Title: Toe'd in the Hole
Post by: rubertoe on January 16, 2009, 17:42:34 PM
Some of you may know this some of you may not - But i have been abstaining from online Poker (since my exit from the national) untill the National League starts in a couple of weeks

My reasons for the exile have already been given so i wont bore with the details - but i thought i"d let you know how i"m getting on!

Well after making the decision to give up online Poker on the Sat/Sunday i decided that i would find something else to fill my time and all i managed to realise that there is absolutly FA on TV on Sundays - unless of course you have SKy which is an entirly Different Matter -  and that it takes a lot of effort to plan and Execute a Roast Dinner. Although i may have found a new Carear path I always fancied being a Chef! (If the WSOP ME win doesnt happen that is - You gotta have dreams)

This was not really important as i had gone a day or two without playing before so it didnt really bother me all that much.

Then we come to Monday - Now this was strange for me - Work as normall (obviously Poker doesnt pay my bills), nothing strange about that - but my normal routine is to get home from work about 5ish - fire up the PC and the Play a few SNG"s untill the missus get"s home a couple of hours later - Back to Sunday and the leftovers - I proceed to Make Soup (rather than Play)!!!

FFS Soup i hear your cry - I couldnt believe it either there i was - Chicken Carcass Simmering away with a cookbook on the Side - doing something that i never dreamt i"d be doing during Poker time! luckily for me this trend never continued for the rest of the week! (although me and GF do share the Cooking)

Tuesday - Much as Monday - Work etc - then Home and i am now filling my Poker time Playing PS3 which is a nice distraction (and a nice reminder that i can play poker as this was bought from a Poker winnings) but i can see that my Girlfriend has noticed that the PC hasnt been on for 2/3 days and not a poker site has been opened - She likes to moan about the noise that the virtual cards make when dealt! She plays - but she isnt worried if she dont. So she enquires as to why i havent been playing poker and i proceed to tell her about the exile - She Massages the ego telling me i am good player etc and if i wanna play then Do. I"m Adamanet that the Exile shall Continue!

Wednesday - there is Footie on, we have guests and i like to have a bet on the game when my team aint playing , but i am also now 4 days into my break and i am starting to get the urge to Play again!

Thursday - The Day i Cracked (but it aint all bad)!!!

I Decide today is the day that i shall return to the Online Poker World, but from the outset i have laid down 1 rule that that is still sort of keeping me in exile!!

I will play anything but Hold'em,

leaving me with Stud, Omaha, Draw anything really - So i have been cracking on with some PLO 6max SnG"s and some Cash 7 card stud - both at lower limits and i must say that not really having played much of either of them i am holding my own and making a Small profit along the way - So for me the next few weeks shall see me playing incresingly more varieties which will inturn hopefully improve my holdem game.

I must say that at the lower ($1-5 sng 10c/20c) levels the play of the Omaha and Stud are terrible and i will be doing my very best to take advantage off this untill the National league starts.

I"ll update over the weekend as to how i get on - Unfortunately the Home Game has been Cancelled due to lack of numbers - which is shame as this would be my only chance to play Holdem for a while and i was looking forward to it - but as the Girlfriend is Out on saturday - i will of course be firing up the PC and playing some badddddoooooogggggiiiii or 2-7 or maybe even some Backgammon!!!

Finally Just like to say good luck to all those that won seats to Walsall - its gonna be Quality!!! (well maybe some of the play might not be) Enjoy ;D

I am now a full week - give or take a few Hours - into the Texas Holdem Cold Turkeyathon and i must say that i am starting to miss it! Dont get me wrong i like playing the other variants but to be honest you cant beat the thrill of NLHE! - the cadilac of Poker! as Doyle Calls is and who am i a to disagree with anything that he might say about poker!

I Havent played anything other than SnG Omaha for the last 48 hours and having played 16  - 20 tourny"s i am showing a break even result - less the rake* which is ok - but there are some donks - but this is to be expected in a game like omaha - where your never that much of a favourite with 2 cards to come!!

I may crack and play a NLHE tourny later today as it is a freeroll - $2kgtd - and only about 400 runners and half of them sitout or bust out in the first 20 mins so - i may have to play as it is such Valoooo . But otherthan that there are a few Omaha Tourny;s that i have my Eye on and also i am looking for a stud tourny with a bit of added value - so i"ll let you know how that goes - or whether the NLHE demons rear there ugly heads again!!!

One Last word - the amount of money that is banded about for Manchester City to buy Kaka is absolutly ridiculous and should never be allowed to happen - Dont get me wrong Kaka is a great player - but C"mon its obscene (regardless of how much the owner is worth)As a Gooner myself i would like nothing more than to see my club spend money - but Wenger will not cripple the Club! - i hope that this transfer does happen - but not for the money and it has to be for footballing reasons - and lets be honest it cant be - its Man City FFS and there not even the best club in Manchester let alone England!!!

** the Rake sucks at the lower level SNG"s

Wow -  You know you have made it when you appear on the APAT radio show!

Hopefully this will Direct alot of people to my blog!

Just to clarify something that was mentioned in the show and this is where does the name "rubertoe" come from - (It was funny that des mentioned ivanhoe! as that was the name of our dog!!) but that isnt where the name comes from!! They are right and it is just as boring as mentioned it is just derived from Roberto and developed into rubertoe about 15 years ago and you know a nickname is gonna stick when your mum starts yelling "rubber Dinner is ready"!" (This obviously when i still lived at home, my mum doesnt ring me up to tell me to come home for dinner).

Anyway still no NLHE -- and a day of Stud ahead of me!!!

Ps - this will be the last post that mentions food - now i"m off to the butchers!! ;D

Well it seems that i have opened up a can of worms!

I never really thought about blogging when i first made the "its a fresh begining" Post - it all started with a rant about me not being good enough - which i am addressing through abstainence and shared learning (ie google-) - But really as un apdate of how i was getting on!*

And now however it seems that i must continue _ i have Fans (well Des and Leigh Liked it)! - So we now find ourselves thinking of things to write - me -  I like to waffle!!

So i"ll Try and Talk about anything and everything (except cooking) that comes to mind! be it poker (I cant wait for the national league to start - i am gonna post Hand histories and invite comment), My Life work or whatever!

