Club Captain

I am pleased to announce that the captain for the Plymouth Poker Club for the season will be Dave Potter.

Dave is a regular in APAT games both live and online.  In season 2, Dave made the final table of the Welsh National Championships before being knocked out by eventual champ Tim Magnus.

I"m sure Dave will add his enthusiasm to the Plymouth cause for the coming season.  Already a quality list of players and definite contenders.

Many thanks,

Leigh

Hi I am really interested in joining the plymouth team but I am a little confused by it all. It"s no doubt straight forward but if I could communicate with somone directly just to clear some questions that I have. It"s probably me but APAT and the BS poker site don"t appear to be in bed together regarding information. If someone could contact me I would be grateful. Frazer.

That is due to Christmas Frazer.  The APAT announcement happened when most BSQ staff were on holiday, so the sites will align in the next week or so when everyone is back to normal.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me here.

Just to let Team Plymouth know that I will not be playing in the first round as I am away on business.

Captain Announced
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: kaysing on January 31, 2009, 21:09:10 PM
Hi guys,

First post as Team Captain:  no big speaches, just to say that if the other clubs unclench their fists we will always be ready to offer them an open hand (as they depart the table)!

The important thing is to get at least 4 players in each of the rounds.  We need one more for tomorrow so please canvas your mates to join.  It would be a real shame to lose out just because we didn"t jam the game - be asssured the others will.

I have never played in a team format - so for the first 3 - 4 games I suggest we all play our normal game and see how it pans out.  Please be aware of who is playing from the Plymouth club (Club Guz) - I will endevour to post just prior to each game - try not to get big with a team mate early on in any game, of course things may change as the game develops.  Any advice on playing a team format please PM me.

Good luck to you all and here"s to a successful season.

All the best,

Dave

Obviously, I would point out that soft play is very frowned upon, and each player should look to play their own game, as Dave has pointed out.

Good luck for the season.   ;D

Got my password sorted now, so i am in, Blue square has excellent customer support and helped me out within minutes, i have the plymouth crews names written down and will follow you all thoughout, Please do not think i am being rude if i do not get into much chat tonight because i might have more than one table open and i find muti tableing hard enough as it is  :) once again, good luck all and come on the Plymouth crew.

Congrats to Dave for becoming our captain, a good choice.

Likewise on the chat for me, but never fear I am sure we will all be looking out for each other.  Good luck all and may your flop be kind.  Gather and pass on via
PM any gems of info including possible team tactics the opposition are using that may help in the future.

Sadly no pasty tonight for Team Crimp.  Well played al esp Andy who looked like he would go deep until crippled after his KK lost to AJ.

I think the structure could be slightly longer. It became a bit of a shove fest after about 75 mins.  What do you all think?

See you all in a fortnight.

Dave

Post by: frazer on February 01, 2009, 21:55:23 PM
Hi Dave , yes it was good fun but we had some horrible bad luck . Still its a long season we can all lick our wounds and come back in two weeks. Well played everyone Frazer.
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: ChipClick on February 02, 2009, 20:31:22 PM
Unlucky Guys we had some terrible luck last night, i still really enjoyed the tourney and the support from the rail was great  :) not to worry, as Frazer has already mentioned its a long season ahead of us and there is plenty of time to show what we can all do, our team maybe small but maybe thats not such a bad thing, it will make it that little bit sweeter when we do score. Hopefully Bob will play next time so if we all aim to outlast him we will do just fine  :)

Dave, i think you are right about the structure but to be honest i would struggle to play anything longer because its on a sunday night, still regardless of the structure, i think the season is going to be a lot of fun.

See you all in a couple of weeks

Andy

Agree -I dont want to be up much after the witching hour but a 7 pm start with 3000 chips and 12 min blinds would make all the difference.
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: frazer on February 04, 2009, 19:30:43 PM
Hi everyone , regarding the structure on our team games I was a little suprised that we only had 10 min blinds anyway. Normaly in these one off games or fortnightly games you would be looking at 12 - 15 min blinds. So yes if your looking for support to increase the blinds count me in. However  I hope the start time doesn"t go backwards 8.00 start for me is just about right. I also understand why players don"t want to be playing late into the night but for me I"m happy to sit and play poker all night if I"m winning . So before anyone says anything your right , I don"t have too many late nights !!

Frazer.

Very unlucky exit Marc - its obviously going to happen but still hurts like hell when it does.  Well played and I guess you had a blast of a time anyway.

