patronising, our new customer service headquarters is UK based and much better at dealing with any issues you might have. Rory left grosvenor in February and we have been stretched, hence why i suggested the customer service centre or my grosvenor alex facebook page (which is checked more regularly), definitely not my intention to treat you with anything but respect. We are trying to give as much value as possible to APAT members, both online and in-club, appreciate the feedback regarding the product, which has not suffered serious problems for some months now.

Hi guys, just to let anyone know the Goliath satellites are now ramping up, we expect decent overlays in the coming weeks. Super satellites are now running nightly, with a minimum of 10 seats guaranteed every night from tomorrow.

Remember you can win more than one ticket, you can transfer your ticket and tickets to events never expire with grosvenorpoker.com

Look forward to seeing a bunch of you there, we will be there in force with a chunky digital area by the smoking exit escalators and wish all APAT'ers the best of luck at what we hope will be the biggest Goliath yet.

They don't expire, it may drop from your online account, but Grosvenor will always have a record of the ticket being allocated to your account.

Shirley, I asked Des before last weekend's online games, and he said although they would not be on in time for that, it would be sorted before the next online weekend. (The Welsh Championship)

Hi guys, hope you are enjoying the site on all the platforms now, incase you missed it you can play on Windows, Mac, Mobile, Tablet and in-browser.

We have increased our satellite schedule recently and will be increasing it even further in the near future.

How are you guys finding the games? Soft/Tough? Anyone had any scores? Anyone managed to finish high on the cash game leaderboard? Be great to get your feedback.

cheers, Alex
