First satellite tonight. Already 30 players registers with 4 packages up for grabs at the moment.
Good luck.
-
I"ll be entering this £100+ tournament one way or another... most likely via the clickfest!

You run better there...... :D
-
I"ve spent a small fortune on a new pc just so that it"s reliable enough to get me through the clickfest. (Last year it once crashed 2 minutes before 9pm)
Now that"s dedication. (or stupidity)

You only use it for the clickfests? That is dedication!

Iain that is simply not true. I wait until the wipers go before I change cars.
-
I will tell you what dedication is!
My computer is ****ed so cant enter qualifiers, cant even turn the machine on.... but am desperate to play in the tournament, so I am gonna stay at work until 9pm just so I can register!!! sad but havent played in any of these events yet and it looks like a great set up.
-
Personally, I think a certain Lee Mulligan (Welsh champion in season 1) showed us all what dedication was.
Lee travelled from Southampton to Edinburgh on the day of the Scottish Amateur Championship, without a seat, in the hope of securing one on the day via the reserve list. He was there 3 or 4 hours before the casino opened.
The reserve list is something compiled on the day by Des on the doorstep of the venue. Folk from this list take seats people give up on the day.
Oh, and his dedication got him a seat.
-
Dedication is travelling over the water without a seat with Scouse Bayliff in the car. Driving the whole way to Edinburgh and being at the casino hours before the event only to get so drunk I fell of my chair and donked of all my chips half hour before the end of day one Woop Woop!! Then driving down to Southampton from Edinburgh with the worst hangover ever 10 hours of hell. Dedication or stupidity cant tell which, I"m on shandies this season.

just been done by a shocking play which the turned into a bad beat....ahhhh clickfest for me, should be fun!
-
i got undone by bad play that turned into an un-bad beat..... and the bad play was all mine.
reraised all in on flop with nut flush draw and overcard - other guy had top set, and it held. oops
-
Well Scouse is at his best on my table, calling a raise with J8 and flopping a straight, at which point the raiser went all-in with KK to lose virtually all his chips and double Scouse up. They both expressed mild reservations about each other"s play.
-
Scouse in "ATC shocker" ;D
-
Wow...172 in a $22 satellite. Looks like seats are going to be hard to come by on Thursday evening.
-
yeah thanks for that des, my keyboard will be steaming from how quick i will be typing... ;D
-
Dewi just done me for big pot hitting his 5%er on the river grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr looks like i wont be playin Walsall Woop Woop. I hate this game.
-
bigredders you didnt have 75 suited did ya?
-
Me gone. J8 not good enough on a JJ99 board when the A came on the river and gave AJ a nicer full house.
I run soooooo good.
-
lol, unusually not had aces....guy reraised me all in on the turn with 3rd pair (pocket 5s) then spiked his 5 on the river!!
wouldnt be so bothered if i wasnt up against such stalwarts of the clickfest carnage, such as daniel....just dont have all his tricks! ;D ;D

well it was aa v kk, I just gone after hitting a set on flop, where oppo hit runner runner to over house me on river, gl all left
-

At least I can watch 24 without having to record it and watch it later.
-
watch it at same time
watch me go out at 9:10

aint even bothering explaining this! if you think i played it bad then u need to learn to play lol
-
couldn"t hit a barn door tonight, not even had a hand worth playing, it really had been a dire first hour, and its s..t or bust time now
-
I don"t actually see anything wrong with it; for a start the raise was still only a small portion of the stacks at that stage.
-
QQ vs AJ all-in preflop
hit top set flop
only to lose to runner runner striaght
suck ass
-
:as: ad beat by kc jd
finger exercises being done ready for clickfest
-
Sigh..
-
All-in short stacked: KK beaten by KQ, with QQ on flop.
Hey ho. Try again tomorrow :)
-
lose half my stack AQ vs K7
then get them back 75 vs A10
-
out 36th
AK v KK
cant believe I didn"t win as A rag had been sucking out big style on my table
-
Well what a turn around, winning every race, going in in front and winning! Now 3rd, fingers crossed should okay ;)
-
Out in 35th.
:as: jc in the BB
blinds 750/1500
cutoff raises to 3k, I shove for 8k total and get called with 8h 8s
board comes js jd 7c, oh happy days,
9s, okay a bit worried, no eight, no ten is my shout
8d
He was ahead to start, so why draw it out ipoker ?
GL to all left in ;D
-
i shouldnt be surprised but there are lot of bad beats flying round tonight!
-

yep well played qualifiers!!!!

That was the closest piece of hanging on ive ever been through.
Crippled when I called an allin 7d 9d with my ad1 td only to see the flop bring a 7h and no improvement for me. This left me with 1000 in chips with blinds 1000/2000.
Doubled up with 44 couple of hands later then more success with 44 again left me with about 7k.
In the end I hung on desperately and finished with about 2000 in chips. Phew! :P

Really pleased to qualify last night - but not of course without some luck!