I am planning to go to Cardiff in April - any other Team Plymouth members planning the same?  Also the WCOAP at DTD - all three tourneys.

Thanks Dave
My own fault completely. Having played very few hands to get to 20k+ in 90 minutes and then to donk off the lot in such a fashion is unforgivable. Having put both players on AA and then calling off my chips anyway is ridiculous. Could have put both hands down and still had circa 18k and been in a stong position.
Was disappointed but blow was softened as picked up $1900 on Friday afternoon/evening taking down BSQ 7.5K. I then popped out for a couple of hours live cash and collected another £250 so pretty much covered my expenses!!

I will certainly try to get to Cardiff and probably DTD.

Great effort Paul, you just needed a wingman there to get into the points.  All good signs for upcoming games though.  I think Plymouth will hold their own.

And a nice payday for your efforts.   ;D
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion

Excellent effort Paul, only sorry that I could not hang in there with you.  This shows the quality that is in Team Plymouth, and although we didnt pick up any league points we are certainly moving in the right direction.  The key, besides good play, is certainly numbers in the game.  It reall lyhelps a teams"s position to have 3 or more player still in approaching the bubble, so encourage anyone who might be thinking of joining in to sign for Team Plymouth.

The structure is better but unless you get a start in hour one, you really have to nurse your stack - but for a $10 Sun night game I think it"s ok.

See you all at the next installment in a couple of weeks.  Once again Paul, really well played.

Dave

Just gutted not to get anything for the team which is the all important part :(

It"s a decent length series so sure Plymouth will be up there anyway with the quality of players and no i"m not including me in that ;D

It didn"t come across negative Paul.  I think it"s great that you"ve just taken down a tough tourney and you are gutted to have not secured points for the team.  Now that is a real team player.   ;D

Keep up the efforts and I"m sure points will come.
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: kaysing on February 16, 2009, 18:56:45 PM
Paul"s attitude is right on.  I could have hung on for a minor cash place but all along have said to myself this is a $10 team tourney and the aim is not to get a minor cash but secure points for the team.  Remember the goal is to get a place in the final.  I am sure that all Team Plymouth feel the same so keep on keeping with that very positive attitude guys.

The pasty is starting to roll.

Once again very well played Paul; like you I would be disappointed to win and not gain any points for the team.  Our time will come as we have some solid players.  As Leigh said though, it is a tough touney and luck plays its part - keep the faith.

Beers on Paul in Cardiff?!!

Well done yesterday Paul a fantastic win, its a real shame about the points but do not worry, they will come soon. I tried to rail as many of the team as i could and everyone seemed to be doing really well, luck did not seem to be on are side again, certainly not for me anyway lol, i got done with exactly the same hand as last time, my KK did not hold up against AJ again. Still it"s all looking good for the team now and i am looking forward to the next tourney.

I will be playing the national tourney on satarday so may see some of you there, if not, see you in a couple of weeks.

Hi Dave

It does not look like i am going to cardiff now, i missed out on a seat in the first sat by just two places and i also missed out in the clickfest, i came home from work late on thursday and did not make payment until 21:19, which was about 15mins to late i think. I am gutted as this was the most affordable national tourney by far for me, i played the irish tourney last year and its all gets a bit expensive with the travel and accomadation so i will not be entering it this year, Scotland is looking unlikely aswell, so i guess i will have to wait until DTD.

I have a post in the seat exchange but i do not really expect to get a seat now  :(

Anyway, good luck tomorrow folks

Andy

Shame about that Andy,  I hope to get to DTD as well and these will very likely be the only National tournies for me this year.  Are there any other Team Plymouth intending to go to the WCOAP?  Would be good to catch up (and even cash).  I even fancy doing all the tourneys in Nottingham if poss!!

Hi Guys , better night for us this week it was good fun. Paul no need to say sorry these things happen in poker thats why we love it. I mean from my posistion with my stack I was pushing with any pair. When I saw your aa I wasn"t too upset , as we both are well aware aa gets busted all the time pre flop , although in saying that I would have been happier to see 22 lol . I had to go into history to see what happened because after the turn card I totally missed the 8 that gave you the fh . Hopefully we"re in the points this week so everything is good . Thanks Frazer.

Off and running.  Congrats guys, excellent result.  I must admit, I feel a bit like a non-playing Captain at the mo!!  All-round a great team effort - well played.  I just felt that building on the earlier rounds where we had some rotten luck (sorry, variance), we have every opportunity in this league. With one of the smaller teams  there is a real chance of you making it into the final.  Remeber, those with large teams have more competition from within their ranks than we do.

