Capacity is 120, which means there will be between 20-25 seats available direct from the casino.
We will liaise with the cardroom staff when we get there on the Friday night, but usually in this situation, we will make them available on a first come first served basis from noon on the Saturday (That is unless the venue have allocated any seats in the meantime)
Once the 120 filled, we will run an alternates list for the first two levels (90 mins), where we normally get anything from 2-8 more players into the event.
Failing that, you can always hang around and register yourself for the 6max side event that is taking place on the Sunday.
Hope that all makes sense.

Welcome to Glasgow.
I"m currently sat in the bar upstairs at the Gala Casino.
I can"t see the poker tables from here, but I have an internet signal. ;D
This could be a fun two days, bear with us, we"ll update as best we can, but we have no internet connection from the cardroom.
Play will start at 2:30pm. Seat draw is up on the at a glance thread.
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_X5lM7YiBEWc/TYys011TsfI/AAAAAAAADBM/WN9e3Mto4f4/APAT%20340x340%20At%20A%20Glance.jpg) (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=8346.0)
We"re sold out at 120 runners, with another 23 on the alternates list. 3 levels of alternates today, let"s see how many we can squeeze in.

How can sitting in a bar be a problem?
-
We"re underway, with table 12 playing a special "Tighty Dealer" game, so updates are going to be few and far between whilst we sort three levels of alternates.
Will try and see what we can do.
-
GL to all players, especially the Scots taking part.
My son"s birthday means I was never going to make this, but given the weather I"d rather be outside!
-
Just back home from sunny(ish) Spain.. good luck to everyone today
-
update on Frank Bailie please
-
End of level 1.
We"ve already lost Paul Irvine and David Boyd, so two alternates in, just another 21 alternates hoping it gets lively.
-

2 Minutes until a break, I"ll update chipcounts then.
At a glance is up to date with exits.
No it"s not, Paulie D has just gone out at the hands of reigning champ, Scott Wilson.

Nice one Leigh, we can now see when people went out :)

Yet at a glance has exit 114 - Scott Wilson, is there a story or were they both shorties?
-
update on Frank Bailie please
Frank is doing well, he still has his starting stack of 10k

Two Scott Wilsons. Scott Wilson (Ch) is the reigning champion Scott Wilson. The other Scott Wilson is not the reigning champion, and he"s out.

Especially for you Carl. I could have picked a better event to try doing this. Tighty is still dealing table 12, and now the TD has had to deal a table, so I"m TD"ing, updating, at a glancing, and will eventually get some photos up when I can get upstairs to get a 3G signal to upload them.
We love Scotland. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I lived in Glasow for 1 year, rained for 360 days... snowed the other 5...!!
-
Only 3 more outs and a table closes. Maybe you can have Tighty back then..!!

I think that 11 alternates got in, and 18 players are now out, so the alternates have well finished. You can see from the empty seats in the at-a-glance also.
:)

Figures. Since you are in Glasgow, I suppose you"d expect there to be lots of Scots and equally lots of Wilson"s ;D

Table 12 is done, so Tighty is a free man.
-
James Eccles was bored and played QJ.
On a flop of KQx he bets out and leaves on oppo.
On the Ace turn, James jams, and his oppo calls, and shows AK.
Scottish skipper, Eck, is out in 110th

But he went out ages ago
-
At A Glance thread is updated with chipcounts at the break and a avalanche of exits.
I really feel this is an award winning update. ::) Sorry guys, we"ll keep you as informed as we can with what"s going on, but technology and venue are very much against us here.
-
I"ll get photos up over night on the picasa account. We just can"t upload them from the cardroom, and I can"t get upstairs to get a better signal, as Rich and I are sharing TD duties.
-

I just spoke with him and passed on your message. He"s on 32k now and in the zone.
-
chip count on Frank Bailie ?
-
Alright Leigh, this sounds like a big nightmare!
Pass on good luck for Rich Baker please, and keep Tighty away from sharp objects. And Ger from the bar.
-
chip count on Frank Bailie ?
He"s nursing a 11k stack. Enjoying each and every chip in that stack.
-
Thanks Leigh, come on Frank you can do it and Kevin O Hanlon super stuff.
-
Frank Bailie out 38th
O"Hanlon going strong, with the thickest Irish Accent since a load of Englishmen were told to ham up the auditions for The Commitments
This is Tighty, on the Double Baileys, signing out for now
-
Andrew Duncan 25,000
He needs to win this, Debs went shopping whgen she was knocked out
Co-tabling with Curlarge Baker one of the chip leaders
Curlarge and I sat on the same side of the Easyjet plane up today. It"s a wonder the plane made it in the air
This is Tighty, on the Sherry, signing out
-
You may ask "How has today been Tighty?"
Well, dear reader, it has been a gamut of most human emotions. I dealt for five levels, TD"d for 5 and now have sent Leigh into bat. Armed with nothing more than a notebook and pen to fight off the hordes surrounding the tournament
Amongst the regs still in are Fat Charlie Sheen, Suzanne from Bath in Scotland, Scouse from Liverpool (oddly), Naz Wrigley and Mark Lockhart, who won a Nuts Poker league seat into this for £10. Very nice
37 left in Level 11 which is 600-1200/100. Average is 38k
This is Tighty, I need my bed, signing out
-
Send Richard my best wishes please, Leigh/Tighty... and tell him to keep hold of his "one time till final table".. team Luton expects .. no pressure ;D
-
Suzanne Hayward just wealked past me, visibly shaking
Why?
"I bluffed a massive pot and he folded"
She"s up to 90,000 and in the top 5 stacks with 30 left
Tighty
-
WOOOO go aunty suzy!!!!!! your doing fantastic!!! all 6 kidy winkles are in bed and i am finally getting some much needed silence hahaha
-
Go Suzy.... TID ;)
-
Just got home from a week at "Glorious" Goodwood.
Please pass on a good luck message to Suzanne.
Play like a mouse & TID !!
-
25 left, with 10 minutes of play to go today.
Then we"ll count up the chips and return at 2:30pm on Sunday to find out who will be crowned the 888poker Scottish Amateur Champion for 2011.

