Title: Australian Horse Racing
Post by: CincinnatiKid on October 16, 2011, 10:38:43 AM
SOUTHERN Speed won the $2,500,000. Grade 1 Caulfield Cup.
German bred LUCAS CRANACH got my attention. Finished 5th, sadly slightly lame but no abnormality.
Melbourne Cup in mind it was a nice rehearsal. Keep in mind this horse for any combine bets for the australian horse race of a year.;) Big heart and stamina this horse!

AMERICAIN won the Mooney Valley Cup, 250.000AU$1.4m, soft ground. The french trained horse is still favorite for the upcoming Melbourne Cup 2011. 2nd TULLAMORE and german bred ILLO with a good debut downunder 3rd.

Totaly european triumph. What a race, amazing. DUNADEN has won the Melbourne Cup by photo decision just less than a nose. Ed Dunlop trained RED CADEAUX runs a great race as an underestimated longshot and finished 2nd. Sadly for my Triobet AMERICAIN as 4th had to made to much ground from the back of the field and couldnt catch german bred LUCAS CRANACH and was beaten by a nose too.  UNUSUAL SUSPECT runs a good race and finished 7 or 8.

# 7 UNUSUAL SUSPECT, sadly not the best race.  When they came into the stretch last horse, then a punch of horses in front of him, 300m a passage opened and try to catch up, cramped at 200m, seems lost a bit speed and beaten just 3,5 l to DUNADEM 9th. Top 3 possible I guess.
