Having been stood at Table 4for the last half an hour or so, I can thankfully say that the coming together of the Stockton Massive at the table hasn"t caused too much chaos as of yet.
Stuart has yet to play a hand and has already removed himself for an outside break.
David (Pokerpops) Amos saw a few hands to the turn but no further.
Brian Harland being the only one to really get involved - his raise pre to 150 got called in seat 1 and 2 by Richard Nicoll and Andrew James.
All 3 check the Jh 4s Jc flop and Richard folds to Brian"s bet of 250 on the 8h turn.
Adrew flicks in 1k on the 10h river and Bri fairly swiftly calls and shows Ah 5h for the rivered nut flush. But Andrew turns over 4c 4h for the flopped full house and takes the pot.
-
Tom Clarke and Bill Sheppard have just had quite a tangle!
Tom 3 bet Bill pre flop and they both saw a Qs 10c 8d first over.
Bill bets 500 and Tom raises to 1700. Bill calls.
6h on the turn sees Bill bet 2k and Tom call.
Kc river and Bill bets out for another 2k and Tom makes the call.
Bill has Qd 9d
Tom has Kh Js and takes a pot of around 15k total.

In other news, Pokerpops flops a full house with 8d 3h (or similar dirt) after limping from the button...make of it what you will.

We have our first exit here at Grosvenor Casino in Newcastle - Scott Aspinall is the first man down.
-
Some more exits at Level 3:
David Crawford

Ryan Pearson
Gerard Conway
-
With 10 minutes left of Level 3, John Young departs.
Blinds currently 75/150.
-
Daniel Patterson latest to the rail.
-
Robbie Nixon is the latest to be busted from the tournament.

After a wander around the room, I can report that...there is very little to report! John Murray lost around 8k chasing a straight and a flush and missing both.
Stuart Ward managed to play a few hands but hasn"t managed to win any yet.
JP Round has been contending with "interesting" play from an active local regular on his table.
Other than that, with the first break, and end of the late registration period, fast approaching, there is little going on.
-
Keith Ridley and Emma Fullarton are the latest players to leave the tournament with 15 minutes left until the first break.
-
Bob Gibson is the next to exit.

Other than that, with the first break, and end of the late registration period, fast approaching, there is little going on are chips and cards flying all over the place with an incredible amount of flurry and excitement.
Better?

-
George Dickson has just handed his player card in, he is now on the rail.

Interesting hand on Table 4, apparently pretty standard for the players involved:
With blinds at 200/400, Pokerpops makes it 800 to go from under the gun plus one.
Trevor Haddick in seat 7 makes the call and Alan Carr, in seat 10, makes it 2700 to go.
Pops re-examines his cards and folds. Trevor happily throws the extra chips in.
After the 5c 3s Ad flop, Trevor checks and Alan makes it another 2700. Trevor calls.
They both check the 2s turn and Trevor checks again on the 7c river.
Alan checks and sees Trevor turn over Ks 5s. Alan mucks his hand and says "I had the better hand pre-flop then"
Trevor takes the chips.
Trevor Haddick (left) and Alan Carr...

Well! Things got a bit crazy over on John Murray"s table just now.
John makes it 1400 from 400. Craig Dawson, in the seat next to John, casually makes it 4k.
Anthony Stephenson moves all in for just short of 9k.
John re raises all in for ever so slightly more and Craig flicks in a chip to indicate a call!
All three go on their backs...
Craig shows Kc Kh
John has Ad Ah
Anthony turns over Ks Qc and admits "I didn"t believe either of you!"
The flop... 9c Qd Qs and Anthony takes the lead with two cards to come...
A s on the turn and it all changes again! John reclaims the lead and is miles ahead with one card to come.
2d as an anti-climax on the river means we lose Anthony from the tournament, Craig loses a fair chunk and John almost triples up.
Mr Murray and Mr Dawson...

