Nigel Macdonald has called Oliver"s 4 bet all in shove and has shown A s Kh
Oliver is behind holding Ac Jh

7s Ks Qd 3d Ad

And Oliver follows Liam to the rail.

Have the casino not provided a wifi link, Matt?

They have provided the general casino WiFi, Des. However, that"s not fast enough to stream from. (we have a useable 480p workaround though and are broadcasting from that).

Meanwhile, Guy Gullen has made it 2.7k to go.

James Orchard re-raises all in for around 13k.

Darren Coleman, in the big blind, calls the 13k.

It is back on Guy and he re-raises all in for over 40k...

Darren makes the call!

James has Jc Js and is at risk to both players.
Guy has Kc Ks and is at risk to Darren
And they have both found Darren, in the big blind, holding A s Ac

4c 6d 10s 9s 7s no sweat, just poker. Darren takes the lot and sends James and Guy to the rail.

Steve Redfern makes it 2.5k to call
Tristan Chaplin calls and Paul Rice moves all in over the top for 17.7k.

Steve folds and Tristan makes the call.

"sigh, I thought I"d have diamonds at least." says Tristan as he turns over his 9d 10d only to be faced with Paul"s Ad 3d

4s Qs 7d 4h Kd

Paul gets a nice double up.

Dean Saunders and Sabah Aris exit quietly.

Meanwhile, Steve Redfern has re-raised, Paul Rice"s raise, all in for over 60k.

Steve has got it into his head that Paul is pretty much all in and committed so, as the blinds fold out of the way and it gets back round to Paul, he goes to flip his cards.
The floor is called as Paul hadn"t called or folded and was still to act.
The ruling is that, as the cards were exposed when they were partially flipped, that Steve must fully expose his cards...

He shows 5c 5d
"It"d be a race..." says Paul and after a few back and forth discussions between them, Paul makes the call and shows Ac 8c

Jh 4s Ks 6d 10s and, in Redfern style, Steve is "fastest" and wins the race.

He has Paul covered so Paul is out of the tournament.

Gavin Priestly is the latest to exit to bring us to 41 players remaining.

According to Richard Rudling-Smith this hand was "vomit inducing"...

Rais Khan raises to 10.7k
Joseph Keegans goes over the top all in for around 20k
Rais makes the call.

Rais has... 10 7 off suit.
Joseph shows Queens.

Exact cards unknown but, end result: Rais rivered a straight to send Joseph to the rail.

More news for Alan Vinnicombe fans:

Alan is aiming to hit 100 final tables this year. He"s currently on 73. Can he make it 74 today? He"s on 50k at the mo (average stack 74k).

Alan plays 5 nights a week at the excellent Rainbow Casino in Bristol. Average field size per tourney is 50 players on a week night, meaning his has to final table 2 tourneys a week. That"s no mean feat!

Not long after and we see Michael Gale raise it to 8k
Jason Kemp moves all in for 27.8k
Alan Vinnicombe re raises all in for 30.5k
Michael thinks for a while but folds (Jacks, he tells me)

Alan says to Jason "You have nothing, right?"

Jason says "no" and tables Qc Qd

"oh" says Alan and shows 10h 10c

Both players stand and ready themselves for exiting...

3h 10d 8h and Jason is not happy as Alan takes the lead and puts Jason at risk and behind.

4s turn and 3d river, no help for Jason and he is bust!

Tom Clark makes the move from the button, all in.

MarK Morris looks at his cards and flicks a chip in to make the call.

Tom has Mark covered.

Mark has Jc 9c
Tom has Kh 4h

As Kd Qs flop puts Tom out in front but gives Mark options.

and the 10d turn is one of them.

The 6h river means no chop and Mark doubles his 33k stack plus blinds to around 70k

Richard Evans and Nigel Macdonald get them all in pre flop.

Nigel has 20.6k and has 7h Qc
Richard has him covered and has Kd 10s

Qd 3d 9s and Nigel takes the lead and can see a double up...
But the Kc turn re swings it and Richard is now set to eliminate Nigel..

Alan Vinnicombe"s exit was incredibly rapid...

The details I can gather are that Alan hit his backdoor flush but Keith Thomas hit his full house and Alan was out.

David Reed and Gareth Brideaux have cards on their backs.

It is David with all his chips in the middle and he has Ad Qc
Gareth has Js Jc

Ks 8s As flop puts David ahead but gives Gareth the flush draw...

Qs turn means Gareth gets his flush and the 3c river marks David"s exit from the tournament.

On a flop of 10d 8d Qs Dave Kingswell pushes 103k into the middle and is all in.

Richard Evans smells a flush draw and calls with Kc Qh
He is confirmed correct when Dave turns over Qd 9d for a straight and flush draw.

7c river and Dave is out of the tournament in 19th place.

Keith has Jason covered and is holding Ah Kc
Jason has Ad Jc and needs to improve to survive.

