Welcome to APAT.

It is a holding tank, which will get taken down on the 20th, so funds can be transferred to the venue for the 26th.

As i"m used to the holding tank idea i didn"t take much notice of the tournament details but i did have a giggle at the following:

Starting Chips - 1
Blind Levels - 3 minutes
Starting Blinds - 1m/2m 100000 ante

I know there was a lot of pre-season talk about making sure we got down to the money on Day 1 but i think this is taking things too far!   ;D

Although it may suit some peoples game!

Leigh, is there any possibility of changing this to much later in the day?

The reason I ask is that, as I recall, registration opens around 4pm when we"re only in level 2 or 3 and we have no idea whether we"re going to be playing Day 2 or not (which the majority are not) as the day has only started.

Either that, or allow people who DO make Day 2 (and have pre-registered for the Specialist just in case) to withdraw and get their buy-in back. Or is this something we can already do?

Cheers Richard...I wasn"t sure if we were allowed to withdraw....didn"t know if the casinos allowed it.

I"ll be first in line then!  ;)

It is capped for the direct buy in at 120, I believe another 30 are available through sats and maybe other areas.  150 I think is the max for the tournament itself.

Unfortunately, at present, the only ways to enter will be via satellite next week or as an alternate at the event on the day.

Alternatively, seats at 888 may open up or you can post a request on the Seat Exchange Board to see if someone will sell you one.

I have no idea why but would think it is because this is a popular time for people to play tourneys. Any earlier and you have people at work and/or on parenting duties and unable to play. Any later and you are talking about late nights and a poor nights sleep before work the next day.

For all future events, there won"t be a clash as the live satellites will be in the first week of the month.  However, due to the timing of the announcement of season 5, we"ve had to slot the live ones in for next week at the same time as the online satellites.

Hope it doesn"t inconvenience players too much.

The satellites are being manually managed, so if you have already bought in, and haven"t yet unregged, 888poker will unreg you.

As far as winning seats in more than one satellite, we can"t stop players from doing it, but the satellites are meant for as many APAT members to get in through a cheaper route, so yes it would be frowned upon.

If you can take the frowning, then it is up to you.

At the casino only, usually from around 4pm on the Saturday.  It is a standard casino tourney, so if someone you know is there on the Saturday, they should be able to buy you in.

Need to confirm with venue, but the side event should start around 3pm

It"s capped at 50 runners.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is it likely to reach the cap of 50 players? I plan to travel down from Yorkshire on Sunday for the omaha tournament and am really looking forward to it - live omaha tournaments are so few and far between. I would be absolutely gutted if I arrived only to be told the thing is full.

The side events have proved pretty popular and Omaha particularly so it should fill up.

One thing though, if you are just travelling for this on Sunday, you should be aware that there is a small possibility that it will fill before you get there....not guaranteed...but it is possible.

You might want to investigate ways of getting bought in on Saturday...if there are any.

Did I see somewhere that the PLO registration will open while the main is in play on Saturday? Won"t that lead to half the field being blinded out while queueing to register for the following day?

As mentioned elsewhere, with the cap at 50 this will surely sell out in no time - especially as many people will already have planned to be there on the Sunday.

Part of the reason for the side events, were to ensure players that had made arrangements for the whole weekend, had an event to play on the Sunday should they bust the main event.

As seems to be the norm with APAT events these days, everyone wants to play everything, and demand far exceeds the available number of seats.

Registration opens to allow players to reg as they get knocked out of the main event, but as it is an open event, we cannot stop any players from registering once the poker room is taking payments.

Can we choose which UKIPT seat we take or is it just "the next one"? Would much prefer to do Brighton than Cork.

You can choose.
