Title: APAT Forum Team - The Team
Post by: jbworldwide on September 18, 2011, 14:14:14 PM
Firstly thank you for all for your entries. I had 22 applications and from that I can only pick 7. So quite a few of you will be disappointed, and for that I am sorry, but thank you for applying.

So here is the team;

James Barber - Captain - jbworldwide
Phil Tompkinson - PhilTC
Ian Burnett - HaworthBantam
Grant Spiers - Santino67
Suzanne Hayward - Suzanne
David Llewellyn - Daiboot
Don Roberts - Hammerite
Ian Thompson - Pables

I believe this will be a strong balanced team and get us all the points we need to win. I spent a long time deciding this team and it was very difficult. I hope you all respect my decision, and get behind the team. We are in it to win it!

Those in the team, if you could send me your shirt sizes, we are currently working on the prices at the moment, and I will pm you shortly

Thanks

JB

Wow, just got 5 mins to myself, after Amanda has had me slaving in the kitchen for much of the day...  :D

Thanks for the selection, James, honoured to be part of such a great team - just hope I don"t let any of you down.

As for hotels, I"ve booked Amanda and I into the Hilton Garden Inn again - (the one in which Amanda got lost in the bathroom last year...) £50 a night, really comfortable, and about 2 miles from the G. Arriving on the Friday evening, and leaving on the Monday morning.

Fighting talk young lady... ;D

I shall be arriving, as usual, with minutes to spare on the Saturday.

I think I need to do some replanning though. Friday night is looking too good to miss.

Suz, I"m also arriving Saturday morning and staying at the Days Hotel. Beginning to regret not coming up Friday night as well though!

See you there :)

Woohoo cya there :)

I am delighted to be asked to fill in for Eck I cant promise the same prowess but I will try my very best and I will

endeavour to stay sober for a while  :-\

I look forward to meeting up with the rest of you guys and will see you at the casino on Friday night.

Ty James and a big thank you to Phil (ONE HAND) Tompkyfish for his kind words.....legend....... lunchtimes..... :D

Er this may be a silly question but what is everybody actually doing on the Friday night? Is there some game going on or are you doing something else? I need to know so I can make an informed decision if it is worth driving up to Luton after work on Friday.

No idea rodders but anything involving copious amounts of alcohol sounds good to me :)

There"s a Luton Team game on Friday night with guests allowed. On one of other threads, PM JP, think he"s involved

They will need all the practice they can get  :D

This is correct, thread over on the Luton Forum with a list of players including a number of APAT Regs. Structure TBC but was good last year plus added spot prizes and bounties from our unofficial sponsor.

4 Places left you are ALL welcome

Team Change.

Unfortunately James (Eck) is unable to make the event.  :"(

So I am pleased to announce that Ian Thompson (Pables) has taken his place.

:)

Shocking substitution guy will never get near the points imo.... :D

Well done Ian and unlucky guys, so near to the medals etc.

Mind you must be gutting to have been beaten by the APAT champions team by so much.......oh wait.  :D :D

Big well done the Forum team for achieving 4th in the points.

In particular Ian (Pables) for a great 2nd place which really put us in the hunt for 3rd place overall, vwp mate.

Thanks to Dai, Phil and Grant for following my plan and making the top 50 :) all the points contributions were important and all were unlucky in their exits. Have to win the races to win :)

Thanks to Ian (HaworthBantam), Suzanne and Don for being great members of the team.

Don I know you hung in there and was trying to squeeze into the points and it wasn"t to be getting very unlucky!

Suzanne getting beaten by Rob who had his rod out and landed a whopper on the river, you were correct to get your stack in the middle when you did, he just got lucky.

Ian I know you were gutted to go out so early and you didn"t even have your camera to keep you company, you were unlucky to walk into aces too!

Well of me, I had 30 mins of horror and I went out in a blaze of fire, the exit wasn"t even that great so the least said about that the better  >:(

In summary, I am very proud of the team I picked and you all did a great job, as I found out in the World Team games, you need your luck to hold to get the points you need.

We came very close and we were by far the most solid performers out of the APAT teams.

Well done all!  ;D

Oh and big thanks for the champions team for bringing the entertainment   :-*

Your welcome JB, was a pleasure to play for the team, and could not of wished for a better bunch of team mates, who all played their hearts out. Thanks for the pick and apologies for not sticking to the plan, but what can you do when a two outer smacks you on the river  :"( .   Hopefully catch up with you all later in the year.

Personally I loved every minute of the weekend, thanks again for the pick JB. Got to echo Don"s comment there, an absolute pleasure and honour to be part of the team, all stars in their own right and a great team spirit with everyone doing there best for the team. Great achievement to get half the team into the points which was the plan from day 1 and 4th overall.

Not just in the poker each person represented APAT perfectly.... some generally drinking the bar dry in some cases  ;D

Here"s a photo of Ian and I"s breakfast of Baileys Sunday monday before we started day 2. Good times. Ian modelling a tank top kindly donated by JP the night before haha

Will see some of you in a few weeks again.. and everyone else hopefully not long after x

Just got home and have to say had a tremendous time. Cheers for picking me for the Forum team James, it was a real pleasure trying to do my bit for a fantastic bunch of team mates. Many congratulations to Ian for his second place, unlucky in the end when the cards went against him into the medal spots. I was card dead for long spells on an aggro table, didn"t make for much play after the first few levels but glad I made it into the top 50 and got points for the team, my AK all in letting me down in the end on a very raggy board.

Great weekend with a great team, I"ll get a few pics up once we"re sorted here
