It takes less than 3 minutes to lose our first player!

Short stack, Declan O"Connol moves all in with 7d 8d and is called by Thomas Kammarinke with Ad 9s

Pretty flat board of Jc Qd 2h 4s 9d and Declan is out.

Another bust not two minutes later!

Cedric Berden goes all in with pockets 10"s and is looked up by Danny Opthof holding Ad Ks

The ace on the river sends Cedric to the rail.

Down to 36, 5 more won"t get paid...

Dropping quickly in this first level of day 2.

Sandy Drennan commits all of his chips pre flop wth 9d 9s

Paul Prunity has Ac Kh and makes the call for most of his stack.

Safe flop for Sandy Js 8c 8s

Nice 2h on the turn and he is set for the double up...

But, as so often seems to happen, the Kd on the river sends Sandy home, 4 before the payout.

Sandy DRENNAN

Christopher HOLZEL gets his short stack in holding Ad Jc and is called by Raf JANS pocket 5s 5d, and with a 5h on Flop and Jh, Christopher doesn"t improve further and he departs in 35th spot.

Raf increases his stack to circa 1.4m

Big hand!

Filippo Puzzo moves his last 86k across the line in early position.

David Meighan makes the call and, after some debate, Michael Sheriff (our chip leader at the start of the day) also makes the call.

Three handed to the flop, live betting still between David and Michael.

They both check to the river 3h 6h 8s Kc 10h

David checks and Michael leads out for 75k

David takes his time and decides to make the call.

David has Qc Qh
Filippo shows 8d 8h
Michael scoops the lot holding kh kd

Filippo is sent to the rail and David takes a big hit.

Michael now in a very favourable position but still 33 players left fighting it out...

Wim Van Dijk makes the move from very early position but with only around 25k

Thomas Kammerlinke makes the call from a decent stack.

Wim has Qc 9c
Thomas has Ad 8s

9h first card out! Can he avoid the Ace for the double?

Kd 3s 2s Jc

Wim doubles up - he and Thomas celebrate together

Ryan McGrath raises all in for around 150k on a turn of Jc 7d Qc Kd

Edward Kelly had bet 75k into a pot of around 190k and now sits to make his decision...

He makes the call and Ryan shows Jh Jd
Edward has 9s 10s and is ahead and has Ryan covered.

Ryan needs the board to pair...2h on the river is no good and he is out in 33rd place.

In the madness of players busting and breaking tables the bubble has burst!!

Unfortunately, no details but Daan Hammer is Irish Amateur Poker Championship 2016 bubble boy.

Congratulations to the 31 remaining players

Timmy Passenier moves all in for 60k and is called by Emmet Davies.

Timmy"s 7h 7s needing to avoid being swamped by Emmet"s Qh Jd

Ad 5s Kh flop and more outs for Emmet but Timmy still ahead...

Jh and Emmet takes the lead

3h river and Timmy finishes in 31st place for €235.

Andy Hall raises to 21k and is re raised all in by Kevin Duffy

Andy makes the call with the smaller stack.

Kevin has Ac Ks
Andy Kh Kc

8h Jc A s sees Andy go behind and need the case king to remain at the table

7h turn, no good - Andy calls for the flush draw... :)

8c river and Andy finishes in 30th for €235.

Francis flips over Qc Qh and Tommy shows Kc Qs

Flop 2c 8h 3h

Turn 2d

IPO side bar:

Day 3 of the IPO has just gotten underway alongside the APAT day 2.

Dane Tallen, second in chips at the start of today"s play, placed in a World Championship of Amateur Poker Event in 2013.

Lewis Mason is a regular LPPL player and he starts day 3 with a decent stack.

As does Belgium APAT face Joachim Walleart.

Several of our well known faces and names had a good run this year, including cashes so far for Rob Davies, Ady Rushton, Jonny Nixon, Hedley Goddard and Ben Murray.

Good luck to all the remaining players but, especially our own.

Raf Jans raises to 25k from early position.

Hendrik Blokdijk makes the call in mid position.

After a few cosidered folds, Erwin Boots, in the big blind, moves all in.

He is quickly re raised all in by Raf and Hendrik also makes a quick call.

Raf has A s Kd and has both players covered.
Hendrik has Qd Qs and is at risk to Raf but has Erwin covered.
Erwin has 10h 10d and is behind and at risk.

Kh 2h 3h flop changes everything! Raf takes the lead as he pairs his king. Erwin picks up the only flush draw and Hendrik is sudddenly a massive favourite to be hitting the rail!

2d on the turn changes nothing (does it ever?? Ask Ben B)

Erwin calls for his hear "one time"

9h river! Erwin triples up.

