- we will run One hour blinds
- The Final Event will start at the beginning of the current blind level
- There will be a re-draw for seat order
-
Brief live updates will follow from the Victoria Casino on this thread from 2.30pm. Pictures will be added after the event. Good luck to all competitors.
At stake to the winner is the title of APAT OnLive Champion, Cup, Gold Medal, $3,500 and an expenses paid entry to the main event of the World Series of Poker.
There is also the little matter of the Season One Rankings to be decided. Should Kevin Shutt finish fifth or better today, he will win that title and an expenses paid entry to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event in the Bahamas.
-
Good luck to all the players but especially to Jack, take it down techno!!!
-
Good luck Martin make that chip lead count!!!!
-
Play has started and the players have agreed to roll back the blinds to 3000 - 6000,
Giving the short stack 20 big blinds and the chip leader 70 big blinds. With 60 minute levels, we are looking forward to a great final.

The money eventually went in on a 5 5 9 flop. Jack doubles up when his queens hold against Martin"s tens. 350k pot.
-
Jack will need to look after his blinds
-
Craig takes a 130k pot with trip 5s on a very scary board, calling Kevin"s 40k bluff at the pot. Kevin now down to 120k.
-
Charles raises to 18k in early position, called by Micky. Flop Ace Queen King rainbow. Micky raises 40k but drops to Charlie"s all in check raise.

Well done to the players ,especially the leaders, for agreeing to a roll-back of the blinds. Very magnanimous, and in keeping with the APAT spirit.
Can you pass on good luck to Technolog please from EMSers (although he"s on that many forums I"m not sure which one he swears allegiance to! :))
-
No major hands to report. Kevin Shutt has been all in a couple of times but as yet is uncalled.
-
Kevin pushes again from mid position but gets no callers, before showing Queens.
-
Kevin goes over the top of Charlies raise on a flop of Ace 6 4, two clubs. Charlie drops and Kevin scoops an 80k pot.
-
Micky takes a 100 plus k pot from Kevin with a better two pair. Kevin, who seems to be in every other pot, is now short with 90k.
Kev is all in again and called....
-
Jack shows pocket 7"s but Kevin has a pair of 10"s.....which hold up and Kevin Shutt has doubled up to around 190k.
-
Martin raises 80k into a 130k pot on a raggy board. Jack dwells and folds. Chip counts to follow as players start second break.
-
Start of level 3 with blinds at 10000 - 20000.
Martin - 386k
Micky - 347k
Charlie - 284k
Kevin - 180k
Jack - 207k
Craig - 129k
This final is being played in great spirits and the quality of play so far has been excellent.
-
Shortstack Craig Stokes doubles up through Charlie, when his Aces hold up versus 9"s.
-
Charlie Sanderson has stepped up a gear and has pushed in both of the last two hands, taking useful pots. He"s not had to show a hand...yet.
-
Kevin Shutt has just exited in sixth place following a loss with Sevens to Jack Prime"s Kings. Kevin had 8k left but went out shortly afterwards following two rollercoaster all in pots. In finishing sixth, Kevin ties Mark Donnelly for the Rankings title. Shootout details to follow in the next couple of days.

Drama drama, unlucky Kevin but you still get a second chance on the shootout
-
why was he playing so agressively when he only needed to come 5th?
-
Chip counts at the break:
Martin - 246k
Micky - 383k
Charlie - 347k
Jack - 369k
Craig - 218k
All very much still to play for. Blinds going up to 15000 - 30000 after this short break.

-
Charlie Sanderson continues to use his stack to pick up blinds. Other than that, the chips are being shared around the table. 47 mins left in this level.
-
JACK or MICKY for the win
-
Charlie, who has been super aggressive this level, raises to 60k, called by Micky, but both fold to Jack"s all in re-raise.
-
Start of day chipleader Martin McBeath goes all in over the top of Micky Paterson. After an age, Micky calls.... The players show:
Martin: Ace Queen suited.
Micky: Ace Queen offsuit.
Split pot...as you were.
-
Charlie, who has been super aggressive this level, raises to 60k, called by Micky, but both fold to Jack"s all in re-raise.
RESPECT!!!!
good luck Micky and Jack!!!
-
Craig pushes all in for 95k and is called by Charlie Sanderson with King 9. Craig shows Queen 8 but doubles up with a Queen on the flop.
-
JACK or MICKY for the win
;D
-
Martin has gotten quite low now, with just under 150k, we may see him lower his pushing range shortly.
Elsewhere, it"s game on.
-
Jack has changed gears and taken 180k from Charlie with raises and re-raises in the last two hands.
-
GO TEAM BLUFFER!!!
ONE TIME!!!
Good Luck Jack!!!
-
Jack has changed gears and taken 180k from Charlie with raises and re-raises in the last two hands.
Is that 4 hands in a row then?
-
Martin pushes in for 80k with K 3 which remarkably dominates chip daddy Jack Prime"s 8 3. Martin doubles through.
-
JACK or MICKY for the win
;D
What they said!!! COME ON LADS!!!
-
Craig loses a key hand to Charlie and is left with 8k, losing all in to Micky in his next hand. So Craig Stokes finishes Fifth.