Morning everyone
As you might have gathered yesterday was a tricky day. Think Leigh did fantastically to get some stuff up here considering the technological barriers...the At a Glance thread was up to date all day
Today we start at 2.30pm with 26 left and 13 paid
Our first priority will be TDing the tournament and ensuring it runs smoothly
Then we"ll make sure At a Glance is as real time as possible for you
then this thread
It"s likely you won"t get the coverage you might normally expect, but we"ll do our best
This is Zorba the Greek, I don"t play poker I play life, signing out for now and off for some cholestrerol in neat form, at a breakfast establishment

Great day yesterday, cheers to Rich and Leigh for their hard work and looking after us as usual. Made it to work at 8am after 3 hours sleep and looking forward to joining you all again at 2.30. Brilliant meeting up with the APAT"ers again and enjoyed bumping into a number of my old Merchant City Gala mates.
Good luck to everyone still in, great fun as ever regardless of the result 8)

I thought last years winner got a complimentary entry into this years matching tournament. Obv not the case the last years winner was on the alternates list.!!
Only if he lets the organisers know he wants to play and doesn"t turn up unannounced when we are sold out with 20 on the alternates list already
Would be unfair to bounce him up the list at that stage, and we didn"t
-
I thought last years winner got a complimentary entry into this years matching tournament. Obv not the case the last years winner was on the alternates list.!!
Last years winner is always guaranteed a seat into the following years event, however, if last years champion turns up at 12:30 looking for a seat, after we are sold out and have 20+ on the alternates list, then they join the alternates list like everyone else.
We got everyone in eventually.

Suzanne down to 80,000 and the shell shocked look of one who has had to live with her sister for many years, as she raise-folds three times in one orbiut to dent her stack

Just seen previous post... Unlucky Scouse

A bit out of touch here but what is a redraw...?
A redraw is when you have the best hand and it gets outdrawn - If you have outs to still win, it is called a redraw,
A perfect example would indeed be the hand where the term was used
it was AK v QJss on a A s s flop. Grant hit the As to out draw the pair of Aces but the AK had 10 to make a full house or better.
-
would love Grant to win this now
glglglgl
-
The Six Max side event is already down to it"s final table.
Players still in include Sean Rowe, Frank Bailie, Rod Copeland and Charlie Kearns, who"s brother, Jamie, is still in the main event.

That would be outdrawn IMO apretty sure a redraw is a made hand that has a draw to an even better hand?? anyone care to clarify?
Grant FTW :D
-
Blinds are 5k/10k
On a flop of qh js 4d, Grant bets out 37k. Jon dwells for ages, then reraises to 92k.
Grant insta mucks, and gives a sigh.

ul scouse - come on then Grant, get it won

No, Rob"s description is absolutely spot on. The best hand gets out-drawn, then has a re-draw to become the best hand again. The classic being when a set gets it all in against a flush draw on the flop, the flush hits on the turn only for the set to "house-up" on the river

That would be outdrawn IMO apretty sure a redraw is a made hand that has a draw to an even better hand?? anyone care to clarify?
Grant FTW :D
OCD kicked in n i had to google it lol. here is the definition i found ....... REDRAW A draw to an even better hand when you are holding the best Hand. Hope it helps bill ;)

A perfect example would indeed be the hand where the term was used
it was AK v QJss on a A s s flop. Grant hit the As to out draw the pair of Aces but the AK had 10 to make a full house or better.
He actually had KK, not AK, so his redraw was to a better flush. Don"t suppose it matters so much now, but he made a very good all-in call on the A-high flop and was unlucky to lose to the flush-draw.
-

Well done Grant. Superb result.
-
Well done Grant!
Bad luck to Scouse and Susy, especially Scouse after that flush on flush hand. Massive cold deck!
As usual, a big thank you to Leigh, Rich et al. It appears that the casino didn"t realise they had to actually run the tournaments. Hmm. Of course, that meant that this was the best run tournament of the season because Leigh and Rich ran it! I loved the spreadsheet, Leigh!
See you at the Worlds.
-
Well done grant unlucky to everyone else see u all at dtd ;D ;D
-
Lot"s of deserving people left in but I am rooting for Richard baker as his form this year means he is due a score. Him to final table I reckon along with Scouse ad Suzanne.
Also would like to see Shug and Grant get a good result for their home event.
Well done to all who made day two though and good luck
Thanks for the support rodders....sadly others conspired against us >:( >:( >:(

Rich Baker gets busy with T3 and runs into 77.