Raf makes a little back off Hendrik before the rest goes to Erwin.

Hendrick is out in 26th place for €265.

Busy, busy hand involving Simon Pham (and his rail!) Michael Sheriff (enjoying a very good run today) and Francis Vandendriessche.

Simon moves all in and is re raised by Francis and Michael snap calls them both.

Simon has 4c 4d and is at risk to both players.
Francis has A s Kh and is at risk to Michael but has Simon covered.
Michael has A c Ad and has them both comfortably covered.

10c 10d 7h 9c 2d

Nothing for anyone and Michael takes that huge pot and ends two players tournaments!!

Francis started the hand with slightly less chips and finishes in 20th place.
Simon finishes in 19th.
Both take home €325.

David Meighan looks at his cards and they are good enough - all his chips go in.

Thibault Fournier checks his cards and makes the call.

4s 4d for David who is at risk to Thibault holding Ah Ks

3c Jd 7d flop, safe for David..

2s on the turn, David looking good for the double...

But, good old A s on the river sees David finish in 18th place for €325.

David (in happier times)...

6s river sees Robert check call Elie"s bet of 80k

Elie shows Ac 9d

Defending champion, Robert Blaauwgeers, moves all in for around 150k

It folds to Thibault Fournier who makes the call.

Thibault has 10s 10h and has Robert covered.
Robert has A s 7s

4d Qs 10 flop hits Thibault hard and leaves Robert wanting.

9d turn leaves Robert drawing dead and the "too little, too late" Ac on the river sees our defending champion"s journey end in 16th place, collecting €370.

Rauidhri Finnegan in the small blind makes the call.

Emmet"s Ah 6d dominating Raudhri"s Kc Jh and the board of 6h 10s 4c 9c 7h doesn"t change that.

Rauidhri goes to leave the table, he thinks he"s out! The dealer confirms he has just shy of 40k left!

Next hand Audrey Sheardown UTG pushes all in... and is called by Jerome Coquelle

Audrey comfortably ahead with Ad 10h against teh Ah 9s of Jerome

But a flop 6d 2s 9c brings a dejected Audrey, and with a Turn 8c.... but River 10c... Audrey again starts ahead, goes behind on a flop but takes the pot on the River...

and we lose Jerome in 14th spot

She won her place here at the Irish Amateur Poker Championships by winning the Live Pub Poker League National Championships back in March.
She originally won a package to Vegas, but was unable to make the dates and so she decided to swap it to include this event instead - and that is looking like a great decision as she is one of 12 left and has around 250k!!

Danny makes a raise, Thibault re raises, Danny ships and they end up with all their chips in the middle.
Thibault is at risk but ahead with Qh Qs to Danny"s Ad Qd

Case Qc on the flop extends Thibault"s lead with 2s 7s

3s turn seals Thibault"s win and the 7c to give him the house on the river, just to be sure.

Thibault now around 900k
Danny still with around 500k left.

Emmet Davis and Michael Sheriff have been betting throughout the streets culminating with Emmet betting around 130k on the river.

Michael re raises all in.

Emmet thinks for a moment and announces call.

Michael knocks the table and says nice hand. The dealer explains he must show his hand. He shows Kd Jd

Jason Kemp, on the button, thinks, counts his chips, looks at the players to his left in the blinds, counts his chips, looks at Audrey, counts his chips...and calls.

Audrey has Kd Qh

6d Js 9s flop gives Audrey some extra outs to the straight...Jason is stood and sweating...

7d turn, no help...

The rest fold.

Emmet has 5h 5c
Edward has 4c 4d

Qc 7c Kd 5s 3h

Edward Kelly is the first player to exit this final table.

He finishes in 9th for €630, well played to him.

Danny forced to commit a large percentage of his stack to the big blind.

Michael has moved all in with Qs Js for around 100k
Danny makes the call with slightly fewer chips and holding Ad 7s

Kc Kd 2h Kh 6h

Danny gets the double up and Michael is now on absolute fumes of chips...

Level 23 here, blinds 20k/40k with 5k ante.

Emmet makes it 87k to go from mid position

It is folded round to Kevin in the big blind.

Kevin re checks his cards and makes the call.

Dealer gives them Kd Qd 3s

They both check and see a Jh

Kevin begins to stack chips but checks and Emmet follows suit.

Qc on the river

Kevin thinks for some time...but checks.

Emmet shows Jd 10c and Kevin mucks

Erwin moves all in fro mid position.

It folds to the big blind of Michael who, with a significantly smaller stack, makes the call.

Erwin has 8c 8h

Michael has Jh 5d

The flop is 5c Jd 8s !!