Why is that i cant follow one bit of advice that i am trying to drum into myself?
"dont go broke in an unraised pot" simple. but i just cant seem to absorb this info and i find myself repeating it to myself time and time again - admitedly mostly after exiting tournies!!(For those that have played with me you know what i Mean - See avatar!) but like i say i am trying to address this and there are a couple of people that i would like to Thank!

Both Eck and Noble1 took time to PM me after my initial post, and this sort of thing reminds me of why i Post here and am becoming a more active participant - and for that i thank them as i can only see good times ahead!!

North London FTW

Good luck all ;D

Well I Finally Cracked - Completly this time!

After all the Variations that i have been playing - i played a NLH tourny last night -

$5 - 245 runners and i managed to finish 15th - which was not to bad - but i should have made the final table! Was it worth me taking time away from NLH - i think that it has been benificial as when i played last night i really concentrated from the outset and started to make notes on the players ( and noticing betting patterns and this most certainly helped (i do make notes occasionally - but it is normally some vague sh*te after a donkey play by someone) -  and by identifying the weak players and confronting them - three betting and re-raisng them i managed to acrue chips without really to much risk!! i was only all in on the hand that i went out with - pocket tens (me) against KJ (villan) all in pre - so i was more than happy!!

Other than that - Just normall Work for me - I am on a boring Management training course at the moment - i can tell you it is tedious - but i am getting paid to sit and do F All all day so it aint to bad!

I"m sort of following your example here.Monday to Friday are now non online playing days for me.I"m into the second week now,and am not missing it in the slightest.I"m actually looking forward to playing at the weekend and not feeling like it was a chore, which it had become for me.
The reason i stopped was mainly because it felt like i was taking a lot of beats, this eventually made me play scared and i was laying down mid pairs and the like ,when only a min raise had come infront of me.My confidence was rock bottom so decided to take a break.
To fiil the void there was only one thing for it.I bought a dart borad, watch out Phil Taylor  :D

Nice one Jack,

I didn"t play any poker last night - I think that like jack it is good to take a break from the game every now and again - As like jack, i too suffered from the same symptoms - Loss of confidence, playing too tight (Scared really - I"ll admit it) and having played only one NLH Tourney - let alone hand - in the last few weeks - i think that when i am ready to play again properly,  i will feel so much better for it - because that hunger to learn will hopefully return!!

Good Luck with the darts mate - i think it is only a matter of time before there is clash of Poker Clubs across the oche/Baize at darts/pool/anything!!!! We should perhaps re-name it Arrows & Poker Association & Tour!!!!! ;D ;D

I just wanted to elaborate on a post that i made today in North London Poker Club!

It has to do with the regional and my thoughts on the day! - It was a great day - although i am not a lover of Self dealt games - it had a great structure and the turnout was great, i played at the UK Championship regional satellite at the Vic. Anyway, To elaborate - I remember talking to Richard Iwaniak and to be honest i was slightly oiled at this time after being knocked out somewhat earlier! But i recall that he was a nice guy and I am glad that he is the Skipper of the Winning Club!

The reason that Richard and i were talking is that My Mrs and His Mrs (Sorry if that is rude - Its not meant to be) were both still in the satellite and they were sat side by side, with Linda on Tanya"s* Left!!!! (trouble) and we were both railing!! So were just coming up to a break and tan , who had seen Linda on TV and knew she was a good player, is a bit tipsy and giggly at this point and when big hand develops, where Tanya (Approx 12k) is in the SB (200) and Linda with 7k in the BB. Tan has Pocket Tens and makes what i assume is a standard raise to which Linda just flat calls. Flop is rainbow rags under Tans Tens!! Woohoo - you can virtually see it in her face, Linda on the other hand is Sitting there Looking out from beyond her glasses, Tanya wants to find out - so she makes a bet of about the pot only to see Linda push on her!! her face drops but she knows she has to call with that hand and that flop - with those chips in the pot! So in goes the money Cards are Revealed Tanya shows her Tens only to be crushed when Linda turns over The Kings!!

With the levels rising - it wasn"t to long after the break that she hit the rail but she played well and we enjoyed the tourney - and she will never forget that hand that she played with Linda!!! but it wasn"t all bad, i played a bit of cash and managed to Double through my buy in so all in all it was a good day - And the regional will be sorely missed!

But this maybe gives me an idea - Why should the clubs themselves not organise their own live games?? (Each club could organise their own games, at local Clubs and Sports Clubs etc, chose there own structure, buy in etc as long as agreed by the members of the club,) with more Clubs this year the numbers would be evenly spread - and people shouldn"t have to travel too far - that is if they have chosen the club closest to them!!!!! and these don"t have to be for seats - although that would be great if Des could Chuck in one seat - for the winner of each Event - Taken out of the Prize Pool of each - Credit crunch and all that!!!! But these are just random thoughts!

Nice post Robert and I think NL have a very solid team forming.  We very much hope that players within each club will choose to meet up and play together as the season progresses.  I"ll get in a whole lot of trouble with lots of members if APAT starts offering seats to Nationals though the local games though, so we"ll put that one on the burner and see where we all are for Season Four.

Well after the Dissapointment of being shot down in flames by Des on a recent post - i thought i"d Cheer myself up and play another NLH MTT - Which was only my second time playing NLH since the online championship disaster!

But once again - managed to cash (all be it not enough to cover my Buy in), i finished 11th out of 105 runners and probably made a bit of a mistake that lead to me being crippled!

At this point we are playing 6 handed - and are two spots away fom the final table - Heres what happened and then i"ll explain what i am thinking!

Utg +1 Rasies to 2000 (blinds are 500/1k) and he has about 2500 behind and i am on the Button with about 14k and I have  :as: jh and push it all in to try to Isolate the one player who has min-rasied for half of his stack, who i have seen turn over some marginal hands to say the least, so i am confident that it is a race or I have him dominated - But i wasnt Happy when the BB - calls my All in with about 1K less than me!!

Anyway UTG +1 Has  ah  8c, I have :as: jh and the BB has  th td , with the  ts in the Window on the flop and i am crippled and Go out 2 hands later with a suited K10.

The reasons i did what i did (shoving) was that i belived that i had the UTG +1 Player beat and i didnt want to smooth call and allow the blinds in cheap as this would have been a disaster and weak (plus I had had some succes in Stealing this particular BB), I was also thinking that even if i am beat by UTG +1 i"ll still have 10k and have a good shot at winning ( the chip leader at this point had 40K) and this is one of the things that i have changed in my Approach to NLH - Whats the point of playing unless your playing to win!!!!

