Satellites are now in the lobby.

Password is apatmember.

Anyone who wins a satellite will receive a "ticket"

There will be a separate holding tank for satellite winners to use their "ticket" to register for their seat.

Good luck.

Can were ensure that the main tank will not prevent players from the same household from registering? Tell betfair to set it up the same way they did for Dublin, or the same as the sunday league games. Both of these use(d) a password, which might be the key because Luton did not have a password and it didn"t work for same household people (well same network people to be precise).

Paulie - you need not reply ;)

The reason they were late showing in the lobby today is because Betfair were waiting on confirmation from Ongame regarding the IP Address issues.

I"ve got my fingers crossed, but will make the same assurances that I have previously.  If you are unable to register due to these problems and there was availablity in the holding tank when you tried to register, please drop me a pm and I will ensure that you get a seat.

I"ve not let anyone down so far with this, and have no intention of starting now.

Having won a ticket tonight I presume I just wait until the "Holding tank" for the actual event appears?  Cos I couldn"t spot the tourney but then it is 7 weeks away.  Just so I know that someone else doesn"t buy-in direct and all the seats are lost.  Or is it auto-entry for those qualifying in the sats?

At least you try to play Steve. Nothing I hate more than people sitting around waiting for soemone else to donk so they can ladder. I know it"s part of the game but leaves me either 1/stealing & running into big hands or 2/passing hands I probably shouldn"t when raised before me. It"s harsh when it happens and think you became victim of your own stack tonight.

I noticed that the holding tank for the live buy-in tonight is set at 30 max players, should be competitive is it a small venue ;) or can somebody change it to avoid multiple disappointment/confusion. Thanks.

P.S. I notice the time has changed to 8pm but the the countdown is for 9pm so I guess I have started to feel the confusion already.

I do have to admit, i cannot take the guilt feelings. All five of us were guilty of collusion, J.P. being the ring leader.

He has decided to now target other games, he suggested all five of us play in 10c double up ring games. after  200 games we should show a good profit. say 75% roi would make us approx 15 dollars each. Not bad for around 300 hours play, it may even cover the cost of the electric bill for said use.

Just kidding for anybody that doesn"t know us ;D ;D

J.P. I"m confused, who am i batting for? :o

Glad to have bought in,  the mad rush to buy in within seconds of the buy in opening is no longer a matter of life or death with the state of the economy.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in coventry.

Hopefully the TD and staff at the Ricoh will support the event fully and not view the event with apathy which has been my own personal expeirences with them (the self deal ukipt eve of tourney sat for one!!) although the venue itself is superb.

I am in their catchment area but virtually drive past their entrance on my way to DTD!!!

This is your chance Coventry!!

Only been to Cov G once - played a £50 tourney with an £8 reg fee, and it was self dealt, although there were two tables used for dealer training. I dealt my first table for three hours, and didn"t even get my glass of coke for free! Then when moved to a dealer table, ended up having to sort the all in side pots for the dealer as she didn"t have a clue.  £8 reg fee well spent.

It"s come on a bit since then. If they treat it like the UKIPT and GUKPT events they"ve held there recently, you"ll be fine. They also get 100+ every Tuesday night for their £50fo £4k gtd so they"re a bit more used to big fields.

Since the credit crunch I have had to work hard for a living!
I have still been around, but mainly modding on THM. Must admit not playing much online of late and only a few live games. Tried the Fox Club in London on Friday night and enjoyed it.

Have found the European buy in now. Couldnt see it in the special tournies but went for all and found it at the bottom. Just going to check with the Mrs, so hope to be there.
Thanks.

Fri is a £20 +£5 DCFO 2 x 3000 chips. 20 min blind levels. Normally this has approx 50 runners, though it will almost certainly more than double that due to people like yourself!

I will mention to the card-room managers that loads of extra players are likely to turn up on the Fri and see if they can get extra dealers in as they usually have only 3 or 4 cash games on and they will almost certainly need more cash games open.

I"m guessing your visit was a while ago. Things have improved since the G group took over the casino. They still don"t have ALL tourneys dealer dealt but they have taken on a lot of part time dealers and run some very good comps now.