But the following 9d 4h not enough for Michael Sheriff and he finishes in 8th place and is off to collect his €760. Well played.

Elie raises to 90k

It folds to Jason in the big blind, he starts counting his stack...and makes the call.

7h 7c 9c first three cards, Jason checks and Elie continues for 125k

Jason starts to count again and moves all in!

Elie sighs, covers his mouth...looks at Jason and his stack...asks for an exact count of how much more he would have to put in...

JP Round 42k
Dave Kingswell 43k

Leigh's commentary mentioned that Emmet has been quiet of late...Emmet makes a raise...

At least he thinks he has but he hasn"t kept up with the blind level changes and it goes down as a call!! The rest chuckle.

Jason calls from the button and Danny checks the big blind.

Deal the flop - 8s Qs 4c

It goes mental, Danny has checked in the dark, Emmet leads out for 110k

Jason folds and Danny moves all in and is snapped by Emmet!

Danny has Qc 7c and Emmet has Ah Qd

Danny needs a 7 or miracle to survive...

Jh turn, no good...

10c river and Danny Opthof has run out of chips.

His next stop, the cash desk to collect his €1035! Well played to him - a fantastic, good fun player.

Last hand of Level 24 and Thibault moves his stack across the line, scarf across his mouth, sunglasses firmly in place.

Jason, on the button, asks for the count and looks pained...the count is 288k and Jason folds, as does Erwin in the small blind.

Kevin now with a decision to make, he has 50k of big blind already in so would have another 233k to call - most, if not all of his stack.

Kevin asks about the next blind level- it will be 30k/60k.

This is enough to convince Kevin to make the call.

Thibault had Kc Kh
Kevin has 2s 2c

7c Qc 3d 10s 5d

Simple poker and the kings hold and win.

Thibault is now up to over 600k
Kevin is down to 10k

Erwin has Ad 3d

2d Ks 5c on the flop, good for Thibault

It folds to Jason in the small blind and he moves all in.

Erwin, having just won some chips, has a decision to make.

Jason has around 230k and Erwin makes the fold so Jason adds the big blind and antes to his stack.

Elie in the small blind and Emmet in the big blind.

It folds to Elie and he makes it 125k to go - only 65k more to Emmet but he lets it go and Elie takes it down

4 handed - the blinds come round quick and Jason is back in the big.

He has around 1/4 of his stack in with the big blind and ante.

Emmet raises the button to 125k and Jason ships.

Emmet calls and shows Kd 9d

Jason has found 10h 10s but can it hold?

2d Jd 5s flop

Jason still ahead but needs to avoid the diamond...

9c on the turn and Jason now needs to fade diamonds, kings and 9"s...

Ac river and Jason doubles his 305k stack plus blinds and antes to around 700k.

Emmet still comfortable above 2 million chips.

Emmet raises from the button, to 135k and Erwin makes the call from the big blind.

First three community cards are 7d Ad 10d

Erwin checks and Emmet bets 130k

Erwin lets it go and Emmet recovers a large amount of the chips he lost to Jason last hand.

Elie and Emmet in the blinds again, folds to Elie and he raises to 130k and Emmet calls.

8c 5d 7c are placed into the middle

Elie counting out betting chips...he makes it 130k to see the turn and Emmet immediately calls

Qd is what they get.

Elie counting out another bet, reaching for a stack of 25k chips - 185k and is, again, quickly called by Emmet.

6h river and back over to Elie again.

He looks off into the distance, down to the board, at his stack, he raises a stack of 25k chips - 400k

Emmet stares at the board...he has about 850k behind, big decision with a pot of over 1 million now...

He eventually folds and Emmet wins another huge pot.

Emmett Davis enjoying the ride...

Jason back in the big blind again, 60k before the cards are dealt and a 10k ante.

Elie, on the button, raises it to 125k.

Emmet quickly folds the small blind so over to Jason...he calls.

They both check after they see 4s Kh 8d

8s on the turn sees Elie bet 100k and Jason calls

2d final card, Jason checks back to Elie and Elie bets 175k and Jason calls.

Jason has Kd Jd

Elie has 4c 5h

Jason takes a big pot with the "check/call"

Last few hands of this level and we have a new dealer.

Jason is in the big blind this hand, Emmet in the small.

Erwin gives a thumbs up to his rail before he looks at his cards and, under the gun, makes it 135k

Elie raises on the button to 300k

Emmet looks at his hand and is happy to fold, along with Jason.

Back round to the original raiser, Erwin, 175k more to him to make the call.

He decides not to pursue it and folds

Elie increases his chip lead.