So i Ship it and get a bit unlucky to have the BB wake up with a big hand, but i was happy enough with the way that i played and also i think that cutting down the number of hours that i am playing makes me a better player when i do play!!

Anyway - off to work now - i gotta fund my Cider/Poker habits somehow!!

Have a good day All!

Pretty standard hand there (though dont know what UTG expected to achieve with his half stack min raise??). Ul to run into a big hand in the BB, so minus the ace you were an underdog. You could have easily won that hand and been well up there.

Well It is Now two weeks Since my Self imposed Online Poker Sabbatical - and the Wheels have finally come off!

I would now say that i am ready to put in some NLH Table time ahead of the National league starting, If i am honest i am starting to miss it - Don"t get me wrong - i have enjoyed playing Omaha and Stud but the variance sucks at Omaha and Stud is just too slow!

Just to give you some Figures - I have played approx 25 Omaha Sng <$5 for a total profit of $9 and i probably have played about 10 hours of Stud 10/20c for a profit of about $1.20 per hour!!! although i am winning - it is just not Holdem so i am going Back.

Those that have read this Know that i have already played some NLH so its not like i gave it up really - but i have only Played 3 NLH games over the last two weeks - 2xMTT and a 20 man SnG all of which i managed to cash in (SnG i won), so with those solid results behind me i feel it is now time to not just dip the toe in but to fully immerse my self into the game again!!

So with that in mind i will be fireing up several Accounts and Playing NLH all Day - I"ll keep a record of everything that i play today and post Later so people can see how i am getting on!!

Good luck all!

Just a Little Update on the NLH - I played 3 MTT"s Yesterday Crashed out early in two ($2 Buy in) and had a final Table for $57 ($5 buy in) in the Middle of the two crashouts!

All in all i feel alot more comfortable playing MTT"s now, as compared to When i played the national - i seem to be concentrating more and not panicking when i get short or even not worrying so much about getting My money from behind or with big draws!! or even getting knocked out. (as long as i dont make stuoid mistakes or play weak then i will be happy!!!)

What i plan on doing for the next week or so is to play one MTT a day until the national as well as playing a bit of cash!!!

It Allways Makes me laugh this time of year when i see a Mass of New Forumites all begging to buy A ticket for a Seat at walsall!! All these people so desperate to get a seat that they are willing to Offer a percentage of themselves should they win!!

My Suggestion to those people that do not have tickets is, maybe, like most of the other people that are desperate for tickets is to either be aware that there is a clickfest - or try and Satelite in!! Rather than just turn up and beg for a seat!! it unbecoming!!

I havent played any poker at all since Sunday, when APAT took over the 6kgtd on the I Poker network, Chippacrual, Luckybuger, Loggie 66 and myself all took to the virtual felt looking for a deep run! and if i recall i went the deepest but none of us managed to cash - I came 215 of 1900+ runners just shy of the Money when i got it all in on the flop with bottom Pair and a flush draw, only to be called by top pair (i got crippled a few hands earlier when pocket 8"s lost a flip!)!

I seem to be playing better in recent weeks - not to sure what to put it down to - maybe just less Time at the felt - I have started to cash regularly - i"d say 1.5/4 Mtts i"ll cash but i am just not picking up enough Deep Deep Finishes!! which i hope to remedy!!

Looking forward to the national"s,

Roll on Poker Sundays!!!

1) i am Looking for a new Name for my Blog and am struggling to think of anything to call it! ( i am open to suggestion)

2) Don"t you hate a miss Click!!

The reason that i mention the Above is that due to a miss click last night i managed to burn through a whole buy in, I was playing 5/10 NLH and Had just Sat Down at the Table and waited for the BB - which so far is standard - Anyway the hand in question came only 5 hands latter when I am dealt Kc Jc in the hi-jack seat and after several limper"s - i decide i like the limp too - i know i should be raising - but we don"t always do what we know - We see a flop after no Raise and I have position over the field, Flop Ah, Kd, 3s and it is checked around to me - at this point - i am trying to get the BBC to show me the football Scores and as i wait for the page to load - My table opens - just as i am about to click Play on the radio - and this happens to be in in the same position on the screen as the All in Button!!!!!!! so with 48c in the Pot - i make a massive over raise to $9.85 due to the miss click (i always planned to bet this flop if it is checked as normally any Ace would come in raising) and promptly get called by a Set of threes and there Goes that Buy in!!!!!!

As a result of the Above i Have Taken the Added precaution of now having to approve any all-in actions - but the good news is that i did manage to get the buy in back and i didn"t tilt because of it!!!

The Tittle has been Chosen and will remain forever more.

I just noticed that the Welsh online Championship is on the same weekend as i am away, a friend of mine id getting married soon and its the stag weekend - and if i am honest i am a bit gutted to be missing it really - even after all i said about giving them a miss - i am feeling confident again and sure i will be able to satellite in - oh well still plenty more medal chances in the future -  However the stag weekend is gonna be a blast and i have never been to Antwerp before either! I am looking forward to the pre Stag poker game next Friday and as i haven"t played any "real" poker for a while it should be a giggle!

Anyway back to now - Just about too kick back - play a few Tourney"s - and have a few ciders!

Happy Day"s

Anyway - i go into the league with a little bit of form having Taken down a massive tourney last night - check this out!!! Pacific Poker Micro stakes £1+10!!! 135 Runners for $40 - it might not be massive but a win is a win!!! and winning breads confidence and bearing in mind that i had given up NLH it is good to see that i can still win the Odd tourney!

So plans for today - Federer V.s Nadal!! Should be a cracker - then round the mother in-laws for Dinner and The Chelsea v Liverpool game and then back in time for a cuppa and the national league!!!

Bocked by Des!!!

Well the league started last night - and with all the anticipation and build up it was great to see over 300 players across the 3 divisions!! and i have never seen so much traffic on the site - I couldn"t keep up with all the updates!!! My first league game was fairly unspectacular - really - i never got much above the Starting stack - I had Tim magnus and Londonlocksmith on my immediate left for most of the first hour - so didn"t really have much chance of Accumulation!! just the odd steal here and there and the occasional missed time 3 barrel bluff!!! Then Just after the break i get moved to a table with 4 team members - one of which decides that it is OK to call my all an 3 -bet with AK off - How dare!!! LOL - anyway - my pocket tens were know where near any match for the AK especially when a King pops up in the window!!!