Sorry to those on the receiving end but it was nice to be on the right end for a change ;D

Correct me if I am wrong, but I cant see there being any extra money.. I would have thought that $150 for a £75 seat is not a bad exchange rate anyway in this current climate, never mind getting any expensis..
Keep quiet about expensis would be my advice if you have qualified

edit: thread now started in hand analysis http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=2530.0 (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=2530.0)
OK just busted, question though?
And I am using this as a learning point because I may have missed something.
blinds 300/150
ME on the button with $2195.00 AQ off
raise in mid position from A to 3x standard raise. $900 with KJ off
I push all in, A has 3090.00 behind.
so $1295 to call.
with the 900 + 2195 + 300 + 150 =3545 in pot to call
2.73:1 is that pot odds to call?
considering it is over a third of stack to call
I was called and the answer given was pot odds, I am not so sure
Comments please as this will help my game
Thanks
-
sooper dooper standard IMO
he was pot committed here and when he raises a third of his stack he probably aint folding.....ever
-

really?...what is he beating with kjo..only commited $900 so easy to walk away?

anyone wanna sell their Walsall seat? I"m ready and waiting, and happy to do a deal on any cash won.

Put this on the hand analysis board later mate, it"ll get lost on this thread. Think he could have folded here for the record. Pot-odds is often a euphemism for s*d it I call.

didnt he have t ostart the hand with 3990?..bet $900..then had $3090 "behind" when jb went all in
I"m learning too, so not EVER questioning your thoughts, just surprised that this is std play..even if your saying a 1/3
-
OK just busted, question though?
And I am using this as a learning point because I may have missed something.
blinds 300/150
ME on the button with $2195.00 AQ off
raise in mid position from A to 3x standard raise. $900 with KJ off
I push all in, A has 3090.00 behind.
so $1295 to call.
with the 900 + 2195 + 300 + 150 =3545 in pot to call
2.73:1 is that pot odds to call?
considering it is over a third of stack to call
I was called and the answer given was pot odds, I am not so sure
Comments please as this will help my game
Thanks
so after the blinds of 450 and his 900 and your 2195 thats 3545 and its 1295 more to call so he is getting just under 3/1 to call and he has 3090 back in this when you are playing for 10th place its a fold but in other comps its a call when your going for the top finnish position

ok proper intrigued now...3-1 odds (just under)..he has KJ..he must know he is behind a range of an all in re-raise..so wot is the thinking / calculating required.
kj..6 cards to improve...though are the 3 jacks live (thus pair j) to the re-raise all in?..and possilbe already a king out..so maybe only 2 cards to catch?..38 cards left..16% if 6 cards? (6.25-1)???
where is NOBLE1 when u need him!!!

well that was ugly, had two hands in 1hr 45mins pkt 10`s and pkt 9`s doubled up on the 9`s just after first break. got to be the worst set of cards ive seen in a long time. just had to happen tonight lol. eventually called raise when on BB with A8 suited, other guy had AJ so that how it went.
gl to all those who qualify

its a bad raise with k/j in middle pos i would not make the call myself but he was asking the question on the odds and you have to remember it is ipoker and if your getting the odds its a call

Congrats to everyone who qualified tonight. Especially Scouse - was a gutter when he put me out in 20th (my AQ in BB against his millionth shove, only to find he has the goods this time with AA) - thought Scouse played really well in ater stages stealing blinds left right and centre - stopped me stealing the guy"s blind to my left who was sitting out on numerous occassions...
WP all...
See you at the rebuy tomorrow - i"ll be gambling like crazy so beware! lol...

Ok - On Monday I won a seat in the Sat - my first APAT national event - woop!
Stupid question time.
So what do I do now? Do I have to email APAT with my real name to match my BSq username - Do I just turn up and quote my username?
PS This may have been sent out in an email from Blue Square but my inbox was full so I may have bounced it.
Oh and I"m from Walsall. So if anyone wants tips of the local delights and sights *ahem* just let me know!

-
I"m sure someone official will come along - but if you"ve won a seat - you"re in. You don"t have to do anything, just turn up on the day and play! That"s how it worked last season anyway.

Well done. You need to do nothing more than turn up on the 7th February to play. You will need to register with the casino if you are not already a member, and you should look out for a "players briefing" on the forum that will be posted during the week before the event.
We already have your details from your forum and blue sq sign-up , so no problem.

Can"t believe I folded that flush draw. Deviated from the Plan. Not a good move.
:D

Gone in 44th. Cards dried up, had them all early doors.
13BBs and I"ve got TT, raise, big stack shoves and I have to call. He has AQ, flops the flush draw, turn"s a blank, river"s an ace.
Fun whilst it lasted.
Not sure what I"m going to do now about the clickfest...
-
if everyone had just rebought 20 times we could have all automatically qualified, sadly it was just me and I didn"t ::)
-
Unlucky Dan. My cards dried up when our table broke. Then managed to flop a set against two pair and happy days.
Hmm clickfest .... not your strong point.

23rd tonight!!!
Had K Q with only 6 BB left, guy with 44 had raised and tbh had to call my all in
A little gutted again, but have got the clickfest tomorrow, and have played quite well through the week in these satellites, so am a lot less fearful than maybe I was before!
Hopefully will see you all in Walsall!!!

Very close, with a bit more luck - who knows?
You were the one saying that you didn"t have the game to play in APAT events weren"t you (or am I mixing you up with someone else)?
I hope you see now that there is a whole range of skill levels in APAT events, and if you"ve got half a game, you"re good enough to do well (we all need that bit of luck, I need more than most!).

You need to find a better place to exchange your money? Its about 1.5 to the pound about $40 dollars left still waiting for mine though when do we get it lol
£75 quid is removed from your prize for the seat. The rest is paid into your BlueSQ account.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I cant see there being any extra money.. I would have thought that $150 for a £75 seat is not a bad exchange rate anyway in this current climate, never mind getting any expensis..
Keep quiet about expensis would be my advice if you have qualified