I propose "Quality not quantity" is our motto!!

Once again, very well played everyone.
See you in a fortnight.

All the best,

Dave

well played dave great performance , when you hit the final table I"m thinking your probably going to have to win tonight to get us any points, so no pressure. But you did it and more points for us , fantastic. I hope you don"t think I"m being too presumptuous Dave but I think the Plymouth team is in good shape its really good fun playing every two weeks. Well done Dave!

I definitely prefered the 13min levels, but my play is still well below par, perhaps because I am not playing much poker atm - I did not play at all between round 3 and 4.

I will try harder.
Title: Re: Plymouth Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: kaysing on March 16, 2009, 16:26:29 PM
Thank for all the congrats.  I had a feeling that once i trippled up (TT, went all in on a flop of AT7 -thought that someone might come with an Ace only to find 2 takers) I might be able to go deep. Got a bit of luck but folded some big hands as well.

I agree Frazer that Team Plymouth is in good shape and that we appear to have  a good team spirit building.  Quality not quantity is what counts.  Those teams with lots of members might be pushing for the top three but their real battle will be within the club to finish in the top four of their club.

Bob - I am sure your talent will show through esp with the blind structure back at 13 mins.  From what I have seen, we have about 7 or 8 really capable players that will give any of the other clubs a run for their money.

Lets keep the momentum going into round 5.

Well played all.

I must be on somewhat of a run a I managed to Sat into the WCOAP ME.  Are there any other Team Guz players hoping to make the journey?  Unlucky last night Glenn - I folowed for a while, came back and there you were - gone!

Hopefully see some of you in Nottingham, if not Cardiff.

Failing that, of course, there is always the small matter of our increasingly successful online league performances.

See you next Sunday.

This is indeed goodness of the highest order!!  Well played everyone - an excellent effort.  Once again it shows that quality not quantity is what"s needed and Team Plymouth are currently displaying this in spades.

I will unfortunatley have to miss the next round due to hols but will be back later in April.

Well played everyone sunday evening four in the top ten is fantastic. It was difficult on the final table with a massive chip leader sat to mine and pauls immediate left. I can"t talk for paul of course but I could"nt breathe any time I had a half decent hand  my chip stack raise came in from him. Difficult to play against that for me anyway , when I finally picked up two decent cards I ran into two monsters , what can you do. Anyway once again it was great fun playing with you guys sadly I"m away easter Sunday so may not be able to play. Unless I can find an internet connection  and somewhere that will let me play until late. I dont know if any of you guys can help me I"m at harlyn all weekend so if you know of anywhere please let me know. Frazer.

Well played guys.  Last nights result really showed the benefit of getting more than one player to the final table.  Bristol must be spitting feathers not to get any points.  The next 4 matches are crucial - if we can gain 4 points during that period, we will be knocking on the door of qualification.  That may sound a little premature but points are not easy to come by and we have had a great start this season.

Lets really hit it hard over the coming weeks.  Once again, very well played everyone.

All the best,

Dave

Hopefuly I can have a better round next time out , I had a shocker last night all the wrong decisions at all the wrong times and when I had a decent hand I was running into ..... well I dunno but I had to put them down. Anyway guys look forward to two weeks time. Frazer.

Well played all last night. Thanks for railing guys and a special thanks to the boss (Dave) who kept me informed with how the tourney was going, for some reason i had no stats and the lobby was not updating, when we got down to the last two tables i actually thought it was the FT, i was gutted when i found out there was still 20 left. More points are to come in a couple of weeks for sure, we are quality, come on Plymouth.

Hurrah!  Squeezed out a point.  They are not easy to come by and it really shows the benefit of getting more than one player to the final table.  I am only sorry I couldnt have made it 3.

Hopefully I can play better than I did last night, I entered a $5 tourney with 1600 players on BSQ, 5 hrs later and busting out (with over 100k in chips left) in 12th place I won...wait for it...$59  ??? what a waste of time. My end game needs some serious work  ;D

When I finally hit a half decent hand I ran into aa , still I don"t mind losing to that hand as you guys are well aware you get used to it, lol . Thats very unlucky at that stage Paul it"s just not happening for us at the moment. Dave was right to say we"re almost there to qualify but it seems we"re miles away. Well said  Frazer,

We do have the players to get through.  Remember the early rounds - nothing and then a nice run.  We all know about the variance; it is just a matter of plugging away and we will surely qualify.

Well played to all so far and and here is to another run of form.

All the best

Good evening gentlemen,

Once more into the breach.........