At least points where scored - even if we never managed any team points - by Richard "Team Captain" Ivaniak and George "londonlocksmith" Bellety - so it is a start and we will win this league by overwhelming the opposition with sheer numbers!! (i am pretty sure we were the best represented in our league).

Anyway - thanks to an act of God - Today is turning into a Snow Day - So looks like it could be a poker fest all day!

I love "adverse Weather Conditions"

I shall hang my head in shame for eliminating a team mate  :(. I think the Blue Square enforcement squad would have shot me if I hadn"t played AK though.

That is OK Simon - i think a few of the team skippers knocked out players from their teams - At least your not that callous!!  ;D

Anyway what with it being Snow Day yesterday and today - I have been playing a few MTT and 40 man SnG"s and have been running hot - i do however have a few confessions that i should make!

I play mainly on Pacific poker - and there is a reason for this - they gave me $5 free when i joined (+EV from the start) and at the time i had just moved in with my GF and money was tight and she wouldn"t let me make a deposit! anyway that was about 18 months ago now and through steady BR management (much tighter than "Jesus" - i doubt I"ll ever go broke on Pacific) I managed to Build it up from $0 - i did go broke at the start - it was inevitable - to my Current BR of just shy of $200 where it now stands!! and along the way i have managed to pick up a few "big" wins of $500+ in free-rolls and Big overlays - but that money was used in the real world so is taken out the BR!

Anyway the reason that i say this as i mention that i am running hot - I am, but at Micro stakes poker!! all of my winnings have come at MTT"s and SnGs of less than <$3 - but netherless a winning player is a winning player!!

Now i just need to transfer this form to Blue sq (where i have made a deposit - and thanks to a forth in the mini league (brag  ;D) am BR"d to play most APAt events) and make a dent in a tourny!!

Its not the taking part that counts it is the winning - Snow day and North London FTW

Well it is only a few more days until the First Live Leg of the season and i have mixed feelings about what is in-store for the season!

Don"t get me wrong the Team have done a great job in organising this and the structures as always is fantastic! - i am just a little peeved that all of the events seem to be in the midlands or the north of England! - i understand this as they are central locations and make it easier for people to get too - with the exception being those that do not drive!! (that would be me) Had i driven i would no doubt have tried to qualify for Walsall and the other events - but as i don"t - i will probably give most of them a miss (the exception being the WACOP of which i plan to play in all 3 events!)!! I am sure that i am not the only one that feels the same! and it is a shame that the biggest population in the UK (London) has no event!

So it looks like the Internet will have to suffice and Deep Stack Poker for the masses will have to be put on hold for now!

Bring back a London event - that is what i say!

I always thought that it was a myth that londoners viewed the midlands, the north of england and "foreign countries under english rule" as dark backward places.

Let me assure you, rubertoe, that public transport links to the casinos in Cardiff, Walsall, Edinburgh, Bolton, Luton and Nottingham are more than adequate with the cost of transport being pretty much the same as petrol costs to these places. (In some cases much cheaper and quicker - with a bit of research)

LOLing at Luton and Cardiff being in the "Midlands"

I forgot that there were events being played at Luton (although this isn"t exactly London and is just about the SE) - as for Cardiff - although that may not be north of London - it is - to be fair - an entirely different country!!!

As for as Londoners views on the situation - Having Attended the university of Staffordshire - my view remains unchanged!

I just thought I"d elaborate on my time in the north!!

I was lucky enough to go to university in the fair old north midlands city that is Know as Stoke on Trent! And i must say that i cannot find fault with living there for 3 years - although My liver might not agree!! I lived on Leek road which was 5 minutes from everywhere that i needed to go to - including the Union - where i was to spend many a night - drinking Alcopops and Kangaroo"s - A cider and Advocaat concoction!!!

And it was here that i discovered Poker after stumbling in one night and switching on the TV and Seeing Late Night Poker..........So Stoke wernt all bad (even if it has been voted the worst city to live in on more than one occasion)

Oh and why to they call Bread Rolls Barm Cakes - I"ll never know??

Well It has been a while and a lot has happened -

We have had the First National "live" event - The Weather has been up and down - and a bit sideways - England"s cricketers continue to defy logic and lose to one of the worst sides in test cricket (although improving) - And Arsenal continue to frustate the hell out of me, oh and i have played a few hands of poker along the way as well!

First i must congratulate Steve "AMRN" Redfern on his win at Wallsall - two solid days of poker - WP sir!!!

Also Congratulations to all those that cashed and everyone that managed to brave the elements to get there, i cant wait for my first live event - which will hopefully be the worlds -all the events!!!!!! - i am slowly talking my girlfreind into it - even promising her i"ll stake her in the ME!!!

Regardless of the BS that appears to have happened i am sure that the majority loved it - i know i was jelous!! and roll on the Next one!

As regards English Cricket - Don (logie66) is reporting so i wont say too much!! but there is like most sports in this country a tendincy to stick with the same people for too long - especially the batting line up, if your not performing your dropped - in this country the menagement are all too easily blamed when it is the players that should take a long hard look at themselves!!!

Arsenal - Why is Eboue still there? why is Adebayor still there?? anyone? Arsene if you reading this - what is happening? - Buy a World class Defensive midfeilder! or just a decent one!!

Poker wise - not a lot really to report - i have however discovered a severe dislike too KK as it apears to get out drawn however i play it - badly mostly - but hey i never claimed to be Ivey!

Arsene if you reading this - what is happening?

I"m sure it"s the first thing he logs onto after training every day Robert  ;D

As for the cricket, now Logie is out there, it"s all gonna change.

I havent really played much poker in the last few days - I have had real world stuff to do and as it is valentines day today - i doubt that i"ll get much poker in today - as i am sure that Tanya will expect me to take her out! but what can you do - sometimes i have to put her first!

I will be playing the League Game tomorrow but will sadly be missing the Welsh online (yes i am back playing the nationals - I cant not - I am now a fully engrossed APAT member - and feel it is a duty to juice the Prizepool wherever possible) - as one of my longest standing friends is getting married in April and it is the stag next weekend and i am off to Antwerp!!!