Pokerpops suffers two fairly damaging hands in quick succession:
With the pot at around 5k and 8h 6s 5h Js in the middle, Alan Carr checks to Pops who bets 2400 and is called.
The river of the Kc precedes a 5.7k bet from Alan and Pops thinks and makes the call.
Alan turns over Ks 5c
Pops has a wry chortle and mucks.
Not long after and Pops makes an opening bet from early position. It folds round to Andrew James who pushes all in for around 8k.
Pops makes the call and shows Ks Js
Andrew has Ad A s
Pops hits his king but is left behind by the river and Andrew doubles up.
Pops down to around starting stack... but still there... it"s a sign Pops.... roll on Vegas!

The remaining 27 players kicked off just over 15 minutes ago. They returned with around ten minutes left of level 9, blinds at 400/800 with a running ante of 100, average stack 43,300.
Bill Sheppard, sat on around 14k, gets into a raising war pre flop with Craig Simpson resulting in Bill moving all in and Craig snap calling.
With Bill at risk, the players flip their cards - Craig has Qh Qd and Bill has Ah Js
The board runs out 3h 6h 3d 4d 7s and Bill is sent to the rail in 27th place muttering "no patience!" under his breath.

26 left with top 9 getting paid.

It"s a funny game...
Brian Harland and Craig Simpson get to it and Brian ends up all in for 14k
Craig has Ad 10h
Bri has Ac 7h and is at risk and needing to improve.
6c 6s Ks flop is not much help.
Qd on the turn and Bri stands up from his chair...
8s on the river and Bri starts shaking hands as he prepares to depart...Craig begins to rake in the chips...
A small voice from the other side of the table just says "it"s a chop"
The dealer isolates the 6c 6s Ks Qd and both players" Ac / Ad and Bri sits back down and Craig reluctantly gives back the chips! Chop it up!

On table 3 Keith Foster ships all in on a Board 9h Jc Ac and is called by Michael Dickson, Keith flipping over Ah Jd and Michael totally dominated showing A s 10s.
Turn of Js seals it, with 8c River and Michael is reduced to a short stack.
Next hand it is folded around to Michael in the cut off and he folds.
-
Michael Dickson and Joseph O"Donnell are the next two to have it out.
Michael shipped for 3.4k following a beat in a previous hand, he has 7s 9h
Joseph shows Jh Jd
2d Qc 3d Ad 9d and Joseph, ahead all the way, makes a flush on the river to further improve and send Michael to the rail in 26th.

Table 1 we see Brian Harland involved in another hand, this time all in pre flop holding Ah Jd, against Steve Bradbury with Kd Ks (all in) and James Edwards (chips behind) showing 9c 9h.
Flop runs out 7d 7h Qh, Turn 2h gives Brian many more outs but 6s River sends him to the rail in 25th place, with Steve Bradbury getting a triple up to circa 50k, with blinds 500/1000(100).

While this was happening, I was stood at Table 3 -
The board has run out Kh Jc 9d Js 10d and there is over 40k in the middle already.
Craig Dawson, first to act, moves all in for 56.9k
Troy Rutherford goes deep into the think tank...he sits for around 5 minutes, playing with chips, talking to himself, trying to work it out - the pot is now over 90k.
Eventually, he looks at his cards and says "I"ll wait for a better time" and folds.
Craig, hoping to ease him a little, shows the Jh 9c for the full house and Troy says he had aces.
Craig now on over 90k.
-
It gets busy on Table 2.
Stu Costa is all in pre-flop holding A s 3s again John Murray with Ac Qc and John dodges the outs on a Board Kc 5c Js 4h 5s and doubles up and knocks out Stu in 24th spot - David Amos telling John "I would have won that with my K"... John asking "was there a K on the Board, I was only looking for a 3".
David Amos ships it all in next hand and gets it through, showing 10 6 off.
David again ships it all in (12.4k) pre-flop, this time getting called by Alan Carr who is set immediately to David"s right. David flips 10d 10c and Alan Ac 7c and hits nothing on a Board Jh Jc 3s 9s 4h and David doubles up.
Next hand Alan is all in pre-flop for 10.6k holding Ac 8c and is called by Alan Kirton with 9h 9s... Board 5h Kh 10c Ad 7s and Alan doubles up.
-
Pokerpops gets the double up from Alan Carr - Pops holding pocket 10"s and Alan Ac 7s
Feeling rather crippled after this hand, Alan moves all in pre flop with his Ac 10d and is called by Alan Kirton holding Ad Kc
4d 6s 9s 5c 5d no chop and Alan Carr is sent to the rail in 23rd.