Pick of them is Tuesdays £50 + £6 which has a £5,000 Guarantee and Sundays £25 (+£5 i think) £2,500 Guarantee both are fully dealer dealt.

The card-room managers Carl and Ruben are both very keen and are constantly looking for ways to improve.

Before anyone asks, no I don"t work there but do play there once a week on average.

I"m sure any first time visitors for this APAT event will be impressed with the club, though beware if planning on arriving Friday as the Fri night comp is NOT dealer dealt. Though on the positive side all soft drinks are free!

Being dragged up there tonite for the Sunday supposedly dealer dealt comp

Will be interesting to see if things have improved since my last visit in July

As I mentioned in my earlier post G Cov are always looking for ways to improve. They have just introduced a really clever idea for it"s cash games.

The first 4 players to sit at a table DO NOT pay rake from any pot they win all night.

This means games get started much earlier as this is a real bonus. Good for the casino, great if you"re one of the four!

What is the Friday game please ? Due to travel requirements i will be coming down Friday rather than Saturday morning.

Mini Brag: I won it on Friday (22nd) for £385 there were 58 runners.

Hi Everybody!

I was wondering if still running any satellite for Coventry...
I already checked the Calendar, but...
Sorry, I don"t fully understand the following events:
Mon 8th   20:00 Satellite to S. European Amateur Championship   $20   Betfair Poker
Mon 8th   20:00    Satellite to S. European Super Satellite   $5   Betfair Poker
Tue 9th   20:00    Rebuy satellite to S. European Amateur Championship   $10   Betfair Poker
Tue 9th   20:00    Satellite to S. European Super Satellite   $5   Betfair Poker

What does the "S." means?
And what"s the difference between both satellites that run at the same time?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Welcome to APAT.

The satellites for the Coventry event are now finished, but you are able to buyin direct through the Betfair Poker Lobby.

The satellites that you copied above are for the event to be held in Spain in January.

S. stands for Southern, i.e. Southern European = Spain.

The $5 sats appear to be satellites to satellites, a (possibly) cheaper way to get your seat.

I"m not aware of the final capacity for Coventry but 100 seems quite low, so I would expect some seats to free up shortly if they are going to. Leigh will be able to confirm.

In addition, alternates will be allowed for the first couple of levels as per normal on the day.

Finally, you always have the option of posting a request on the Seat Exchange.

A little bird tells me that another 25 should be going on sale in another holding tank next week.

That should put us very near the 150 cap for the venue with the possibility that we"ll probably do a similar balancing act on seats on the day between Amateur and Pro events, as we did in Luton.  So the final number may end up nearer 170.

Is there going to be a holding tank on Betfair for the Specialist event on the 28th?  I can see the amateur and pro APAT holding tanks, but nothing for the 28th.  Have made sure I am not filtering it out by selecting all games, buy-ins and tournament types.  Want to know what interest is like before begging for a pink slip to attend...

Hopefully an APAT expert will be along to answer your q soon.

My GUESS is that you will not need evidence of your betfair name. Though the usual photo ID will be required to join the G Cov on your way in.

You just need to bring id to join up with the casino, if you are not already a member.

We get your name from Betfair and you will already be entered into the event at the casino.

Stacks 5,000 and 25 min clock which is good.

It"s a £30 total entry £15 to prize-pool £10 to bounties £5 reg fee.

For every player there is a £5 bounty on their head and for every 10 players in the comp there will be one random "super" bounty worth £55.

Could be fun. I have enough trouble with fish calling me down with garbage without a £55 bounty on me "ed. LOL

Whats the difference between Tank 1 and Tank 2 when registering on Betfair?

Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig

Tank 1 was when the first lot of registrations were available, and then Tank 2 is opened up once the sats are finished when APAT knows how many seats it has left to sell..

Tank 1 I think is full (unless someone has unregistered), so use Tank 2

Unfortunately the holding tanks for this event are now full.  They are in Betfair lobby, scheduled tournaments, APAT European Holding Tank and APAT European Holding Tank 2. Worth keeping an eye on them as someone may unregister and u can grab a seat.