Not to sure what to make about the choice of antwerp as a Stag destination - but it is the home of Gin and this is one of my favourite tipples! also not sure of if there is a casino there - so maybe no poker next weekend at all (apart from the cash games that will no dobt take place on the Eurostar on the way there and back) - but i am sure that i"ll cope!

Good luck to all those that are lucky enough to play tonight and to all those that have better halves - on nights sacrifice for a whole years peace - its gotta be worth it!!

Good luck all

Well another League game under my belt - Total Points = 0 - Total team Points = 0, well it is a start for the North London team - not a good one but its early doors and i am sure that we will vastly improve - we should, we have nearly a 6th of the Feild playing!!!!

i was however pleased with how i played - i Stole the odd blind - I laid down a straight (beaten by a Higher straight and a FH) - which i was pretty pleased with! and then i managed To pick up kings in the BB and see a raise and a Shove in front of me - Lickety Lick my chops went - Re-shove All in from me - I had about 5.5k with the blinds at 200/400 - The initial rasier - who had played very loose - thinks about it - and After some encouragement from another player - who was not in the hand - and i think is out of order - he calls (he could have folded and still had chips)  and just has me covered - Obviously the MP player is all in - so we See the Board 3 Ways  - Initial raiser Ah Jh - MP all in Jd Jc and me with Two Black Kings -

Unsurprisingly - an Ace Flops in the Window and a J on the turn - Leaving Both the Initail rasier with 4k - MP player with 9k and me out!!!!! instead of winning a 13k pot i am left cursing!!!

oh well thems the breaks - i got the money in good and the poker gods kicked me in the nuts!!

Now - i must get back to my Game - i have Some WACOP seats to pay for.......

Well we are less than 47 hours now till the Stag do meet up - Pints will be ordered at 7:30 pm at london"s King Cross/St Pancreas Station with the Euro-star Leaving For Belgium at 8:30
The First Stop on the way is to Brussels - which i have heard is probably the most boring city in the World - Due to all the EU PC BS that comes out from there - but that is just the first port of call before we head on to our final destination Antwerp (not the usual city of choice of a stag party - but considering the Groom wanted to go to Doncaster??? It will be Heaven) the Home of Jeneveer! Gin to you and I and one of my Favourite tipples - even if it does either make me the nicest?horribilis person i know! but the GF wont be there so i will definitely be cracking on!!

When i get back - i have a poker plan - I need to earn enough money playing poker between now and the WACOP to be able to pay for my seats, Travel and Accommodation -

I will be entering all of the events and will have to pay for them out of Poker winnings - that means that by the time the events roll round - i will have to have enough money in poker accounts to be able to transfer this to my real money account or i will be selling the seats 1 by 1 - it is a bit harsh but me and the Mrs have come to the agreement - pay for the seats out of our money - and if you don"t pay it back with poker money then the seats must be sold!!

Harsh but fair - and as i only have a modest BR - $150 - it will be tough - but it is amazing how something like this focuses your play more!

I have been thinking about my WACOP challenge and how to go about it -

I currently have 2 BR"s online at the moment - One on BSq and one on Pacific - The one on BSq is purely for APAT online events so we can discount that from the challenge (unless i win a national) and that leaves me with about $160 to build on!

i have decided that the only way that i am gonna ever get this to around the $650, which should be enough at least to cover my Fees and Travel for all 3 events, is by grinding away at cash tables - and for me this means Micro Stakes - I plan on continue playing 2x 3/6c cash tables until i have ground out $50 profit to take the BR above $200 and then i shall move up stakes - i plan on playing at least two hours of cash a day and hopefully i can move up to the 5/10c cash tables by the March and then look to move up to the 12/25c as soon as i can get the BR above $350 -

What i plan to do is to purchase the seats and then Pay myself back out of the BR that i am grinding and if i Fail to reach my target then i will have to sell  the seats - so i am not actually loosing out on anything - except punishing myself for not being disciplined!!!

Current BR @ 07:14 = $157.85

i like your idea and you have given me inspiration to win money for the wcoap. i am now going to try what your doing playing local tournys(but not online) and if i dont earn enough for the event(s) that i want to play in then ill sell my seats, i wont worry about accomodation as ill pay for that out of my wages or drive there every day(norwich to nottingham is not that far is it?)

thank you for inspiring me to get back playing poker and build a bankroll for a reason and play well.

The Stag do is over and done with and i am glad to say that i made it back with my liver and Kidneys intact, the Irish Bar in Antwerp does a lovely pint of Guinness!! but other than that Belgium is a HOLE - Brussels being one of the dirtiest cities that i have been too - but a good time was had by all - I even managed to win my Fare on the way over when we played a cash game on the Euro-star - and out flopped KK with my AK to win a 170 euro pot!

Luckily i booked the day off work today as i would have been in no fit state to do anything - Having spent the weekend drinking and eating about 1000 calories all weekend - i honestly feel F***ked - but at least it gives me a chance to put in a good few Hours for the WCAOP challange and i hope to push the BR above the $200 mark today - but we shall see!!

Current BR @ 08:49 = $164.72

I havent quite played as many hands today as i"d hoped!

I started to relapse into my hangover after about 30 hands and after a nap, a shower and a litre of water - i still feel like Crap!!

Hey ho - i"ll recover sufficently to be able to see what i am doing soon enough and then i"ll be back!

Current BR @ 16:02 = $168.81

(still managed to eek out a small profit - through the pain(http://www.smiliegenerator.de/s36/smilies-10364.png))

Its official - i have alcohol related poisoning!!! It is the first time that i have felt this bad since my uni days - but then as the saying goes your only a drink away from being sober and two from being Pissed!

So the BR challenge has taken a bit of a back seat for the last two days - while i have sat here apologising to my Kidneys and promising them a break,

But the Challenge is back on and i have just fired up a couple of Ring Games and it is time to crack on!

Gotta break the $200 mark!!

The BR at the end of this session Stood @ $179.12

The Poisoning is relenting...... But i still don"t feel great - shame my place of work doesn"t sympathise with me as much as i do myself!!

i did manage to play a bit yesterday and found a right fish who was spewing $$ all over the place but then he got abused by another player and left???? Some people just cant Keep Quiet can they!!??

