Hey guys :)

Well I wished everyone good luck yesterday and I got through to the final day,

So good luck to everyone today :D (Hopefully I"ll follow suit and stay till the end again ;) )

Going to be a great day of poker! Strangely I dont think it will take too long to get to 30 players due to the short and middle stacks... Will be quite interesting anyway!

See you at the tables (or the laptop by the toilets....)

Three exits

Short stack Pu Quan at the hands of Andrew Duncan

Colin Oldacre A3 at the hands of George Bedi A 10

David Robinson versus Scott Thacker

Robinson"s was an interesting one

Thacker raised on the button

Robinson called with  :2d: :2h: in the BB

and pushed on a  6c 4d :3s: flop

Safe you would think, except Thacker had chosen to steal with  6h 4h

40 left

25th Ben Walton...rather surprising this

"an expert play that went SOOOOOOO wrong!"

He raised UTG to 23,000 with  8h 6h (do we see where this is going?)

folds to BB who calls

flop  jd ts 7c

both check

turn  8c

BB bets 20,000, Ben raises to 40,000 leaving 23,000 behind

BB insta-calls

River  4c

Ben is "committed" (will be in more ways than one I feel)

and calls for the rest....

the BB was  Scott Thacker, with  jh th

say it quietly but LOL Donkaments!!!

Ok, easy....

Come off at J10, as you come off the slip road go right round the roundabout (and traffic cones!).. follow that road down to the next roundabout and turn left. Follow this road down the hill straight over the traffic lights and pass matalan on your left, you then come to a big roundabout where staples is infront of you, take a right here, then sharp first left and you are there. Easy Peasy.

As you"re female...

Turn right at the shops (hold you"re hands with the palms facing away - point your thumbs at each other, the left hand makes the "L" shape, the other is your right hand).  Go past the big tree, at the pretty roundabout take the second exit, and you"ll see some more shops.  Avoid the temptation and go straight on.  As you"re not male, stop and ask someone for directions.

Hope that helps.

Just got back from there.  Great weekend even though I fell jut a little short of maybe 1 hr of making final day..!!!

3 of us went down there, myself, Gerard (The Duke), and Rich Offless...  We all agreed to give 10% each of any winnings to the other 2 players, so I now have a vested interest...  The Duke Came home with 19th posn so made some from there, just need RichEO to win it now to get another return... Worries me though that he has become the most agressive..!!!  But, it could work..

Come on RICHEO..!!!!

Thacker 1,500,000

and now Mike Chapman is OUT in 3rd

Thacker limps on the button

Ower and Chapman complete and check

Flop

Ower checks

Chapman bets 150,000..pot bet

Thacker folds

Ower check raises all in

Chapman has a monster dwell...eventually convinces himself to call..undoubtedly aware that Ower could have a lot or not a lot...

Ower turns over  ks js

Chapman kd 5c

A  6d on the turn gives split possibilities but the  8h knocks him out

No sir, it"s perfectly fine to slow play but I think with KP"s image being quite LAGgy he wouldn"t bother slow playing medium pairs- would probably think he could get value then and there- could be wrong however.

we are on a 5 minute break

KP has a slight advantage, generally by betting "orphan" pots post flop

could go either way

KP starts a new job in Cardiff at 8.30am!!

that might be interesting...

Speaking to Gareth on the AA hand he himself had been trapping pre-flop with 88

In retrospect, it could have all gone in pre-flop

so he"s optimistic given he is still there!

Gareth re-raises with  9c 9s

Scott goes for it, Gareth calls

board  :3s: :2d: 4c

Oohs go up

turn  jh

river  td

and we have Gareth Ower as the European Amateur Poker Champion winning £3,750 and a GUKPT Grand Final Seat

A big thanks to Rich, Des and Tony for all their work. What a great tounry.

Just read through the updates, very nice. Although there was one mistake, I didn"t call someone and bust them AQ vs 1010 to go to 800k, that was the other chip daddy who did that. I didn"t donk off 500k+ on the last few hands before the final! (Just 250k :()

WELL DONE KP !

Rejmak, am I right in thinking the "stupid bet" you were referring to was when you lost 40000 chips by accidently "mucking" your cards against Mike Chapman? If it was, then all I can say is that you must have played a blinder after that to have finished as high as you did, so well played. I was sitting to your left at the time and like you I was pleasantly surprised to hear Andrew Duncan supporting you afterwards. This was my first live freezeout outside Las Vegas and my assumption was that most players would take any chance to bury an opponent. The fact that Andrew said so much to try and keep your spirits up says a lot about the spirit of APAT but also says an awful lot about Andrew himself.
Incidently, The final results show that I was in one hell of a difficult seat at that point. Mike Chapman to my left, then to my right, in order, Marcin Rejmak,Andrew Duncan then Surah Shah. Tough spot that.

Hi Guys,

Andrew Duncan here of 9th place fame - that"s exactly 1 hand at the final table!!

Wanna congrats all involved for a great couple of days. Going home after day 1 on 28k chips felt as if I was going to have a wasted 200+ miles round trip on the Monday but as it turned out I hit some hands early and managed to cash. Ended up staying to the end and watched a fantastic heads up battle. Well done to KP!

Special mention to Marcin, I felt so gutted for him when he lost 40K+ chips on a complete misunderstanding. He was playing fantastic up till then and his english let him down not his poker. I just pointed out to him that the ave stack at the time was 42K and his 40K left was therefore not a disaster. He took some convincing though! He also took a lot of convincing that  td th was not in great shape against Mike"s  qh qs especially considering that someone had mucked a 10 so he actually saved the extra 18k or so. He ended up sleeping in his car that night and came back and won £600 - great work. That"s a lot of zloty"s!!

Quote

I waited a couple of rounds and then stole some blinds once he calmed down  ;)

See you all at the next event.