Lets give it a real go tonight. It"s been a few weeks since we picked up some points and I wouldn"t want the likes of Cardiff and the Big City boys thinking we are only here to make up the numbers.  The next couple of rounds will prove decisive in qualifying so lets give it a real go.

Quality not quantity

sorry guys had a bad day at the office nothing happened all game for me. I was a little annoyed at the player that put me out , none of us like a bad loser , but a bad winner is hard to take. Said I re raised out of position ,  I re raised with k 10 suited on the button , I dont see that as poor play. Okay then I called the all in and was about a 60/40 dog to the aq but I was married to the pot all but anyway. Win the pot take the chips and leave it at that , thats my philosophy    anyway. Rant over see you in two weeks I hope. Frazer.

I am in for tonight.

Things are starting to look a little tight for 3rd place so I urge all Plymouth Team players to register and give it their best tonight.  I would be such a shame to miss out after a season that has produced some fantastic results for us.  We will hopefully have Glenn Wisbey (smilinassasin) with us tonight - a quality player who has won through to the GUKPT Cof C tounament later this year.

So good luck to all and see you at the tables.

Sorry guys had a shocker tonight , if I may let me try to explain my untimely exit. I called a reraise with q10 two of us left. A q and two small cards hit the flop I check to see where I am and my opponent puts in a bet about four times the pot. So he"s missed but has something , doesnt want me to see another card. For me if i think my opponent has missed laying down qq is not happening so I flat call. Anothet blank on the turn 2 or a 3 I think I check again , another huge bet . So at this point I"m pretty sure that two pair or trips is out because the bets are far to big , if I fold I lose , I figure only aa or kk can beat me so like any gambler I bet he hasn"t got either and go all in. My opponent calls and shows aa , goodnight Irene . So like I say sorry team I"ll try harder next time . Frazer.

One and all,

An absolutley brilliant nights play by everyone and especially well done to Marc on taking it down.  I knew a little positive thought would prove useful and so it did.  A shame that Bristol gained some points, but losing even the smallest of ground at this stage is a massive loss in reality.   6 games to go and I call for maximum effort over the comng weeks to reinforce what has already been a great season for us.

Once again, well played everyone.

All the best,

Dave

PS.

Feel free to rail my efforts at DTD in a couple of weeks.  Entering the omaha and ME - will attempt to play the HORSE if no longer in the ME.

Hi all, good game on sunday night, I am amazed we did not get a point out of that but I think it was proberly my fault, I feel so bad about the hand I got knocked out with I still can not stop thinking about it. For those of you who did not see it, it went something like this:

12 remain, I have 25k, chipleader has just slightly more, around 27k ( I think) with the rest of the field way behind us closest has 12k (I think), the action is folded around to the small blind (chipleader) who raise"s about 3 x bb, I am in the big blind with  :as:  kh so I reraise and he calls. The flop comes down  ad ac :2c: I raise and the sb pushes all in, I did not really want to risk everthing at this stage but convinced myself he had a raggy ace, so I called. He then shows  ah :2d: for the full house to have me crushed, what happens next is a bit of a blur but I am pretty sure the turn was  :2h: and the river  :2s: to give him quads to finish the job and out I went. I was gutted.

I just cannot stop beating my self up over this, should I have folded?, could I have folded? The scary thing is, I think I would play the hand the same way If it happened again, am I wrong? Your views on this would be great. Note: The suits may vary slightly from this but hopefully I remember correctly.

Thanks
Andy

Excellent, see you there Andy.

Regards your exit hand.  I witnessed it and was just as disappointed as you.   In a solo MTT game with similar chip stacks that close to the bubble I  would have considered long and hard before possibly pushing (main concern would be that he made the bet).  However, this is just a personal view and other people"s decision may be different depending  on how they play close to the bubble - go for the win or just make the money and then open up.

As this is a team game whether I played the hand or not would depend a great deal on how many other team members I had with me.  In this case with a good showing I would have pushed as success would have put us in a very strong position to win the 3 points.  However failure to win the hand would not be disasterous for the team, as indeed it proved to be!!  So to sum up, well played, not a bad move but always be aware of how many other team members are still in the game.  Don"t lose sleep over it!!  The only thing to consider perhaps was that he made the all in bet which makes it easier to get away from but it is difficult to do so with trip Aces and a great kicker.  Always beware the pair!!

