Early days with all players still in, including Alex Cooper, winner of the APAT Fantasy Football last year, claims his added value prize of a National Championship entry and turns up tonight at Stockton :)

David 'Pokerpops' Amos has had a bit of a rollercoaster already. He lost a small chunk with QQ on a K x J 10 board with villain holding K 10.

He got it back when he called a small raise on the button with A s 9s. Flop has 2 spades on it including Ks

Turn is Js and he gets back to starting stack when Villain bets river holding Qs 10s

Barrie Penman getting involved, he raises to 350 pre flop from mid position. Alan Bowman calls next to him and Pops calls from the button.

The flop is 9d 10h 8c

Barrie bets 650, and both call.

Qh is checked by Barrie. Alan bets 1200.
Pops raises to 2700.

Barrie folds quickly. Alan thinks before folding saying "you've got a Jack"

Pops shows Qs Jd and says he hates the turn and had to raise.

With blinds at 75/150 and a raise pre, 4 players see a flop of 5s Qd 3h

Bets on the flop leave just Luke Moran and John Clark with their cards in front of them.

9s turn. John bets 6k with 12k behind. Luke ships over the top with a similar stack and John makes the call.

The 2s river already irrelevant as John shows Ad Qs and Luke has Qh Qc

Luke has John covered and John Clark is first to bust, 20 minutes into Level 3.

All in pre flop this time but almost the same scenario as tonight's first bust - A s Qd for Anthony Drane vs the Qs Qc of Gary Roberts.

The river is the 6d. Izzy misses the royal flush but her nut flush remains enough to put her up above starting stack.

Sean Weldon is the unfortunate 1st departure - early on Sean bet 4000, but thought he had bet 400 (although nobody at the table realised his mistake) - and continued to try and bet it out - he lost that 'drawing hand' to a full house before soon after finding 2 pair on the Flop holding 10 9, but only for his opponent to hit the straight and send Sean to the rail as our first casualty today...

John Murray loses most of his 81k stack in quick succession... raises UTG with pocket 2's and follows it all the way to the river and whilst doesn't improve bets out and loses 51k

Next hand flat calls playing 72 off and on a JQK Flop bets 10k and gets called - A Turn he bets 10k and gets called - anyway - he loses 20k in the pot...

Meanwhile back to reality, and John Murray is on circa 11k FOR THE START OF PLAY and NOT the 81k he reported at the end of Day 1b...

So, with a new reality check for John Murray, his very early exit makes more sense! He gets a few ships through but eventually runs AQ into 10's. With no Ace or Queen to help him out, his new plan is to play the ROE at 2pm...then the PLO at 7pm...and then the local comp at 8pm ;D

David Amos raises to 4k pre and gets a call.
The Qs Jd 9c board looks pretty good for Dave, holding Ks Kc so he bets. He even ships the raise but only to find he is bested by Kh 10h and sent to the rail/the entry list for the ROE at 2pm.

And as John departs, David Amos slips out... and John has tales of woe to dispense ;)

A huge thanks to everyone who played APAT this weekend - to those in Stockton on Friday evening and to the locals and travellers here in Newcastle over the past 2 days - and to Frankie and Michael and their respective poker staff - and I have to say the valet service here in Grosvenor Newcastle was first class throughout - HUGE thanks to Julie and the team for all their hard work in looking after everyone so well.