I am now $20 away from the first land mark of $200 that i hoped to reach my the start of march and if i continue playing cautiously - i can see me getting there!! and as i have mentioned previously it is amazing what a challenge can do to focus you!

Now just need for Des to stop teasing us and to release the dates that the seats go on sale and hope that i can Click-fest in - or my efforts will be in vain!
Title: Re: Toe'd in the Hole
Post by: rubertoe on March 04, 2009, 07:36:48 AM
I still haven"t managed to Crack the $200 mark - The BR has taken a bit of a hit and i haven"t been putting in the hours - I just haven"t been feeling myself for the last couple of weeks and what with my specs needing an upgrade i haven"t been able to look at a PC for too long - which is bit of a pain as far as work is concerned!

But now that the WCOAP schedule has been announced i now have 5 month to get to my Target figure - which is now slightly adjusted to just cover the Buy ins - So $450 - $500 should just about do it - but i am also now just thinking about playing the HORSE and the ME (I"d like to play the Omaha - but it is just a bit Awkward with the need to book that extra night in a hotel!) - so I have a new impetus to build the BR - which currently stands @ $176 plus a bit of change!!!

Now i just need to get through a couple of click fests and all will be good! Day 1a for me - probably - maybe if i play the Omaha.........

I cant seem to do anything right at the moment - i decided to take a night off from the Cash games last night and play a few MTT"s - well that was the plan - I am going fairly well in the first one Managed to Chip up to about 6k without any real dramas - but then i get stacked - by a horrible play by the button when i am in the sb and flop top 2 (i had raised from the SB  wit  :as: js) and then lead out for the pot to be called by the Button, who then again Calls the turn (blank) when i bet the Pot - only to hit the gutshot draw on the river that he was hoping to fill!!!! Very next Hand i am all in for about 1200 after a limp (blinds 150 - 300 if i remember) with QQ and get Called by the Limper with AQ only for the turn to seal my fate with an Ace - So i am Tilting and off goes the PC!!!

At least the (dead) Money is in place for the WCOAP seats - £200 might not be a lot of money too some but it is too me for what i essentially see as entertainment (plus the other costs involved in playing Away from London), I"m just glad that Tanya is the one who holds the purse strings or I"d be POLO by now! and wouldnt be able to play (ever)!

I am getting excited about the WCOAP and Just hope that i can secure seats for all of the events! by Hook or by Crook as they say - I"ll be there!!

Just one other thing - I think i have been playing reasonably well in the League games, probably a bit tight - but generally OK, and if anyone has anything to add - or any notes about me then i would appreciate any comments about the way i play or where i can improve - we are all "amateurs" after All.

GL all ;D ;D

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington Chemistry Mid Term Exam.

The answer by one student was so "profound", that the professor shared it with his colleagues via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well:

Bonus Question:

Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle"s Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time.

So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let"s look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle"s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at whichsouls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

made me chuckle -  ;D ;D

And it has arrived this morning - Once finished the book will be returned. with a little surprise for James to show my gratitude

The reason why i am mentioning this is it epitomises the APAT spirit and reminds me that why i am a member. some body i don"t know takes time (and Money - postage isn"t cheap) to help me out and you cant find these people just anywhere!

once again thanks "eck" and I"ll let you all know if/how the book helps my game!

I have Started this Book and already it is helping, by thinking more about ranges and reading flop texture!! I"ll let you know if it REALLY helps though...or like most things you find that only really you can change your ways!!!

League game like Most All this year so far have been a rather drab affair - Manage to start of OK and build a nice stack - through some tight aggression - man i am tight as well (something i am trying to loosen up and maybe at the route of my troubles) - and then manage to loose half of it with AQ Vs a shortish stacks QQ - and then couldn"t find away back (to tight).... pushed for 3k when blinds 150 -300 a25 - with 88 from the Cutoff  - got called by the BB (whom I"d doubled) to finish me off with 10,10... bye out in 30th!

best result so far 19th in round 3 - MUST DO BETTER!!!

Any way my focus turns to the WCOAP - and which if any satellite to play - I Really want to play all the events and if i can SAT in - then it means that there will be more money for the trip and that can only be a good thing - the next thing to consider - which to play - $20 1in10 - $10 1in20 - $5 re-buy 1in??

Probably them all - But a man has gotta do what man has gotta do!

I didn"t play in the $20 sat but i did play last nights $10 - yet to no avail! out in 20th after being Card dead all night - the best hand i saw was 99 all night - but them"s the breaks!!

I wont be playing in the re-buy tonight - i need to conserve the BSq Roll for the League games - so i will be clickfesting in to the ME and the Horse.

Plan for the week -
Wednesday - Work - 6th Anniversary (must not forget card and flowers)
Thursday - Work - Poker - Click-fest - Poker
Friday - Work - Weekend Starts- few beers - Home Game @ 8 - No Click-fest
Sat - shopping - Rugby - Poker - Click-fest - poker
Sun - Poker - Dinner round the In-laws - chillaxation

I may well pop online for a few minutes @ 9pm on Friday but - i may well be begging for a PLO seat in a few weeks - Also it depends on which day ME seat i get - if its Friday then i will play the PLO - subject to a seat - if not then the ME and the Horse! Gotta keep the budget to a min - i am having a hard time convincing the missus that it is gonna be great!

Clickfest tonight - My fastest finger better not let me down!!!

I"ll be here at 8:55 refreshing away - waiting for that all important link - for those ten minutes 8:55 - 9:05 - a lot of us will enter the twilight zone where the only thing that matters in inputting financial details onto a screen and pressing enter - but what a strange 10 minutes they are!!!!

DO NOT DISTRURB BETWEEN 8:55pm and 9:05 PM!!!

I"m in!!! Woohoo!!!

I thought that the Seats would sell out pretty quickly - they do in general but alas - i was able to get a ME Seat - Not going to bother with the PLO now as have chosen Saturday as the preferred Start day - however i am still planning on traveling to Nottingham on the Friday so i can get to go to the card room before the ME starts!!

Probably, i will still try for the HORSE click fest tomorrow and hopefully that will be paid for out of tonight"s Home game winnings!!! ;D

10p20p Cash Game, 7-2 rule in play, Stradles, Dealers Choice and 150 BB max buy in - and a fairly tough game to beat!!! But i do have home field advantage!!!!