We join the table with cards on their backs -
6s 6c for Robert Mercer, he is the player at risk.
Ah A s for Andrew James
7h Qd Kd Jh 9s
Robert is out in 22nd place.

On Table 1 Craig Simpson gets a Double Up when his Qc Qh holds up against the 10c 10d of Paul Herbertson, leaving Paul with 26k behind.
Over on Table 3 it goes to the River with Jh Jc 9h Jd 8c Board and David Evens is all in holding Ah 8h for the low end of the Full House, only for Ali Ahmed to show A s Js for Quads and we lose David in 21st spot.

Del Watson, a prizewinning entry from Live Pub Poker League, ships it all in for 19.9k and is immediately called by John Murray (plenty of chips behind)...
Del shows 8s 8c
John A s Kh
9c 5c 2c 7c 10d
Del doubles up to circa 40k
-
Steve Bradbury and Craig Dawson are heads up in a hand.
The board so far is 10c 9s Qc
Steve bets 5.1k and Craig asks how much he has behind - around 20k. Craig calls.
The turn card A s gets a check from both players and Steve checks the river blind.
Craig sees the Jc and moves all in - he has Steve covered easily.
Steve groans...he did not want that.
He reluctantly makes the call and his groan is justified as Craig shows 5c 9c for the flush. Steve shows the 8h for the straight and is out in 18th place.

Not long after and Keith Forster makes his move and announces all in.
He is called by Craig Dawson, with plenty behind, and Keith states "wrong time to make a move then?" and shows 5s 9h
Craig has Ac Jc
6c 5c Ks on the flop and Keith takes the lead.
But the Js on the turn means Craig regains the lead and Keith needs to improve to survive...
4d on the river sends Keith to the rail and Craig adds even more to his stack.

On a board of 9s 2h 3c A s Derek Watson and John Murray get going.
Derek ends up all in with John comfortably making the call.
Del has Ac Ks
John has Ad 3d and is ahead with two pair.
John starts listing the cards he doesn"t want to see...
The Jh is not one of them and he wins the hand sending Del to the rail in 16th place.

Another raising war pre flop leads to Ali Ahmed moving all in and Tom Clark calling.
Tom is the player at risk and shows A s Kc
Ali has Qh Qs
2d 5c 6h 6s 3d
Tom does not improve and he is out in 15th place.... and jumps into the live Vegas Satellite...

Action on Table 1 when Ali Ahmed bets 15.8k on a Board Qh 3h Jd 5d 7c and Craig Dawson takes a while.. then folds as he expect Ali is ahead... as always.
James Edwards gets a few All In pre-flop through with his short stack, David Amos picks up some chips...
Ali Ahmed with plenty of chips bets 6k with Ad 6d Jc on the Board, and Craig Simpson ships all in and Ali calls...
Craig shows A s 6s for 2 pair... Ali holding Ac Ks... Board completes with Qc 7h and Craig doubles up...
-
As we approach the first break of the day, over on Table 2 we have a Board Qc 4h 2s 10d 6s and Alan Kirton is on the Button and All In... Iain Ayre gets out of the way and John Murray calls.. saying you may have the same hand as me as he flips over 5h 3d... and Alan flips 5s 3h... split pot

In an intersting (but important) side note, a win today would propel John Murray back to the top of the APAT All*Stars rankings.
On points earned today (if he cashes), James Edwards will leapfrog Warren Jones to become all time #5. He could go joint #4 if he wins the event.