WP Craig. Great tourney.
-
Chip counts with the players about to come back from their break:
Martin - 405k
Micky - 480k
Charlie - 235k
Jack - 415k
It has been a great final but with blinds increasing to 20000 - 40000, this level will be pivotal. Anyone for a trip to Vegas?
-
Charlie Sanderson has just doubled through Jack Prime, hitting one of his three outs.
Jack has just doubled through Charlie though, hitting a King on the flop. There are lots of oohs and ahhs here at the moment!
-
With the blinds restricting overly creative play, there are sure to be casualties shortly. The challenge is to either get your chips in first or avoid committing them altogether.
-
take it down martin go for it mate
-
Big hand..Jack pushes all in and Charlie goes over the top. Micky dwelled for ages before dropping. On their backs...Charlie has a pair of Nines. Jack? A pair of Nines also!! Split pot and the rollercoaster continues..
-
unreal how many chips for martin?
-
Jack takes 100k from Micky with a turn bet on a dangerous looking board.
Martin has around 300k left...it is moving around quickly though. Amazingly we are still seeing flops.
-
C"Mon Jack from all at EMS ;D
-
thanks for keeping us well informed
-
Martin has just gone out in Fourth. All in with Jacks, Martin could not overcome Charlie"s Queens.
-
Des, tell Jack and Micky the drinks are on them in Cardiff ;D.
-
unlucky martin rough finding qq
-
Charlie Sanderson is now raising at every opportunity and Jack and Micky are now looking short.
-
Drama as Micky doubles up to 560k hitting an unlikely straight on the river against Charlie.
Jack has just gone out third losing to an 8 on the turn from Charlie - who has the lead heads up.

Mr Sanderson should be known as push push Charlie frome here on, because that is exactly how he intends to win this.

Well done mate!
Sober or Drunk?
At the time, I have no idea. Now..... ;D
-
I"d just like to say how much I enjoyed playing in the final.
I think in the end the poker gods were reasonably even in the dealing out of the suck outs - but I was certainly saved by a 3 outer when running low on chips.
All the finalists were very friendly and congratulations to the organisers for making everything run smoothly - in particular offering the blind change - I have played in many tournaments where they have not been so considerate of the players.
I did try to steal Micky"s blinds all day so he certainly had his revenge - he outplayed me heads up.
Hope to see you in Vegas - if not in another APAT event before then.
cheers
Charlie S
-
I would agree with Charles, it was a great final, played in the best APAT spirit with the best player on the day winning-well done Mickey! My thanks also to Des, Tikay & the team from the Vic who ran everything impeccably. I believe this OnLive concept got off to a great start and i wonder where it will lead-ask Des!?
Had a wonderful night out with Mickey, Jack & Geoff even managing a nice win on the cash tables too!
So the drama continues, when will it end, for the next installment..........over to you Des-again!?
Kevin
-
Thanks for all your support and good wishes fellas both on here and the text & voice messages. My phone kept saying "connection error" when I tried to reply otherwise I would have thanked you all sooner.
An absolutely fantastic day, any slight big-match nerves melted away with the excellent table company. Very happy with my play generally and the mask only slipped a couple of times to reveal the inner fish!
Commiserations to Kevin on not securing the PCA seat - yet, good luck to him and Mark in the heads-up.
But most of all good luck to Michael Patterson in the WSOP 2008 main event!
Oh Mickey you play so fine, you play so fine you blow my mind - HEY MICKEY! HEY MICKEY!
-
Well miracle"s do happen.Thank"s to every one for all the good wishes and support. The atmosphere at the final table was superb and played in a great spirit.Charlie had been stealing my big blind all day,so when we were heads up i thought it was pay back time.I cant really remember much of the heads up ,it all happened so quickly but i think it involved me pushing in almost every hand.
Thanks to Des and Tikay for doing all the hard work, and to all the other finalist"s for making it a tremendous day.
-
Mickey"s heads-up play was awesome - pure ultra-aggression - a joy to behold!
-
Well played my friend.
I"m over the moon that you won. If you win millions in Vegas you need to spread the word about the Duck lol ;D ;D ;D
Congratulations again, it couldn"t have happened to a nicer fella
-

Cheers Martin, you were very unlucky to run into a couple of big hands, but you played a great game. The 7-4 move is a bit of a inside joke with some of the apaters, when i saw it it was insta all in :D.Lucky no one called.
-
Just got back in from Race of Champions in London -- sorry couldn"t make it across to the Vic -- But what a performance by Jack & Mickey -- well done. Mickey, best of luck in Vegas, run deep and bring home the bacon !!!
-
Would just like to say thanks to the organisers, i had a great afternoon and met some very good people. I will be making the effort to compete more next year in these events, and hopefully make serious challenge on the season results.
Well played Micky you played a good game.

-
Hi Craig,
Good to meet you. You seemed to be the pick of the players, and can I apologise for my appalling play when I doubled up the short stack with my 8 3. You looked devastated. I can only put it down to a rush of blood.
Well played.
Jack
