This weekend sees the culmination of the APAT Season 4. Before the frantic fun of the APAT UK Team Championship on Saturday and Sunday, we have the small matter of crowning the APAT Champion of Champions for the season.
You will be able to follow all of the action from 8pm, live from the G Casino, Bolton.
One of the 15 players will walk away with a £20,000 sponsorship package with Betfair Poker for 2011.
Here"s a rundown of who is chasing the title and the prize.

John Murray - UK Amateur Poker Champion
The nearly man of APAT finally got his hands on a trophy at The Vic, London in April 2010. John was crowned UK Amateur Champion after beating Don Roberts heads up. Back in John"s local poker club, they had the live streaming up on the big screen whilst playing their usual sunday night game.

Christoph Kreindl - Central European Amateur Poker Champion
APAT made the trip to Vienna in May 2010, but the travelling contingent were no match for the local players, and it was Christoph Kreindl who went on to take the title. Christoph flies into London before driving up to Bolton for the weekend. He said he is looking forward to driving on the other side of the road, I hope he makes it in one piece.

Scott Wilson - Scottish Amateur Poker Champion
In June 2010, the Scottish Amateur Poker Championship was held at The International Casino in Aberdeen. The title went the way of Scott Wilson, who beat Kevin Wallace heads up, making Scott the youngest ever APAT Champion, and therefore the youngest player at this Champion of Champions.

Ian Thompson - World Amateur Stud Champion
Day Two of the WCOAP at DTD and Ian Thompson collected the title of World Amateur Stud Champion, seeing off David Llewellyn heads up. I really hope Ian has another shirt to wear for Friday.

Max Kruis - World Amateur Omaha Champion
Day Three at the WCOAP, and another champion crowned. This time Max Kruis from The Netherlands takes down the World Amateur Pot Limit Omaha Championship. He learnt the game that morning from his fellow Dutch team mates beating Craig Johnson heads up.

Colin Young - World Amateur Six Max Champion
The Fourth Day at the WCOAP saw local DTD player, Colin Young, win the World Amateur Sis Max Championship, beating APAT regular, Andy Overton, in the heads up. Colin has numerous DTD cashes to his name and will start this as one of the favourites.
-
(http://lh3.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/THxcVYzdbwI/AAAAAAAAmAs/x74K5D3p_cI/IMG_3651.JPG)
Stephen Wintersgill - World Amateur HORSE Champion
Very late on the final day of the WCOAP and Stephen Wintersgill took down the World Amateur HORSE Championship to secure his place in the Champion of Champions event.
-
(http://lh6.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/THxJWB2Z1gI/AAAAAAAAl_w/MrVy6qltUgQ/IMG_5813.JPG)
Ben Young - World Amateur Poker Champion
The main event at the WCOAP was won by Ben Young, making him the World Amateur Poker Champion. Ben beat Steve Roderick (more about him in a bit) in the heads up to take down the title in front of a very lively Welsh suporting rail.
-
(http://lh6.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/TJ-WGM9ey1I/AAAAAAAAmXw/uknWUKVJfUU/s800/IMG_3954.JPG)
Simon O"Hare - Irish Amateur Poker Champion
In September 2010, APAT made its annual trip over to Dublin, where the gathered crowd saw Simon O"Hare win the Irish Amateur Poker Championship at The Fitzwilliam Card Club. Simon beat Steve Roderick (As I said, more about him in a bit) in the heads up.
-
(http://lh6.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/TMSjPsULDtI/AAAAAAAAnNk/iYGgztXX-y4/IMG_6905.JPG)
Tod Wood - English Amateur Poker Champion
Next stop was Luton, where Tod Wood was crowned English Amateur Poker Champion beating Ian Burnett heads up. Tod had gone very close to a title in season 2, and you could see how much it meant to him. For the runner up, it was bronze in season 3, silver in season 4.
-
(http://lh4.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/TPLELZNciLI/AAAAAAAAnyo/wZPc8j8VjZk/IMG_4688.JPG)
Brian Martin - European Amateur Poker Champion
On a very very cold weekend in November 2010, Brian Martin took down the European Amateur Poker Championship, beating Darren Shallis heads up on probably the most competitive final table of the season. Brian also topped the overall combined rankings (Live and Online) meaning he will be a favourite amongst a lot of people to take this down.
-
(http://lh6.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/THfRrBS2PdI/AAAAAAAAjlM/tpWgEKcR5us/DSC00159.JPG)
Warren Jones - National Online Rankings Winner
Warren had an impressive online season which saw him top the rankings. Don"t be fooled into thinking he can"t play live though. He final tabled in Swansea and finished 4th in the WCOAP Heads Up event. And he"s Welsh, and they win everything.
-
(http://lh3.ggpht.com/_KJLieIUxMJY/THwUCv9o0vI/AAAAAAAAl-Q/XO8wFFhpbO8/DSC00243.JPG)
Steve Roderick - National Live Rankings Winner
I said we would get to him eventually. Steve Roderick topped the seasons live rankings in a battle that went right down to the last event in Spain. He was top when the players left for Spain, and that"s where he ended up. A great season for Steve saw him finish second in the WCOAP, second again in Dublin, along with a final table appearance in Swansea. Will Mr Consistent take this down ?
-
One of these players will walk away with a £20,000 sponsorship package, the other 14 will walk away with nothing but shattered dreams.
Join us from 8pm on Friday, but in the meantime.
Pick your top 3 in any order.
APAT merchandise up for grabs.
Competition closes 6pm on Friday 28th January 2011.

