We are off and running and Roxanne Monaghan and Terry Evans hit the ground running.7

There's around 15k in the pot, the board has run out Ks Jc 6s 7s 10h and Roxanne has bet out for 11k.

Terry spends a long time talking through the options before eventually folding 10s 10c

Roxanne adds a nice pot to her stack early doors.

Three clubs on the flop means Dave Hardy flops the flush.

The fourth club on the river sees him lose a chunk to a better rivered flush.

"I didn't like losing those chips...ouch"

Primo Cistola raises from under the gun plus one.

It folds to Dave Amos in the small blind. He re raises and Primo calls.

The flop is 5c 4c Qd

Dave continues for 3.5k

Primo raises it to 8k and Dave makes the call.

The turn is 4h and Dave checks.

Primo ships for around 15k and Dave instantly calls.

He doesn't manage to double his fumes and exits the tournament.

Middle of Level 5, blnds 300/600, Holly Stanswood finds Jc Js and raises it up.

She finds herself in a raising war resulting in her 50k+ going into the middle.

She is called and is shown A s Kd

She has a little sweat with Qc 10s on the board...

But her Jacks hold and she sends a player to the rail and boosts her stack to over 100k.

Dave Hardy has Kc 10c and, with a king on the flop, he bets and they wind up all in.

His opponent has two hearts to go with the two hearts on the flop and the river heart sees Dave eliminated.

The board has come down 6d 10s 9c Jc Ad

There is over 60k in the middle and Brian Staple has bet out for 31k

The board is 3c Qs 8d 8s 3h and the pot is around 30k

Dave Paxton bets 3k

Les Brannon raises him all in.

With blinds at 800/1600/1600 there is a raise to 6k.

Warren Brooks re raises to 11.5k.

Brian Staples and the OR make the call.

The three of them get an Ac Jc 3h flop.

It checks to Warren, he bets 15k and only Brian makes the call

They both check the Js turn.

The river is 7s

Warren bets 15k but, before his chips even hit the felt, Brian has moved all in for over 50k

Warren thinks for a while before letting it go.

Brian increases his stack significantly.

Viktors Kursitis, current LPPL National Champion, gets it all in with Alison Awome and one other at risk.

Viktors has 10c Jc and the board comes out 10d Ad Qd Kd 3s and there isn't a 5th diamond or another Jack in sight.

Viktors scoops the lot and Alison and 1 other are sent to the rail.

Gail Swain ships her last 12k in with 10c 10d and is called by the big blind holding Ad 10s

There is an ace on the board and Gail is off to the 3 Card Stud Table.

Level 11, blinds 1k/3k/3k, three to the flop with a raise.

The first three cards out are 8h 8d Ks

Garry John Moore moves all in for around 70k.

David Amos has a little think, Steve Smiter Smith is to act behind him, and then makes the call.

Steve folds.

David instantly announces quads and turns 8s 8c "I wanted Steve to call behind!"

Garry shows Kc Qd

Turn is 3d and river is Kd

David knocks Garry out in the penultimate level of the day and adds around 80k to his stack putting him on around 330k.

Last ten minutes of level 11, 136/474 remain average stack  140k

Brian Staples raises, in late position, to 25k.

Lise Wettavik, next to act, moves all in for just short of 50k.

It folds back to Brian who fairly quickly calls.

Brian has 8h 9h verses Lise's Qs Qc

10h 7s 6h flop gets everyone 'oohing' and 'ahhhing'...

The Js turn sees her get up out of her seat and the 4c turn just finishes the hand.

Brian knocks Lise out of the event.

Halfway through the last level, Holly Stanswood calls a 35k pre flop raise from Johnny Nixon.

The flop comes 6s Qd 5c

Holly ships and Johnny calls.

Holly shows 10d 10h

Johnny has Ad Qs

The board runs out Qc 8h and Holly is left with around 22k.

----

Not many hands later and Holly ships. Johnny wakes up with Ad Kh in the big blind and calls.

Holly has Ac 10d "You owe me a double up, there better be a 10 on this flop..."

Ah Kc 5s

Holly "oh, right, well, that's not a ten!"

7d turn and 4d river and Holly busts.

First hand, blinds 2k/5k/5k, Joanna Skrukkerud moves all in for her remaining 16k and is called by Alon Arbitman in the ig blind.

Alon has Jh 6h

Joanna has Kh 9c

Jc 2s 6c flop and Joanna is on her feet and packing her things

She pauses for the 9h turn.

And the Kc river means she sits back down....

----

A few hands later she is all in again with Kd Jc against 4h 4s

Ad 2d 2h 10h 5h

Joanna busts early doors.

Ben has Js Jc

Jakub shows A s 7s

Turn is 9h and river the 4d

Ben now up to around 130k with average stack 220k.

We get to the table and the board is Ah Qh Kc 9d 4h

Roxanne Monaghan has Ac Qc

Michel Sealtiel with A s 10s

Luigi Copertino shows Ad Kd

Luigi is celebrating with a dance and Michel is bust.

Level 13 2000/5000(5000) average stack 223k and we arrive at the table with the Board showing 5s 7d 6h 3c

Remo Devito bets 37k in a 120k pot, only to see Steve Roderick immediately announce All In, for a total of 171k

Remo eventually folds and Steve adds considerably to his stack, pushing him up nicely above the average

A couple of hands later and Remo is involved again

We've just moved into Level 14 3000/6000(6000), 84 players remain and average stack is 225k

Fabian Haberleitner has pushed all in for 69k, Remo has him easily covered, thinks, and makes the call (leaving him circa 260k behind) and they go Heads Up

Fabian shows Qd Jc and Remo turns over 7h 7c - Jh in the window holds for Fabian

Me: so, have you had any big hands today or just been winning little pots?

Roxanne: I've had aces 4 times... I had Kings 5 times yesterday.

Me: Yea. OK. That will do it...

She is up to around 500k.

Richad Faria is getting short stacked so he shoves so decides to shove when he finds 9c 9s.  He gets a call from Ionel Serbu with Ad 5c.

Board Ks 3d 8h 7d Qd and richard stands up to depart, thinking Ionel had his a Flush - quickly sits down, and quietly smiles, when he's informed his 9's are good :)

Annette Anderson (seat 4) ships her stack pre flop and gets a call from Terry Evens (seat 1) - a 3rd player (seat 2) contemplates a call, and Annette announces 'you're behind'.... they fold

Terry shows Ks Jh, only for Annette to flip over A s Ah

Flop 6d 3c Qh.... Turn Ac and Annette gently bangs the table and says 'yes' - only for the River 10d to give Terry the Straight and he increases his stack to around 235k

Although it was Rob Davies on the same table (seat 3) and Terry's friend, who gave the biggest 'shout' when the 10d hit the table :)

Christan has Qh Qd and Michael Ah Qs - Michael doesn't improve and hits the rail in 16th spot

Quickly following - Mark Leverett is low on chips so ships his stack on a flop of 6d 8h 2h with 7h 9s, called by Glenn Cochrane with 10d 10s which holds and we lose Mark in 15th

Well, that was all rather enjoyable.
Well done APAT and specifically well done Tom and Lucy who were always there keeping us sorted.
Great structure, great venue, great dealers (apart from the one who dealt that 9 on my last hand)

Can we do it again next year?
