-
Give all Best to Rich Offless and tell him not to donk his chips like he did in Luton -- lol
-
Play is about to resume
Short-stack Kevin Mullinger drove home to Kent last night, got home at 5am, back up here today with his 4x bb stack!!
that"s dedication, and good luck to him
-
He should have said -- we had a spare bath !!
-
Mark Williams departs in 20th place, taking home £400.
Darren Shallis raised to 18,000 under the gun, only to see Mark push for 71,000. Darren called, and flipped over A-A to Mark"s K-K. The board was no help and Mark exited in 20th.
-
Kevin Mullinger exits in 19th. After Dan Bradbury raised from the cut off, and Darren Shallis called, short stacked Mullinger elected to call blind, putting himself all in.
The flop came 10-A-3, all clubs, and both players checked. The turn was the Qh, and both players checked again. The river was the 6s, and check-check. Dan flipped 4-4, whilst Darren had 10d-9d. Kevin flipped 7c-2d, and headed for the rail with a wry smile on his face.
Kevin takes home £400 for his efforts. That should just cover his petrol!
-
Craig Daye has been eliminated in 18th, taking home £400 and 1 ranking point. He pushed with 8-8, and found 1 caller in Andrew Tracey. Andrew flipped A-K, and cruelly, a K came on the river to send Craig to the rail.
There are 17 players left. Average chips is 118,000(ish) and the blinds are 3,000/6,000 for another 17 minutes. We restarted Level 14 at the start of play.
-
Martyn Sharp has been eliminated in 17th place, taking home £400 and 2 ranking points.
Martyn pushed all in after Mike Hopkinson had raised. Mike called and flipped 9-9, whilst Martyn held A-8. No help on the board and Martyn headed for the rail.
-
Good luck to Dan Bradbury!
-
C"mon Richeo -- get busy the rest are stealing the low stacks .......
-
Alan Lake has been eliminated in 16th place, taking home £400 and 3 ranking points.
In a multi all-in pot, Richard Sudworth raised. Alan pushed, and saw Paul Davis and Mike Young push all in after him! Richard passed, flipping A-K.
Paul: A-K
Mike: 6-2
Alan: 9-9
The flop was K-4-5, giving Paul the lead and Mike a gutshot. The turn was a J, and the river was a 3, giving Mike the straight, which meant he took the main pot, and Paul took the sidepot with his pair of Kings, eliminating Alan Lake from the competition.
-
Good luck to Steve Talbot and Jon Spinks from the Eat My Stack forum.
-
Kevin Fleming is out in 15th place, taking home £400 and 4 ranking points.
After Rich Offless limped in from middle position, Kevin pushed for a total of 31k. It was folded round to Rich, who called reluctantly to find himself in a race, with his A-J vs Kevin"s 4-4. The flop was 9-10-7, giving Rich a gutshot, and the turn was a J, with the K river confirming Kevin"s elimination.
-
Jon Spinks has crippled Steve Talbot and taken the chip lead after Jon"s AA mauled Steve"s AK, all the money was in preflop.
We"re about to start Level 15, blinds are now 4,000-8,000.
-
Steve Talbot has doubled through Jon Spinks, the A-J of Spinks not good enough against Talbot"s A-7, a 7 on the flop sending the pot Steve"s way.
Andrew Tracey has doubled through Rich Offless, leaving Rich with 80k. It was AA v JJ, and the A on the flop was enough to give Andrew the 200k+ pot.
-
Come on Rich!
-
Richard Sudworth is out in 14th place, taking home £400 and 5 ranking points.
In another 3 way all in, Richard pushed for 60k UTG. Short stack Tracey Brown called for 13k, and Alan Armitage called from the BB.
Richard: QJ
Alan: AK
Tracey: 66
The flop was K-7-6, giving Tracey a set and Alan top pair. The turn was a 5, and the river was an A, giving Alan 2 pair.
Tracey tripled up, taking the main pot with her set of 6"s, whilst Alan practically doubled up with his 2 pair, eliminating Richard from the competition.
There are 13 players left.
-
Good luck to the blondes! Andrew, Rich, Darren, Al (and apologies if I"ve missed anyone!).
Get it won.
-
good luck to the rich.. keep railing him duke..
jizz & loj..
-
Andrew Tracey has doubled through Rich Offless, leaving Rich with 80k. It was AA v JJ, and the A on the flop was enough to give Andrew the 200k+ pot.
oooops
-
whats the chip lead and the short stack?
-
Tracey Brown has been eliminated in 13th position, taking home £400 and 6 ranking points.
Tracey pushed all in from the cut off with A-Q, only to find Alan Armitage with 10-10 in the BB. The flop was Q-J-7, giving Tracey the lead, and the turn was a blank 4. The river was a cruel 10, giving Alan a set and eliminating Tracey.
-
Steve Talbot has been eliminated in 12th position, taking home £400 and 7 ranking points.
Steve pushed preflop with A-9, only to run into Neil Walsh"s 10-10 on his left. The board was all low cards, and Steve headed for the rail.
-
Andrew Tracey has doubled through Rich Offless, leaving Rich with 80k. It was AA v JJ, and the A on the flop was enough to give Andrew the 200k+ pot.
oooops
Rich Offless is back up to 200k (ish) after doubling through none other than Andrew Tracey!
In a blind vs blind situation, it all went in on a 7 high all heart flop, with Rich holding Qh-7c and Andrew holding Kh-5d. The hearts missed, and the 7"s held, giving Rich the pot.
Jay, we will be doing a chip count at the dinner break, which will be at 4.15pm we"re told.
11 players left, average chips is approx 185k.
-
Come on Rich back to back finals nearly there. best of luck.
-