All the best,

Dave

Hi everybody, sorry for posting my message here, but I"d like to introduce myself. My name is Fabio, I"m Italian but I"m living in Plymouth. I play poker - both live and on line - quite regularly since three years ago. I recently joined APAT in order to participate, as member of the Italian team, to the coming tournament in Luton. In Plymouth I"m used to play at the Grosvenor (which is not exactly the best poker gym ever, I know... :D), while on line my favourite PR is FullTilt.

Well, nice to meet you guys! :)

Welcome Fabio,

You are very welcome to sign up for Team Plymouth and take part in the National online league.  Played over 20 legs we have about 6 games left.  Currently we are sitting third in the Southern Division (top 3 go through to a National online final).  The next game is a week on Sunday.

Hopefully see you there my friend,

Hello Dave,

thanks for the warm welcome. I"ve to admit that I really hate the Ipoker circuit, but why don"t give a try to BlueSquarePoker also? Strangely enough, the structure of these tournaments looks good. :)

Could you please point me to a calendar of all the upcoming events? I"ve seen that only 4 players can participate to each round and of course I don"t intend to steal a seat to any of you guys. So, please consider myself just as a possible substitute.

Cheers,
Fabio

PS: do you know if might be possible to have some special sign up/first deposit bonus on BlueSquarePoker?

Fabio,

We would love to have you aboard.  You wont be taking anyones place as everyone is welcome to play in each of the 20 rounds.  The top 4 players from each of the top 3 regional teams go through to the national online final.  Everything you need to know can be found under the "Online National League" section of this Forum.  Essentially join Blue Square and sign up for the next APAT regional game for the South Division.  The passowrd is "leaguepl".  To ensure all players are aware that you are playing for Team Plymouth join the team under the Plymouth section "members join up here".

See you at the tables

Thank you Andy.  I was really surprised not to see you get through to the final day.

As for my ride it was a blast.  Short stacked most of the day and then some hands entering the final table.  Disappointed to go out 4th but content to have gone in with the better hand.

Lets take this win into the next Team Plymouth game and consolidate our position over Brizzle.

If I manage to win the Fantasy Staker competition (for the WCOAP) I am considering putting a team together made up of SW players to enter the UK Team Champs in Dec in Manchester.  If it comes off let me know of your interest.  Cant guarantee anything as I hope to encourage some home game mates to venture out  of West Cornwall but with teams of 10 should allow for most of those who show interest to be included.

It would be a great opportunity for us to meet up.  I am waiting on Des getting back to me about whether teams must come from recognised forums.  If so, I intend to get those interested to sign up to a "recognised forum"!!

All the best,

Dave

OK Andy (and Frazer!!) I have not yet heard from Des about the make up of the teams.  The thread says something due out soon.

Now back to this evening - its getting close to decision time so make sure we are all firing on all cylinders.  A couple of points here will have a massive effect on the league table - good luck all.

See you at the tables,

1 point moves us a bit clearer.

Once again get AA when a team mate is all in,worst thing about being in a poker team :(

good tourney for the team  ;D

Paul, what can you do? at least the chips stayed within the team. 1 more point for us and nothing for Bristol, i think we can be happy with that. WP

Sorry to miss the end of the tourney.

Well done to all esp those who made the final table.  Its a point and we can ask no more.  On another day we would have gone on to get all three points.  We see how vitally important it is to get as many onto the final table as possible.

Once again, well played everyone, see you next time.  In the meantime I have an appointment with the surgeons knife.  All being well I should be with you in a fortnight. (Nothing serious, just an ongoing foot injury).

All the best,

Dave

Evenin" m"hearty"s,

Tis  your Cap"n" speaking from his sick bed.  Just managed to "borrow" my duaghters laptop and upload BS, so will be playing tonight.  The op went OK, except that I have been bed-ridden for the last two weeks - feels like 2 years.

The message for tonight is the same as previous weeks; win, win, win!  Jam the final table and we will be well placed to pick up some more points.  Be aware of those playng for Bristol and treat accordingly.

All the best men, see you at the tables.

Dave

Hi Guys , turned out to be not so good last night not helped by my shocking game. I played very poor last night ,I played every hand about as bad as possible. And it was shown up with my qq final hand I could try and explain in detail why I made that bet but you guys would see through it and still think it was a bad move. The facts are I"m having a real lean spell at the moment , naturally I"m working through but I don"t think I"m going to be much help to get us out of this sticky spot were in. Naturally I"m going to play the last three games and try and get the plymouth team qualified. Frazer.

