Title: WCOAP 2018 Schedule of Events
Post by: IrishTom on November 05, 2017, 22:28:55 PM
We have great pleasure to confirm the Schedule of Events for the WCOAP 2018, taking place at Grosvenor Casino BNR, Manchester from Saturday 31st March (Easter Saturday) to Sunday 8th April 2018, with a FULL 9 days of poker featuring no less that 33 bracelet events covering a plethora of poker disciplines.

Whilst aiming to please everyone, we know that simply won't be possible - but we have endeavoured to bring you one hell of a schedule - including aiming to ensure that those 'busting early events' will have more to enjoy later in the day... every day.  However, whilst recognising that APAT have limited resources, we simply cannot offer poker 24/7, nor indeed, from noon till times like 4am or similar, so the schedule has been drawn up with a view to a 2am latest finish each day.... it's ambitious, but WE'RE excited to be delivering such a schedule, and we hope our members will also feel this is something very unique - and not to be missed!

See you in Manchester...

Mind blowing!

It will take me a while to work out what I want to play each day but it's going to be epic.

Thanks APAT and BNR for this.

If it is open to team winners and on-line winners I think a bigger cap maybe required Dave, as there will be way more than 72 who want to play.

Well done to all at Apat and Grosvenor for this outstanding itinerary.

I know how hard it has been to put this schedule together. We only enjoy the actual playing and people do not realise how much work it takes to organise one event...let alone this lot!

FANTASTIC EFFORT!

Brian said it.

A lot of imagination in those events. Only problem is not being able to play all the ones I want to, but well done for dealing with the issue of people having nothing to do when they bust early.

Yay, Triple Stud, my fav! Shame I'll have to miss it this time, but there is plenty of Razz, HORSE, etc elsewhere.

Survivor Shootout will eliminate the lowest stack from each table at the end of each level (unless a player has naturally exited), so all tables will finish in the same level.

Calm down now, it's just a poker festival.

Nine day, 33 event festivals including PLO, 7-Card Stud, NLHE, 8-Game, ROE, PLO8, Triple Stud, HORSE, OFC, Razz, Irish, Crazy Pineapple and Heads Up are somewhat a banality now!

All events are Freezeouts Danny... the only difference is that a player can play multiple days of the 'Cash Championship' to qualify for the Final Table...

Brian, I presume you mean via the Grosvenor Online Holding Tank?  If so, then we will register you in advance and transfer your buyin to the venue in advance - therefore you do NOT need to turn up early to do either of these.

We do request that players be ready to take their seat 5 mins before the start of each event, however, for those who reg/buyin via the Grosvenor Online Holding Tanks, they do NOT need to turn up to reg/buyin at the venue... we will have sorted all that for you and you will automatically be included in the table/seat draw - so simply turn up and take your seat.

If you arrive AFTER the start of the event, your chips will automatically be put into play and be blinded off.

Planning on coming from Canada but want to be sure I'll be able to play.
Any way of sending buyins directly to Gosvenor Casino prior to leaving for the UK?
If not, can I register for the whole series at the casino prior to the 31st?
If not, can I register for the whole series at the casino on the 31st?
If not, must I register each day and hope the tournament isn't already sold out?

Hi Dave, we look forward to welcoming you to WCOAP mate...

I think your best options are:

'reserve' seats for every event via APAT Eventbrite (has a small additional charge which pays for the APAT updates/blog reports all week) and this guarantees you a seat in every event you reserve for up until 30 mins prior to event start time

'buy in' via Grosvenor Online Holding Tanks - But I presume you can't whilst in Canada, so if desired you could transfer your buyins direct to myself and I will include this with the Holding Tank registrations

Waiting until the day is possible as we will not sell all seats in advance, but the risk is that an event sells out before you register on the day

Tom , PLO double chance , could I please clarify ?
Is this half stack to begin with and then the second half is available at any time or when knocked out ... or in this instance does it mean one rebuy is available ? Sorry to ask but I think it could be any of these :-)

Hi Nev, everyone sits down with 10k and MAY immediately request the 2nd 10k stack (before the first hand from the dealer).... the 2nd 10k stack may be taken at any time up until the first break - if a player has not taken this 2nd stack by the time of the first break, it is given to them at this time.  If a player 'busts' his '1st' stack at any time before the first break, they are immediately given their 2nd stack.

No additional buy-in is made for the 2nd 10k stack.

I've registered using Eventbrite. Couple of questions:
I've registered for "ROE (NLHE/PLO)". I assume this is a 5-game mix of R + O + E + NLHE + PLO?
I passed on "Mixed Game Max". What is this?
Do I need to bring my Eventbrite tickets or just show my ID when I arrive?

Thanks. Should be fun.

Thanks. Should be fun.

ROE means round of each - so one round nlh one round plo

Looks like I messed up with ROE! Is your 8-Game = FL27 + HORSE + NLHE + PLO?
Still don't have any replies to my other 2 questions:
What is "Mixed Game Max"?
Do I need to bring my Eventbrite receipt to the tournaments or just my ID?

8 Game is as you say - the 2-7 is limit triple draw then HORSE + NLHE + PLO.

Tom will advise on the Mixed Game Max as this might differ from the regular Mix Max which is later in the week.

Full details of the individual events/structure will follow.

Eventbrite receipts are not required as Tom & Casino will have a full list of entrants from Eventbrite.

Thanks TheHitDogAF. I guess the "Game" in "Mix Game Max" was just a typo. I'll check later to be sure.
Now I just have to book my flight and I'm all ready.

I doubt it's a typo, the Mix Max is on the 2nd Saturday.

So, Mix Max is NLHE that runs 9 handed, then 6 handed, then Heads Up to get to a final 9 handed table.

Mix Game Max is the same structure, but will be a combination of NLHE and PLO.

Hi

Going to be making my APAT debut on Sunday 1st April and Monday 2nd. Looking to play as many events as possible. Can I pre register into the holding tanks two tournaments a day? Or do I have to wait till I have been knocked out of the earlier one? Then register the later one on the day?

Thanks Paul

Hi Tom

Last years player briefing said

"Anyone who has pre-bought/registered into multiple overlapping events on the same day, and is still playing event 1 when event 2 starts and therefore cannot play event 2 (because they cannot as they are not allowed to multi table same '1 day' events) then they must inform MYSELF BEFORE event 2 starts to ensure a refund - and at this time their seat will be made available to others - they may of course, on departure from the first tournament, then ask to have their name added to the event reserve list."

Can I just check that the same will apply to WCOAP 2018

Didn't realise this - good to know. I have secondary events earmarked (just in case) - guess I shall buy into them now.

My train doesn't get in until 12pm on the Tuesday, will my chips just be in play for the CoC as I have pr-regged? If I change my train it's 50 quid different which is a tad excessive

Cheers

Hi - can I just check the situation with meals at breaks please? Do we need to rely on buying food from the casino or is there anything provided? Might need to go down Macca D's!!  :)

It's either the Casino Menu or a quick trip out during the break.