Pokerpops makes it 4.5k to go.
James Edwards re raises all in for 22.9k total.
Pops thinks for a minute and puts in the extra chips to make the call.
James groans as Pops flips 8h 8s as he shows 7h 7d
6h 5h Qh Ks 5s
And James does not improve and busts in 14th place.

Kevin Simpson and James Lowrey do a chip swap two hands in a row:
In the first hand, Kev has James covered by not very many.
Kev has Kc Jc
James has Ad Qs
James is on his feet by the turn as the cards come Kh 3s 9d 7d but sits back down when the river Ah falls.
The next hand and Kev is at risk this time, he has Kd Jh and James has 6c 9c
10d 2d 7d Qs Jd and Kev makes the flush to claim back at least some of his chips.
Kevin (left) and James in action...

Pokerpops manages to questionably wrangle some chips from Ali Ahmed...
It folds to Pops in the small blind and he makes the call. Ali checks.
Pops checks the 6d Ks 10c flop.
Ali goes to bet 2.5k but the way the chips fall he is forced to bet 3k. Pops raises to 8.7k and Ali calls.
They both check the Kc on the turn.
Ac on the river sees Pops lead out for 12.9k and Ali quickly make the call.
Pops announces "flush" and shows 3c 5c "I kinda backed into that one..."
Ali mucks and chuckles.

he looks thoroughly delighted to be playing
-
Craig Simpson having a great run at the moment.
With a raise to 9k pre from Craig Dawson, Simpson makes the call.
10d Ah Qs flop and Dawson leads out for 18k and Simpson counts it out and makes the call.
The turn is the 7h and Dawson bets out but is quickly re raised all in by Simpson and even more quickly makes the call, all the chips go in. It is Simpson at risk but he triumphantly tables his Ks Jc and is massively ahead of Dawson who has Qd 10s
The river is Ad and Simpson takes down a pot worth around 180k.
Dawson down to around 17k.
-
And it is not long until Craig Simpson is chip grabbing again!

Even better if you satellite in for £11, or less.

I just find that unbelievable. Thought there would have been loads more, even local players

Started with 6... A couple of latecomers so 8 runners in total. We are currently three handed with Matthew Ward (who did satellite in for £11) Stu Ward and a local player.
Stacks relatively even
-
120k in play.
Matthew around 70k
The other 50k evenly split between Stu and the local player Paul Herbertson
-
Paul doubles through Matthew to around 40k
-
Paul knocks out Stuart 7c 7d holding against A s 10d AIPF
HEADS UP between Matthew and Paul. Stacks quite similar
-
Great updates, thanks JP :)

Because apparently Paul is the single luckiest person alive!

Great updates, thanks JP :)
Cheeky sod! ;)
I was several pints deep and thought basic updates were better than no updates. The main had finished and Tom & Lucy were taking a well earned dinner break.

Nothing cheeky about it. Appreciated an update on who was bagging a £1500 Vegas Package, especially as there were plenty of APAT "names" in the mix.

Great to be back playing APAT poker
Big thanks to Tom and Lucy this weekend along with the staff at Newcastle G - a well run card room with excellent dealers and a top casino overall
-
A really good weekend and good venue. Great work by Tom and Lucy over the course of the two days and the Vegas package game yesterday was especially good fun. Luton the next one for me then it"s a 6 month sabbatical until Edinburgh :(

I believe you when you said you appreciated them :)
I was less convinced when you said they were great ;)

A correction to the above result, in that Carl did indeed have the second placed finisher in the event, and with that result added in - Carl scoops first place from Ross, with Debbie moving down to 11th. As Matt has relinquished his prize, Debbie will retain her voucher after all. We move to Hendon Mob updates for the WSOP so a spelling error should not be a factor going forward. Apologies for any inconvenience, particularly to Ross. The final top ten was as follows:-
Carl Pilgrim £318
Ross Freeman £185
Rob Swindells £85
Graeme Morl £78
Matt Dale £60
Mark Rowbottom £58
Dave Paxton £58
Charlie Press £58
Suzanne Hayward £58