That"s us done for another event!

All that remains is to say a big thank you to the casino, and the staff! Big thanks also to Lucy for her excellent updates throughout, and to Leigh for the live stream wizardry. Thanks to Grosvenor Casinos for allowing us to host and also for their sponsorship. Without which we could not run the tour.

Most of all though, thanks to all the players who made this our most successful (numbers wise anyway) trip to Wales for a few years. We"ll be back!

Until next time. Look after yourselves and each other.

David Griffiths (now a double Vegas Package Winner*)

Full Results:

1. David Griffiths. £1,500 Destination Vegas Package (*David also won the package in Luton!).
2. Oliver Clark. £300
3. Liam Alcock. £200
4. Jason Kemp. £200
5. Aziz Raghad. £200
First of all congratulations to the winners of both events and all those that cashed. But was has happened here ? I was playing for a first or 2nd finish as these were the prizes shown on the screen in the casino. First prize Vegas package 2nd £900 is what was displayed. I was very surprised when I saw it was paying down to fifth as in the caption above. Not complaining just interested to know how this happened as it would have made a difference to the way I went about playing the final table. If anyone could shed any light I would be obliged, cheers.

There was a deal 5-handed. No deals are allowed for APAT Main Events, but they are allowed in Side Events.

Oh ok Matt, that"s great thanks. You may wish to amend the opening post of this thread then, because it clearly states no deals facilitated for this event which is why I was perplexed.

As one of the 5 involved in the deal I can relay exactly what happened.

I personally wasn't thinking about a deal but one of the locals who had not played an APAT before asked about a deal on the £900.

As it was a side event I wasn't sure so I went to ask Tom and his ruling was that the “Package” must be won and could not be dealt for in any way, but he was happy for us to divide up the extra £900 cash as we wished.

As one or more of the remaining players had won a satellite for £12 to get in and some like me had paid £157 by having the add on we all felt it was sensible to smooth out the cash.

Sometime after the deal was agreed one or two had second thoughts as play progressed and people busted but that's the way of these things.

Personally I think that the fact that 4 players got at least their buy in back and a bit of profit is good for the game as it means they may be more inclined to enter another one.

Ok, thanks for the inside story, I guess there is no more to be said, as clearly a deal was arrived at despite the opening post of the thread stating they were not allowed, not happy about it because I played some marginal hands that I never would have played if I was just trying to get to the stage where i could do a deal, so good luck to you all, lesson learned by me don"t read the rules :)

We each play to our own way, but for me I don"t play a comp costing £82 or in my case £157 to try and min cash for £200 I was playing for the win the whole way both before and after the deal.  So you playing marginal hands is the right way in my view.

This is the point, you were playing for the win as was I, however there were people playing to get to the stage where they could do a deal (as clearly someone asked for a deal at some point), and that was at the forefront of their thinking not winning, that would be an added bonus to them. I like you invested £157 in this event so we both stood to win or lose the same, had I known at the start of the tournament that deals would be allowed then I would have no complaints. I read the player briefing and it"s says no deals, it is black & white to me.

I doubt anybody played with a view to winning £200. But I"m fairly sure that if I were one of the last five I"d change my views on the payouts.
With a substantial gap between the "place money" and the first prize I think each of the five would still be "playing for the win".
I don"t like deals generally, bubble payments in normal tournaments are anathema to me, but this is a different situation and dynamic.
I think in this case rejecting the deal would be an error.

Hi Don, my apologies as on reading back we weren"t very  clear on this in the player briefing:

QUOTE
Each event prize pool breakdown will be confirmed at the venue after the event has closed for further entries.  An example of the default APAT prize structure can be found HERE.  APAT do NOT facilitate deals for Championship Main Events nor where Vegas 2017 Packages are on offer.
UNQUOTE

This was meant to be clear that there was no room for deals regarding any "Vegas package", but any cash element would be open for discussion between the players as APAT have allowed for a while now.

Obviously it is not written clearly and for that I apologise and will make sure it is cleared up for future events.

Tom

Can"t disagree with the luckbox comment I"ve run insanely well at Luton and yesterday. We all know we need to win a few flips to win but if I"m honest I very luckily won a huge pot v Liam when we were 3 handed that ultimately decided who won the seat.

I got my chips in bad and hit a runner runner flush that was so filthy it made me feel dirty.

I"ll take it though I"ve been on the receiving end of far worse over the years.  :)

Sorry you feel it"s a bit off Jason, of course no one has ever heard you complain ! At the point in the conversation that I made that comment I did not know the circumstances of what had gone on, as they became clear to me I feel that making a complaint because the rules had been broken was a justifiable thing to do.

Tom has now made clear the situation regarding when deals can & can"t be done, so a similar situation will not arise in the future, I could have said nothing and let someone else find out later in the season, so surely I have done the players a favour by raising the point, it certainly won"t be happening to me again.
