Trophies
« on: March 24, 2012, 16:06:23 PM »
Quick awards update.

APAT pay approximately £4,000 per annum for trophies alone, and I"m planning to cut that cost back and only award trophies for the winners of the WCOAP main and team events this year.

We"ll retain the medals at all live and online main events and extend those to the top three in all live team events also.

Plus every live and online main event winner will be awarded a Genting Poker Seat, in addition to the UKIPTs for the National Online League.

I am also investigating the possibility of awarding unique WCOAP bracelets for all title winners this season, along the lines of the WSOP (without the bling!).

Wow - that"s a lot of money : Cut Medals and re-route monies to value-added??

Bracelets would be cool though ...

I"m happy for the trophies to go...might be nice to have in the photo but after that they would just collect dust.

I like the trophies but if they have to go so be it. I wouldn"t be spending the savings on bracelets though.

Good decision. I did not realise they were so expensive.

Glad we are keeping medals though. I feel they add something special and treasure mine.

Bracelets would be in place of medals for the WCOAP.

Team Medals would be great, so when we defend it this year we will all get one :)

Probably my lowest point in poker not getting one for winning the team event :(

Retain a trophy for photo"s at casino. Explain to trophy "winner" that they"re a bugger to clean so that they go away happy.

Ditch the bracelet idea, stick with medals. Medals are easier to display in BOINGBLITZ"s trophy cabinet. Tony Trippier is loud enough without the jangling of bracelets IMO.