So we still have all 15. Main loser so far is Steve Roderick, down to 7,000 with the chips going to dual APAT Champion Dave Howard
I reckon we"ll see the action hot up at about 10pm onwards when blinds get 400-800/75
Winner takes all of course, which makes strategy interesting
-
Hi guys could you please anti rail brian martin for me tx
LOL this please
Thanks
ECK
-
We have our first all in on table Streaker
Colin Young shoving the turn against Brian Martin, and getting an agonised fold
-
And we lose our first player.
On a flop of J 9 9, Scott raise to 600, Ben reraise to 1600 and Scott goes allin for 3.4k, which Ben snap calls.
Scott has J8
Ben has 99 for quads.
-
Spot prize for galo.
Message me colour and size choice for a tshirt.
Well done.
-
Unlucky Captain!
-
Next out Steve Roderick
Roderick raises to 300 from 6,775
Warren Jones calls in the big blind
flop 5h 6d kh
Warren leads, Steve shoves, Warren calls
Steve kd th
Warren ac kc
Big slick holds and we are down to 13
-
Interview question for Steve.
Was the lure of a night out with the APAT team the reason he donked off his chips?
and
is it OK for me to remind him off this hand when I donk off mine tomorrow?
-

Apart from Ben Young and Warren Jones with 17,000 we have Steven Wintersgill and Dave Howard making progess.
Below starting stacks are Brian Martin, Christoph Kreindl and John Murray
Big confrontations of monsters aside, we"re really looking at coolers for exits at his stage. Give it a couple of levels though, and play will have to speed up,the blinds will force it
150,000 chips in play and 12 midnight there will only be 100x bb in play
-
This gag is killing me...
...in the meantime, does anyone recognise this hand ?

Everyone looks so happy to be there.
It is a Friday night in Bolton.
Ha well yes quite, but you chose to go there. Bolton has never denied it"s grimness.
-
Colin Young"s stack is decimated.
On a flop of 7 T T
He is in a pot with Gareth Johns
Betting continues on the 6 turn and the A river.
Colin eventually calls after a long think
Colin has T9
Gareth 77
What was that Tighty mentioned about coolers ?
-
Colin Young allin from the button, finds a caller in Gareth Johns in the small blind.
"My Nemisiss chouts Colin"
Gareth shows pocket eights.
Which pleases Colin, as he shows pocket nines.
Board comes K T J Q 4
So Colin doubles up to 4k.
-
Warren Jones raises to 550 on the button
Christoph Kreindl 2300 in the bb
Called
4h qd 6s
check check
:2s:
Kreindl 3200
Jones passes
Kreindl shows the :as:
-
Brian Martin is OUT
I join the action with the board reading 9d 8c 5s js
Max Kruis is all in holds 9s 6s
Brian all in jc tc
River 9h
Max outdraws Brian and becomes one of the chip leaders
-
Ben Young raises from the button, and Colin Young is allin from the big blind.
Ben calls.

He"s not replying to my texts.

KJruis shows 5-6 off for a draw, and a ballsy play
-

Has anyone dared to ask Rod how/why he managed to donk off 6K with K 10?
He"s not replying to my texts.
that"s because he is drinking Bolton dry
His parting words were, with a rueful smile "well that was a disaster, I am off for a pint"
-
While we"re waiting for the action to heat up can Mayliss explain the off-side rule and how she wrote her car off.

Not bothered too much who wins this, but warren has been unlucky HU winning a load of small pots but seemingly unable to win a showdown. Think he has just edged it IMO

Magical stuff Warren. Very very well played...and a great name too! ;)
-
Interview question for Steve.
Was the lure of a night out with the APAT team the reason he donked off his chips?
and
is it OK for me to remind him off this hand when I donk off mine tomorrow?
No it wasn"t the reason. Everybody plays badly from time to time, I just picked a terrible time to do it.
As for reminding me of thr hand, no really a valid question as you are not going to donk off your Chtps
PS - Very well played Warren - congrats
-
Congratulation Warren, well played ! All the best for all the live events this year !
-
Very well done Warren, watching you agonize over decisions was entertaining :)

I spoke with Warren on the weekend, whilst in Coventry. He"s just finalising his schedule for the sponsorship package, and I"m trying to talk him into blogging on the forum about how his season of sponsorship goes.
-
would be nice if he could blog it.
