Secured my entry for GP VII yesterday on the fourth bullet - so E22 invested in a E120 entry comp and a chance (slim in the extreme) of a second CPP package.
I"ll be playing Day 1a again and hope to see plenty of APAT members there.

Last nights Stockton Massive Home Game had just seven of us playing. Amongst the highlights for me was a hand vs FatBoyCatStu.

At 50/100 I raised QQ to 275 from cutoff into his BB
Stu called and the check raised my cBet on an 4K7 flop
I called and he led out on the A turn for just over half his stack

Now... that looks like a K on the flop, but what K is he leading with when the A comes? AK? No chance he doesn"t 3bet that pre. So, to my mind he has either a set, or two pair type hand or nothing/very little. I opted for very little and shoved.
He called with 84 and failed to improve...
"CHIPS PLEASE"

I know I can be wrong here, he can have 74 and K4 and K7 as well as 44 and 77 (if you doubt me, remember he did have 84) but I"m working hard on going with my instinct in these spots and Stu does rhyme with spew...

OK, enough is enough.

This is just plain old-fashioned wrong.

£500,000 for a dog act?

What is wrong with this country?

I don"t watch "talent" shows to any detail but the daughter"s both do and I"m kind of forced to take an interest of sorts by Lucy showing me and her mum the clips of the better acts as the series progresses.
So I was familiar with the athleticisism of the syncronised swimmers, the togetherness of the boys choir and indeed the freakishness of the big girl and the even bigger lad who seemed to sing their socks off every week.
The choir or the freakily talented twosome seeemed to be the obvious choice. True talent being shown there.

But no, that part of the Great British Public that chooses to vote in these things thought not. The lobotomised masses decided that the toothygirl with the cute doggie were the peak of talentedness in 2012.

I am, officially, depressed by this.

Meantime the local G is running a 2day event next weekend. £100 buy in, 45 minute clock, GUKPT structure with 20000 stack. Sadly, it"s had little or no publicity, has no guaranteed prize pool and is shceduled for the week before a £200 similar structure event at Gala.
I"m tempted, but only if it"s going to get 50+ runners.

Got to agree, the dog act very cute first time, boring second time third time oh the same thing again, will she be doing a nationwide tour filling arenas, don"t think so then again she has half a million in the bank, as an aside good luck to her nice payday.

Regarding the G again stupid timing, no guarantee no publicity, although manager says a few from Newcastle may be down, why wasn"t it publicised 2/3 months ago, have weekly sats get afew more in, it"s easily the best card room to play in out of the 2 in the area, it needs to do something more positive to get the players in, it has improved from when it first opened but it still needs work.

Also for an extra £50 plus a bit of fuel the always superb Dtd has a 50k gteed on each weekend this month I think, G pull your fingers out.

I unfortunately can"t play (pretty stupid rant above then), my other carer can"t look after Susan on Saturday so unless a cure for MS is found in the next 7 days I won"t be there.

Lots of online satellites for DTD too...
Although the G field will be somewhat softer a satellite seat would mean effectively freerolling hotel and fuel costs so the major difference is sleeping in your own bed and being able to just go home when you bust out

No decision yet, may just late reg at G next weekend if they get a decent size field, or save it for the WSOP Weekend at DTD

Out last night. Avoided the news. Driving home this morning, hear they"re going to talk about Britains got talent, switch off radio. Decide that APAT forum should be safe... oh Dave"s updated his blog, great  :)

p.s. just to get this right... the guy who flopped the straight...

1. Check calls the flop
2. Checks the turn
3. Then check raises once the boards paired and has 3 suited cards on it?

???

Isn"t the run in more like this  ::) .... Man U flop the straight and thinks it happy days... but gets rivered after thinking they played it brilliantly and everyone points and giggles a bit at the end?  ;) x

p.s. giggle  ;) x

Football eh? Bloody he"ll.

Thus spoke SAF after the treble was secured through two injury time goals in 1999. A season in which late goals had been a matter of routine for United.

Today, sigh, late goals killed us. Not just the two from City today, but the four they notched against us at OT, and the two from Everton in the 4-4.

The fates conspired today Barton"s sending off meant that the game at the Etihad was still playing when the Stoke Bolton game had finished and QPR knew they were safe whatever happened after the equaliser.
Don"t get me wrong, City deserved the title. It just played out perfectly for them.

Sigh...

Had a run at the DTD WSOP weekend satellites last night and tonight. The feeders and indeed the mini-feeders make it really cheap to have a shot at some decent prize pools, but both nights I"ve suffered from a combination of bad play, bad timing and some bad beats.
One from memory, for some reason HEM misses some hands on DTD - I 3bet  Ah Kh and got flat called. I opted to check behind on a Jxxhh flop and then over shoved his lead on the  Qs turn.
Obviously he has QQ and I miss. I think if I"m shoving this hand I should do it on the flop. Regardless of his hand I get best value from the shove since it"s unlkely i get a call on a heart turn.
One from HEM - this was the £150 mega sat with 6 seats on offer.