Failing that you can post on the seat exchange board that you are looking for a seat, and also watch for someone selling one.

Just spoke with G-Coventry and their Friday game, for those going up early is now a £25 + £5 "mystery bounty hunter" starting @ 8.30pm. £15 into the prize poll, £5 bounty on each player and also, for every 10 players, a "Mystery Bounty" of £50 is available but you don"t know whether you have won this until you bust out and go to the desk and ask!!!!

You can also re-enter the tourney during the first 2 levels if you bust out early. Registration for alternates is up to 9.30pm.

What"s the word on dress code at Coventry?
Are hoodies/hooded jackets allowed?
Website just says "smart casual" no ripped jeans, sports clothes, footbal shirts or soiled clothes (this last may be a problem for the future ex-champion)

I play there once a week and trainers are fine.

Sadly they do allow hoodies, caps, shades etc as well. Though this is usually restricted to the cardroom not in reception or the the main gaming areas. (in case you are an armed robber)

As it goes, the last time I played at this venue there were a couple of whipper-snapper type internet players there sporting shorts!  Shorts I tells ya...in a casino.  Shorts!

One of them was the absolute spitting image of Nelson from the Simpsons.  Good player as it happened, quite the table bully as you might expect.

Bad News Regarding the Dealers for this event.

I"ve spoken to the cardroom supervisor this evening and they have some issues for next weekend.

A) Walsall has a big comp on and cannot release any dealers to help.

B) The Vic has the GUKPT championship event on also, so all G Casinos have to send 2 dealers there to help out.

This means they will not even have all their own dealers never mind extra ones.

They were training academy dealers this evening and they were very slow. I think that we will have to be patient with some of them next week.

As tables break they will ensure the better dealers are left on where possible but it"s not going to be the best situation for us all.

thanks for letting me know, though I knew they were under the cosh with the GUKPT Grand Final on

I am sure the players will work with the new dealers.

Leigh, Maylis and I dealt three levels at Luton, so we"ll muck in if need be.

Rather than ignoring the situation and ending up with people feeling let down, I think it would be best to be up front about it and announce/request before the start of play for patience with the dealers many of whom are new due to the need for dealers at events elsewhere.

It would be easy to gloss over and pretend it"s OK but when it isn"t people complain. If they know in advance that some guys are really new then it will help I think.

Great point, and very helpful to everyone involved.   If your not aware it is a new dealer, then you just assume they should know what they are doing, so no doubt some people very quickly will get annoyed at them either being slow, or silly mistakes etc.

But if you know they are new, then everyone tends to have more patience and help etc.

I would love to play in one of these big live tournaments.. would be so great.. and when you have a little bit of luck at the right moments you can really make a big big score..

I can"t afford to buyin / or play qualifiers due to my small bankroll which I basically use for cashgame ( I"m a breakeven player at the moment) .. so i can"t afford to loose that money..

but now I"m looking for sites where I can play for free ... (mod removed link) ... any suggestions?

thx

My first APAT event and all I can say is "why haven"t I done that before?"

Great venue and a great crowd.

Congratulations to Brian Martin - it was a privilege, pleasure, humbling experience effing annoying to be on the same table as you. Having to flold top pair to your crai on a QJ10 flop meant that I was really pleased to be moved. Imagine my delight when you got moved to the same table later.

Highlight of the tournament was reraising pre with 88, flopping quads and having the original raiser bet out on the turn.

Lowlight - raising A6 and getting a 1066 flop which I played too passively - 10 on the river  >:(

Loved the cash game on Saturday (if I"d run that good in the tournament life could have been so much better) and the bonus bets on the Blackjack on Sunday

Thanks to all and a special congratulations to Gary Motson cashing in his first event and scooping the £617.76 (includes 8 * £2.22 last longer from the Stockton Massive.

oh and sigh.......... well done StuBear luckboxing your way to the PLO8

Mainly had the trainee dealers at these on Sunday for the £15 and £25 games and they were (in general) far better than any self dealt game I"ve been to. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the G casino and would happily go back for the weekend again next season, even with a 5 hour drive in the cold and snow. Hope to see you all again in 2011  8)