Frazer,

Firstly you are not a bad player - no one who plays for Team Plymouth is!   We all go through lean spells and have periods where nothing goes right.  The truth is that with such a small team of regulars, I think it is fantastic we are in the position we are, with every chance of making it to the online final.

A couple of members have expressed interest in the team catching up for a live game - chance to put a face to a name.  I think it would be best arranged this side of Christmas, so before a venue is considered I would be grateful for a show of hands expressing interest in a get-together.  To help with a potential host venue, it would be helpful to know where everyone lives - most of you know I am in West Cornwall - Helston.  Anyway I look forward to hearing from those who fancy a Team Plymouth Home game.

I propose the format is a deepstack NLHE Freezeout cost £20 so as not to get too serious.  Some mates and I currently run a format where we get 10,000 chips with a rebuy or addon built into the initial cost, so that when the first hand has KK running into AA we dont lose a player - 20 min blinds (6 hr game with 6 players)  (could make it 30 min but all up for discussion.)

Look forward to hearing feedback on interest and suggestions.

All the best,

Dave

Forgot to mention, I am in Plymouth, I also have a suggestion, how about if anyone does get knocked out early we could play some heads up games, low stakes, keeping it friendly, could even learn alot from each other.

Hi Guys, firstly thanks Dave for your words of encouragement I appreciate it and believe me I need it. However I am feeling a little more upbeat I"ve had a couple of reasonable games since the weekend so I"m not on suicide watch anymore, lol . Regarding the get together Dave you"ve sold it to me I"m like Andy wherever , whenever. Also like Andy I am a plymouth boy so perhaps if there are more from plymouth we could travel together , only a suggestion. Frazer.

I know Christmas appears a long way off but dates get filled fairly quickly around that time of year.  Therefore, how about the proposed live game taking place on either the weekend of Sat 12 or 19 Dec. A one day game - my pref would be for a Sat as I am usually up early for work on the Mon. Once again, a show of hands stating preferred date(s) to ensure  maximum availability.  Unfortunately I am booked for the few weekends prior to the 12th.

All the best,

Dave

I am able to play a game on 12 december, how many players are we talking here Dave? I would be up for an early start, say anytime form midday onwards but I am happy whatever. What sort of venue do you have in mind?

Possibly my place, but yet to bridge the subject.  Max of 10 players and start around midday - some of my home game mates would like to take part.  Thinking of 30 min blinds and should be finished around 10.

AA no good and KK no good - what can I do???

This year has really shown both sides of the poker coin. Last year I could do no wrong and had more than my fair share of luck. This year I am winning so few races it is getting silly. The last 10 times I have been all in with KK has seen me win once, and AA has been 50/50.

I"ll be back for more punishment in two weeks time - see you all there.

Gentlemen,

Tonight we need a Button-like performance so give it your best and lets take this race to the wire.  Remember it is a team game so be aware of Plymouth and Bristol players at your table and act accordingly.

Good luck tonight everyone, see you at the tables.

Thanks Suzanne for your message.

A big thank you also to all the members of Team Plymouth for the fantastic effort that has been put in week after week.  With fewer members we were always going to be up against it, and so it proved.  However, it cant be said we gave up without a fight - I am proud to have captained a team of such willing fools who were so ready to follow this willing fool into battle.  Lets look forward to next year when I am sure we can go one better.  Once again, hats off to all the Team Plymouth players.

All the best - lets play the last round with a sense of freedom and take it down.

See you at the tables.

Dave

Hi Guys , good luck to everyone playing this evening , no cigar I know but we gave it our best shot. Could I take this oppurtunity to thank all the players in the team for their help and support throughout the season. A big thanks to our captain Dave for always giving words of encouragement and to Leigh our division controller for convincing me at the start of the year that it would be a good idea to join this team , thanks Leigh you were right. Playing against and watching the really good players in this league has help me a lot and brought my game on a little further.

I"m looking forward to signing up again in the new year and hopefuly if possible make at least one live event on the tour. Thanks Frazer

Frazer, Andy and Marc,

Many thanks for your company today in the West Cornwall Christmas Classic!!  I thought the structure and company were just perfect and made for a most enjoyable few hours.  The final results were:

3rd Marc
2nd The most famous, Des (How can I top that for a celebrity guest)
1st And embarrassingly, Moi.

Hope to see you all again in the not to distant future for more West Country Poker Classics.
Bob, shame you couldn"t make it; we did spare you a thought (but then got back to playing 85 off  in an aggressive fashion).

Remember, its quality, not quantity.

Have a good Christmas one and all and don"t forget to recruit for next year"s league.

All the best,

Dave
