Solent Poker Club - Captain
« on: November 29, 2011, 23:16:16 PM »
As the members of the team know, I am intending to step down at the end of this season.

It has been a cracking three seasons, winning Division 2 with something to spare, finishing 2nd in Division 1 (just missing out on the title in the last game) and then almost certainly finishing 3rd in Div 1 again this time.

It is time now for someone else to take the team forward, hopefully to the Div 1 title.

I have pm"d the team about the vacancy but I"ll post here as well in case people miss the pm.

PM me if you are interested in captaining one of the winningest teams in the league.

I suspect John was the pioneer for the much vaunted yet equally maligned art of recruitment.

Thanks for all of your efforts John, you"ve been a fab captain over the past few seasons.  It"s good timing in some ways though as I wanted to talk to you about the England captaincy for the next WCOAP...  ;)

Top stuff John, you have a done a great job with a very talented team - congratultions on the success that you and the team have had.

Lets hope that we can get someone in place prior to Brighton as that presents a briliant recruiting opportunity for a new captain to target.

Sad to hear John, you"ve done a great job and have been far more successful than I was in bringing players in!

Hopefully the next captain will do as well :)

Brighton will be a great opportunity to recruit new players and bolster the team. It"s the first time there has been an APAT National close to us - I know plenty of Solent players who have never played a live APAT before who are going to play this. It"s gonna be a Solent party!