-

With 11 left we are on a short break
chip leader is Jon Spinks with 400,000 or so
Short stack Brendan Duffy has 100,000 ish
blinds go 5,000-10,000 next
in a crucial pot last hand before the break Rich Offless limps in the sb and Andrew Tracey Checks
on the 7d 5c : :3h: flop Rich bets 15,000 and Andrew raises to 40,000. Rich calls
Both check the qh turn
the river is the :2c: and Rich bets 50,000. Andrew mega dwells with a pained expression reminiscent of Gabby Logan after a dancing exit and calls, mucking when Rich shows ac 4d for a rivered double belly buster
Andrew had a seven
Andrew now is the short stack of the final 11
Tighty xx

Jon Spinks is out in 11th place, taking home £400 and 8 ranking points.
Jon called a raise preflop from Darren Shallis, and they saw a 9-4-5 flop. Darren bet out 50k, and Jon pushed all in for another 116.5k on top. Darren went into the tank before making an amazing call, flipping 6-6 to Jon"s 7-6 up and down draw. The turn brought another 9, and the river was a 2, giving Darren the chip lead and sending Jon to the rail.
Dinner will be in 20 minutes or the next elimination.

;D That was excellent. Kept us amused for quite a while.
He might as well have been serving drinks, he wasn"t do much else at the time...
-
We are hand-for-hand.
Andrew Tracey has just crippled Alan Armitage. Andrew raised preflop to 30k, and Alan pushed all in. Andrew called and flipped Q-Q to Alan"s A-A. The Aces were ahead until the river, when the dealer put out a queen, giving Andrew a 250k pot and leaving Alan with less than 35k.
-
Alan Armitage doubled up his micro-stack then pushed UTG...no callers and he resignedly threw his two red Aces onto the table from a great height
-
p.s Tighty here...just asked Sharplea for a coke and some toast from the bar...
if looks could kill......

Just back from Walsall after the scary drive from hell, M6 & fog don"t mix. Well played Rich, top result and a very deserved victory.
Also big up to Neil who took silver, well done mate. Honourable mentions to Martyn Sharp (who managed to be short stacked for about 5 hours and made the money) & Mike Hopkinson (the overnight leader who was prepared to aim for the win but went out on the final table bubble).
Bring on the regionals next week & Manchester next month.
Big thanks to Des, Richard & crew for another excellent weekend and all the staff at Walsall for looking after us so well.
-
Well done Rich...... fantastic result mate. :D
-
Congrats Rich and to All who made the money, the points and the medals.
GREAT forum updates by APAT team.
-
Congratulations to Rich...a truly well deserved win.
And to Neil, who ground it out with me to the bitter end and just would NOT call when I put him in and when he finally did, he drew out to double up and stay in it ;D
A great deal of fun, top marks to Richard, Des, the APAT reporting team and all the Grosvenor staff, particulalry Danny the TD.
Good to meet a lot of people from the forum and put faces to avatars. Manchester next!
-
Gongratulations to the winner and all the finalists. It was my first apat event and allthough i lasted just something like 5 hours i can say it was an excellent experience...
Well organised , great structure , good value for money , a real poker experience
Thanx APAT
-
Just got home through the fog on the M5. Yuk.
Many congratulations to Rich, who is a worthy champion.
It feels a bit bittersweet at the moment. I had nearly 1/2 the chips in play at the start of the final table, but could not get it done.
Still, i"ll gladly take 4th place considering i should not have made Day 2. All in near the end of day 1 with js jh vs kd kc, only to spike the jc on the river.
Many thanks to Richard, Des, Danny and all at APAT and the Grosvenor Walsall for running the event so smoothly.
Thanks also for the support. It really does help.
-

Thanks Rich...your call on the flop and bet on the river had me worried...after you had mentioned before how you were going to (and eventually did) play AA, I thought you might have been trapping.
For me, the call was a semi-inspired "feck it, I might be winning...I just gotta know!" call.
Paulie = Luckbox ;D
-
Excellent stuff Rich - well deserved as well. The only champ so far to have made two final tables in the Nationals (I think).
Ger and the others said they"d hope you"d win so you could tell them all about it during the home games. They said they were really looking forward to you giving them an in-depth account of the two days.
The king is dead - long live the king (remember the title"s only on loan though....I want it back next year ;D).
-
Congrats Rich and to everyone else who made the points. :)
-
Congrats to you Rich...well played! Well done everyone else that cashed.
Top reporting as always....just wish I could have been there.
Off to try my luck at Manchester on Saturday.
-
Just wanted to offer my congratulations to the champ and say thanks to the APAT team for a cracking weekend. Got knocked out after dinner on the Saturday but after it took me over 7 hours to travel down from Scotland (damn overturned lorry) I was definitely making the weekend of it. Played the casino"s own tournaments on sat evening/sun afternoon and watched bit of APAT final table, could get use to spending full weekends in a casino!! Great to meet number of people from the forum, especially Jennifer Harman and Marco Traniello (sorry I mean Ian and Caz :)and get a chance to thank Des in person for everything he and the team do. Thanks very much for the drink as well Des....... though are you sure the Grosvenor charge for a glass of water ;) Cheers again to all and congratulations Richard, that trophy will look mighty good on any mantelpiece!