Last nights Home game could have been better - i was pretty card dead all evening - 6hours worth and got no action on any of my big hands - so recorded a small loss for the night!

It was a good evening and i think by the end of the evening a few people were a couple of buy ins up/down, and i think that the two newbies had a good time as well!!

Plan for today is to watch a lot of Rugby Union with the odd blue square tourney! I have also been thinking of closing my 888.com account and moving the money to another site - Would most suggest Stars???

Easter Weekend is here - Gotta love that!!

I have had a pretty good start to the weekend so far - Played a Deepstack MTT on Pacific last night $5 1000gtd that i managed to finish third in for a nice healthy start to the weekend!! Unfortunately - i will have to miss the League game this weekend - but it is for a fairly good reason! the Annual Easter home game!!

I play a home game with the same group of guys not as often as I would like, probably about once every 6 weeks and this generally is the only "real poker" that i play, we always have the same discussion though about playing more regularly - once a fortnight - but it is quite difficult to pin down non serious players to a regular game - although there are few more whose interest in the game has grown over the last 6 months.. so this is something to address in the future!!

North London APATers - Sound me out - we can accommodate a few more people depending on the venue!! (just so you know this is small stakes game 10p/20p cash games and annual MTT to celebrate my B"Day)

As far as i am concerned you cant beat a good game of cards with friends that you love, over a few beers and some good food (it is a rule who ever is host feeds the others) - i find nothing makes me more content!

The Blog has taken a bit of a back seat recently as has my ability to make FT in MTTs!! I am focusing most of my time at the moment on MTT"s in preparation for my Assault on the Worlds!!

I manage to build a nice stack early on (well a playable stack anyhow) and then mostly in the middle to late stages prior to the bubble i blow it all by either trying to steal the blinds to much or by generally getting the money in against the short stack pushes and loosing either races or when i am either marginally ahead or marginally behind! AK - Vs Aj and KJ vs J8 are two examples from last nights MTT fail fests!!

Oh well perservereence is the Key and if i am one thing it is a stubborn *******!

I have a weeks holiday from the rat race next week so will play between 4-10 MTTs a day probably (in between decorating and cooking) and Detail all of this here -

I had a bit of free (me) time yesterday evening, Which inevitably meant Poker.

However i took two Beats from some donkey who called my all in shove with 93 off vs my AK ( i was button - he was SB - blinds 50/100 - i had about 1800 - he had 1500) and then beats my AT two hands later when he calls another All in from me with 32 and proceeds to ruin my night!!

PC was off and i was tilting big style!

Oh well back to the game tonight!! ;D

they do!!

By letting them win hands like these they continue to play poorly and unprofitably

I haven"t played as much poker on my week off as i would have hoped but that is probably a good thing after - i busted too tourneys in a row on Sunday (including the League game) with AK against AA & KK - but what can you do - the KK hand that i lost against i should have got away from and one thing i have learned is that i wont be getting it all in pre (for the most Part) with AK and i certainly will be thinking about calling all in shoves with it!

But like i have said i have really played much poker - i have been mainly decorating - which is OK as it keeps the missus happy - and lets me get away with a bit more in the long run - but i have played a few MTTs, Cashed fairly deep in an Omaha tourney 23rd of c900 and i have also had two FTs and a 12th in the last 3 NLH MTTs - just looking for that top spot to get me going again!

Other than that - i plan to play the Bsq 6kgtd tonight and a few others that suit if get knocked out early doors! and i have a Home game tomorrow!

It kicks of at 5pm with a £10 Sng 3k chips and a medium 20 minute clock.. i plan to take a few photos to post on here - so people will be able to get an idea of the set up!

The SNG will be followed by a curry and a cash game with 10p/20p blinds. there normally ends up with excess of £300 on the table by the end of the night!!

I am looking forward to this as i need the practice for the WCOAP... and the assault on Vegas for mine and the missus 30ths!!

Make that 3 FT"s/4!!

Anyway - the Home Game in the end we only had 6 as someone (my sister) decided to have a BBQ and the Casual players went to that. but i think that a blast was had by all!

We started with a £10 sng - which saw me exit first - Blinds 100/200 - I have about 2.3k from a 3k start-stack and am in the Cutoff - Player to my right- UTG +1 raises to 525 - he has played virtually every pot and is intelligently aggressive - anyway - i look down and See the AK of Hearts (see the previous post) and i ship it over the Top - he calls suspecting i have a biggish pair/AQ+ (i am Quite tight you see) and shows a pair of Jacks! board no help and that is me gone!

Anyway the Missus went on to claim 2nd - and no word of a lie - we have probably played 25-30 home game Sngs and she has an In the cash percentage of about 95%, i cant honestly remember the last time she didn"t cash. all she needs to do is pluck up the courage to play a live event!!! maybe I"ll just buy her in to the next APAT event!!

After the Sng we played Cash NLH - but i find that this get a bit monotonous so i suggested that we play a bit of PLO as well - with the Dealer making the choice! and on the first Hand 3players got it all in on the Flop - there was some hefty pre flop betting - two players had Aces - one of them was double suited and the other had Q-10 with his -

Anyway after sorting out all of the Monies in the middle - The missus - playing her first hand of PLO wins a £60 pot with a straight and doesn"t even realise she has it!!! - but it certainly made for a more interesting night and i think that PLO will once again be added to the games in the future

I"m Staying Away from NLH for the next few days .....

Played a bit of PLO last night and ended up 2x Buyins - My first profit for some time (i have been playing NLH MTTs very unsuccessfully)!!! So will stay on this path for a while longer....
Title: Re: Toe'd in the Hole

Well the turning a profit at PLO didn"t last too long - after 3 days (only a few hrs really) of play and after at a point being 6x buy ins up i am now a break even player again - oh dear - my terrible run continues!!

But on a more positive note - i did have a fairly deep run in one of my regular MT Ts but just missed out on the final table when i busted in 13/367 when i open shoved with 10"s and was called by the big stack with AQ which obviously won as i couldn"t win a flip to save my life at the moment!

But Variance being what it is i am sure i can come out of the other side and start to get my game back!

I had my first tournament win in a while last night - nothing major but at the level i normally play at it was a pretty decent return.

