Like many who"ll have seen the schedule posted in the Casinos hosting the Regional Events, I was under the impression that we had a bit of a "Live" lull in between January and April 2008. Having just looked at the Tour section of the website I was pleased to see the European Amateur Poker Championship on 22nd March and thought I"d make those less observant APATers, aware of it :o
Not that there"s much info available on it ... only what can be seen at http://www.apat.com/schedule_S2_National.php
If someone in-the-know could tell us whether Regional or Online Qualifiers are being planned and where the Event is likely to be held (please say Dusk Til Dawn!), I"d like to start sizing up flights, accommodation etc. ASAP.

I think Des, Rich and Tikay are still putting things together for this event.
No venue has yet been confirmed though, but I suspect we"ll learn more after the Welsh Championship.
looking at the schedule, I don"t believe that regional qualifiers or online satelites have been planned - I"d not like to speculate what this might mean.
The "clickfest" is planned for 18th February though.

I think regional qualifiers for this would be great, otherwise many players will be waiting till April before their next live event, maybe merge the regionals eg Newcastle , Blackpool and Manchester all at one venue etc. Just an idea.

Another observation to add to the speculation frenzy - March 24th is a bank holiday as Easter is early next year.

Please at least tell us WHERE it"s to be held. If it"s somewhere "holiday-makery" we might struggle to secure reasonable accommodation if left too late.
If it"s DTD though, we should be OK eh? Other than to APATers, I don"t imagine Nottingham"s top of many folks" list to spend Easter Weekend ;)
And again, it has been picked well in that it coincides with good footy on Sky Sports -
ManU v L***rpool and Chelsea v Ars*nal ("return legs" of last weekend"s games)
With this in mind, I have to bet that Des et al are unknowingly trying to get the Event held in Manchester! Anyone wanting to bet against it ... ?

I have absolutely no idea where it will be. Just don"t think Manchester would be the venue of choice - especially as it would be a step backwards from last year"s European in Luton.

Safe bet it wont be Manchester, the UK event has already been held there.
An "exotic" location such as Barcelona would be most welcome, as would a trip to the Bahamas, except that wouldn"t be in Europe would it....?
Hmm, I think the world, or at least the continent, is our lobster. Lets hope for somewhere away from a rainy bank holiday in the UK ;)
