I"ve spent a small fortune on a new pc just so that it"s reliable enough to get me through the clickfest. (Last year it once crashed 2 minutes before 9pm)

Now that"s dedication. (or stupidity)

Personally, I think a certain Lee Mulligan (Welsh champion in season 1) showed us all what dedication was.

Lee travelled from Southampton to Edinburgh on the day of the Scottish Amateur Championship, without a seat, in the hope of securing one on the day via the reserve list. He was there 3 or 4 hours before the casino opened.

The reserve list is something compiled on the day by Des on the doorstep of the venue. Folk from this list take seats people give up on the day.

Oh, and his dedication got him a seat.

Dedication is travelling over the water without a seat with Scouse Bayliff in the car. Driving the whole way to Edinburgh and being at the casino hours before the event only to get so drunk I fell of my chair and donked of all my chips half hour before the end of day one Woop Woop!!  Then driving down to Southampton from Edinburgh with the worst hangover ever 10 hours of hell. Dedication or stupidity cant tell which, I"m on shandies this season.

i got undone by bad play that turned into an un-bad beat..... and the bad play was all mine.

reraised all in on flop with nut flush draw and overcard - other guy had top set, and it held. oops

Well Scouse is at his best on my table, calling a raise with J8 and flopping a straight, at which point the raiser went all-in with KK to lose virtually all his chips and double Scouse up. They both expressed mild reservations about each other"s play.

That was the closest piece of hanging on ive ever been through.

Crippled when I called an allin  7d 9d with my  ad1 td only to see the flop bring a  7h and no improvement for me. This left me with 1000 in chips with blinds 1000/2000.

Doubled up with 44 couple of hands later then more success with 44 again left me with about 7k.

In the end I hung on desperately and finished with about 2000 in chips. Phew! :P

Correct me if I am wrong, but I cant see there being any extra money.. I would have thought that $150 for a £75 seat is not a bad exchange rate anyway in this current climate, never mind getting any expensis..

Keep  quiet about expensis would be my advice if you have qualified

£75 quid is removed from your prize for the seat.  The rest is paid into your BlueSQ account.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I cant see there being any extra money.. I would have thought that $150 for a £75 seat is not a bad exchange rate anyway in this current climate, never mind getting any expensis..

Keep  quiet about expensis would be my advice if you have qualified

LOL...nice try Daff....nice try!!

Dont get much levelling on this forum but thats a classic

WP to All who qual"d.

That sooperdooper PC and nice big screens suiting you OK SirPerc?

Actually I did misread a hand on one occasion but that was Pokertracker covering the cards. (That"s my excuse for raising with J4 - I thought it was an A)

I also miss the beep beep beep when multitabling but I know your on the case  ;D

One Satellite down, two to go.

Tonight is a $10 +$1 freezout with one package (£75 seat + expenses) for every $150 in the prizepool.

Currently 42 players in, so nearly 3 packages available.

Good Luck

If I play tonight and qualify do I get 20,000 chips?

I don"t know, some people aren"t just happy that they have a seat.  Think of those less fortunate than yourself.  All they have to look forward to is a clickfest, and there"s you saying please sir, can I have some more.   ;D

edit: thread now started in hand analysis http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=2530.0 (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=2530.0)

OK just busted, question though?

And I am using this as a learning point because I may have missed something.

blinds 300/150

ME on the button with $2195.00 AQ off

raise in mid position from A to 3x standard raise. $900 with KJ off

I push all in, A has 3090.00 behind.

so $1295 to call.

with the 900 + 2195 + 300 + 150 =3545 in pot to call

2.73:1 is that pot odds to call?

considering it is over a third of stack to call

I was called and the answer given was pot odds, I am not so sure

Comments please as this will help my game

Thanks

so after the blinds of 450 and his 900 and your 2195 thats 3545 and its 1295 more to call so he is getting just under 3/1 to call and he has 3090 back in this when you are playing for 10th place its a fold but in other comps its a call when your going for the top finnish position

ok proper intrigued now...3-1 odds (just under)..he has KJ..he must know he is behind a range of  an all in re-raise..so wot is the thinking / calculating required.

kj..6 cards to improve...though are the 3 jacks live (thus pair j) to the re-raise all in?..and possilbe already a king out..so maybe only 2 cards to catch?..38 cards left..16% if 6 cards? (6.25-1)???

Congrats to everyone who qualified tonight. Especially Scouse - was a gutter when he put me out in 20th (my AQ in BB against his millionth shove, only to find he has the goods this time with AA) - thought Scouse played really well in ater stages stealing blinds left right and centre - stopped me stealing the guy"s blind to my left who was sitting out on numerous occassions...

WP all...

See you at the rebuy tomorrow - i"ll be gambling like crazy so beware! lol...

Ok - On Monday I won a seat in the Sat - my first APAT national event - woop!

Stupid question time.

So what do I do now? Do I have to email APAT with my real name to match my BSq username - Do I just turn up and quote my username?

PS This may have been sent out in an email from Blue Square but my inbox was full so I may have bounced it.

Oh and I"m from Walsall. So if anyone wants tips of the local delights and sights *ahem* just let me know!

I"m sure someone official will come along - but if you"ve won a seat - you"re in.  You don"t have to do anything, just turn up on the day and play!  That"s how it worked last season anyway.

Well done.  You need to do nothing more than turn up on the 7th February to play.  You will need to register with the casino if you are not already a member, and you  should look out for a "players briefing" on the forum that will be posted during the week before the event.

We already have your details from your forum and blue sq sign-up , so no problem.

Gone in 44th.  Cards dried up, had them all early doors.

13BBs and I"ve got TT, raise, big stack shoves and I have to call.  He has AQ, flops the flush draw, turn"s a blank, river"s an ace.

Fun whilst it lasted.

Not sure what I"m going to do now about the clickfest...

Very close, with a bit more luck - who knows?

You were the one saying that you didn"t have the game to play in APAT events weren"t you (or am I mixing you up with someone else)?

I hope you see now that there is a whole range of skill levels in APAT events, and if you"ve got half a game, you"re good enough to do well (we all need that bit of luck, I need more than most!).

You need to find a better place to exchange your money? Its about 1.5 to the pound about $40 dollars left still waiting for mine though when do we get it lol
