Title: S5 round 1

Here we are, less than 4 hours to go before the big curtain-raiser you"ve all been waiting for ;D.

Use this thread to keep abreast of the position of the game, how Notts are doing, what we need to do to win, who"s playing for who - that sort of thing.

I"ll try to keep it updated regularly.

gutted!!!!!! was 18th in tournie and on 7000, on small blind and lost with two pair to trips on river losing 6800 then went all in with queens and lost to rivered straight, would of been handily placed but instead im out  :"(. Good luck all to notts massive and not bad turn out for first game  :)

Getting down to the business end now. Here"s how points are awarded:

Scoring Scheme

4 - Individual points will be allocated to the top eighteen finishing players at each match.  The individual points will be allocated as follows :-

1st = 25pts
2nd = 22pts
3rd = 20pts
4th = 18pts
5th = 16pts
6th = 14pts
7th = 12pts
8th = 11pts
9th = 10pts
10th-12th = 9pts
14th-15th = 6pts
16th-18th = 3pts

5 - A maximum of four players per club can score individual points in any one match for calculating team matchday points.  Should five players reach points scoring positions, the lowest of those points scorers will receive 0 individual points, and individual points will be allocated to the next best finisher.  In this example, the player finishing in 19th position would receive 3 individual points for for the purposes of deciding matchday team points.

A massive improvement for me over the previous seasons: simply cold-decked rather than getting muffed - makes a nice change! T9 < QT (flop QT9), then AQ < AK.  69th. gg.

...and denzal64 follows immediately in 68th place. I was really hoping denzal could get in the money tonight. He"s not been playing long and he played every game last season. He keeps getting deepish without quite binking. gg Dave.

Brilliant performance from Gary to get 4th place. Unfortunately we finish just outside the the team points but a damned good effort.

Notts finish in 5th place on 24pts, Sunderland were 4th also on 24pts but take 4th by dint of having more points scorers.

West Midlands take 3rd and 1 match point with 31pts.

Liverpool take 2nd and 2 match points with 36pts.

The mighty Luton take 1st spot and 3 match points on their Division 1 debut with an impressive 39pts.

wp notts...what did you make of the division in the 1st game?

Well I never really got started, was too busy trying to sort out who was playing for who and keeping track of exits. Will hopefully be more organised next week :)

unfortunately I think the change from 3 divisions to 2 is going to mean variance has a big part to play in the outcome of this. We were swamped by other teams number of players.