$1 $500gtd freeze-out on pacific 344 horses so a bit of an overlay and $125 to me!!! Ship it! anyway - this comes of the back of a fair few cashes but nothing major, so onwards and upwards for the league game on Sunday!!

Well its been a while since i wrote anything so i thought i"d let people know whats been going on!

and the answer is..... I probably cant write what i really want as the mods will be removing my thread and taking it to their special hidey hole that only mods get to look in!!

But things have not been going very well for me at all really, Poker wise that is. Life outside of poker ticks along rather nicely for the most part - but poker is really starting to get to me at the moment!

It seems that variance has decided to grab me by the ******** and not let go (in fact i think that it is ever so slightly twisting them as well)!!

For the level that i play at - mainly <$5 MTTS i have not had a cash for about 3 weeks (see above post for last MTT win) - i"m getting out flopped left right and center - running sets into bigger sets - pairs into overpairs and i cant remember the last time that i had a draw get there!

the sum total of this is that it is affecting my game and my confidence and things aint looking good going into the worlds - if it wasnt for the fact that the hotel is booked i was seriously considering selling my seat and probably would have done by now!

The fact that i havent played any live poker for a while is also playing on my mind - so i am looking to get to the international to dust of the cobwebs in the next few weeks and hopefully get back a bit of form and some confidence... or just to donate like i have been doing!

Oh well a few more weeks to get things sorted or when the worlds come about ill be the depressed looking fella in the rubertoe T-shirt!!

Very Sad news to hear of the Passing of Sir Bobby Robson Today -

The football world has lost a true gentleman and a great manager and also the man that bought to the world the Attention of Ronaldo!

Anyway - I might atempt to give this poker thingy a go again tonight and see where that gets me!

i plan on playing the 25k on pacific and maybe a few other tourneys as well - This starts at 8:35 so expect a full tourny report some time around 8:45!!LOL

I am Donk - there i have admitted it (isnt admitting it supposed to be the hard part?) - now the hard part comes in trying to fight the donkness and cash in a tourney!

Wish me luck - I am gonna need it!

Well things worked out all right in the end....

Didnt play any poker as planned on friday due to getting drunk with the misus, which is a much better way of spending a friday night if you ask me!  ;D ;D

Anyway, saturday I went to watch the emerates cup game between Arsenal & At Madrid, the game was typical of a pre -season freindly with none of the cut and thrust of a league game on a cold saturday afternoon in january and all of damp and squibness of a dull weekend in Dorset.

I managed to get home early enough on saturday to play one of my usual tournements and with not much expectation other than to concentrate and do my best - 3 hours and 57 minutes and 344 players despatched by the wayside i was the last man standing!! it feels good to win again!!!!!

;)

Sunday i went to the game against rangers and this was marginally better all though the tempo was still pretty slow - looks like AW has got another gem - keep a look out for Jack Wilshire! rangers were pretty poor, but then i didnt expect too much from them - Great support though put us gooners to shame (highbury was the library).

I cashed in the Pokerstars freeroll for $8 - so i now have roll on there and will see if i can spin that up - 10c sng anyone??

I came, I saw, I left pretty Early!! That is my thoughts on the WCOAP weekend!

Although other than the Poker (which i am finally starting to learn that i suck at) i had a pretty good weekend!

I"m not sure what really happened at the ME - other than the fact that i might have invented a new style of poker - Loose p/f, Weak Flop! That is what it felt like to me anyway! I had planned on playing uber tight and then just completely deviated away from that strategy and was calling far too much (at least this is something i have realised) added to the fact that i couldn"t hit a flop either then i had no chance really!

i did manage to get my last 3k in on turn holding 8s 9s, and the board reading  7s 5s jh 9h - but a red king on the river sealed my fate - as i was called by AJ when the chips went in! so i quietly left the Club!!!

I am feeling a bit down hearted about it all really - as i know that i can play allot better than I did - i just seem to playing very ****e at the moment and cant get any momentum going and not really enjoying playing.

So me thinks i am going to leave Poker well alone for a while and see if i can get back the love that i had for the game when i first started to play - because after all, poker is a game and what is the point of playing if I am not enjoying it!

See you all soon again.

Maybe

Well its been a while - But i am back on the felt!

I didnt play any poker for the whole month of September after the WCOAP, and having withdrawn all online funds i thought i would try a new site, with Stars being the choice for the new home! Although having said that i have withdrawn all online funds i am still awaiting a Bankers Draft from 888, the little scamps.

I have a few issues with 888, one being that they were reluctant to relase me my funds as i have never made a deposit on their site, it was the first site i stumbled across when i started to play o line and my GF was reluctant to let me deposit, so i didnt and over the course of about 2 years i managed to win a bit in a few freerolls, and eventually parled that upto about $900 - now here comes my problem - the refused to relase the funds to me untill i gave them the details of the Credit Card that i deposited with. See my Problem, I never made a Deposit and for the matter i dont have a credit Card (i like to live within my means).

Anyhow after Irate e-mails and one very annoyed calls to their customer services - i proved who i was - i am me by the way! and i should receive my money in the next few days!

Anyway i am no on Stars and after an initial deposit i am breaking even and just trying to find my level - Probably looking to play low stakes MTT"s and a few satelites to the sunday biggies! But we shall see as there have been no significant wins as of yet although i did finish 55/20000+ runners in the EPT live freeroll - So you never know!

Back to the felt

WOW -its been along time since my last post and a lot has happened!

Well in fact that isn"t entirely correct - not allot has happened hence why i haven"t posted!

It all started back in November when the little light on the back of my PC started blinking and the bloody thing wouldn"t turn on! so after much deliberation i decided to invest in a new PC all well and good - but when i tried to reconnect my modem router to it i found it to be non compatible with windows 7 and a 64bit PC!

so a call was made to my ISP and a new router was ordered - i was told that it should be with me within 3-5 working days, this was on the 16 of November and it arrived on the 19th of January! oh my god - i even wrote a letter of complaint and made severally people cry over the phone - that is what happens when you have call centers in India and employ people who don"t know what there doing!

So without the Internet i have not been able to play any poker - but it has given me the opportunity to do the other thing that i love the most and that is to get out on my bike!

anyway - i am now back at the virtual felt and looking forward to season 4 and hoping to play a lot more live! Roll on the schedule (its probably already announced - i just haven"t looked yet)
