WCOAP 2019 Details For Players
« on: April 16, 2019, 20:19:05 PM »

Ladies & Gents, we look forward to welcoming you to the conclusion of APAT's Season 12 - the 11th holding of the World Championship Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP).

Please direct any questions/queries on the WCOAP to myself via PM HERE or via Facebook Messenger HERE, or post on this thread, especially if you think it could be beneficial to others...

I'll be in attendance throughout, mainly working alongside venue staff to ensure a smooth running of the WCOAP, and handling any player queries etc, whilst also aiding Lucy Amos to provide player lists and bust outs and a live update/blog/pics on events via both the APAT Forum and Facebook/Twitter.  As per previous years, with such an ambitious schedule, we will endeavour to blog more than this whilst concentrating on Final Table full blogs (obviously with numerous daily events we may not be able to cover them all fully).  Leigh Wiltshire will be joining us from Tuesday onwards where he will primarily concentrate on the Team Championship players, results and leaderboard throughout Tue/Wed, and thereafter, be providing live stream at times throughout the week.

VENUE

Concord Card Casino Wien Simmering, Karl-Gunsam-Gasse 1, 1110 Wien, Austria
Tele:    +43 1 7490136
Website:  here
Facebook:   here

Opening Times:   The casino and poker room are open 24/7.  For your first visit you need to register on arrival with Photo ID, and you will be given a 'casino card' which will be all you need to bring along for subsequent visits.

Parking:  There is free limited parking at the venue, with street parking around the casino available but it is a pay zone Mon - Fri 9am -7pm (tickets available at casino cashier, approx €2ph)

Dress code:   No sleeveless shirts or similar for males - other than that basically any clean clothes are fine - including shorts.

APAT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

All Hold'em events with an Ante will be played as a Big Blind Ante.  Event details may be subject to change, which includes during the event at the discretion of APAT/TD.

APAT EVENT REGISTRATION AND BUY-IN

All players will be issued a tournament receipt when registering for an event, which the player will surrender to the dealer upon taking their seat, and at this point they will be given their chip stack.

An Alternates List will be held for all events, with names added to the list up until the end of late registration, and players on the list will then be offered a seat as one becomes available.

Eventbrite Reserve A Seat

Players may reserve a seat in advance via the APAT Eventbrite facility HERE and this facility will close when all allocated seats are taken.  Please ensure you read here for details of the APAT Eventbrite facility terms and conditions.

For those who reserved a seat via the APAT Eventbrite facility then you must claim your reserved seat by turning up and registering/buying-in in full at the latest 30 MINS PRIOR to the advertised event start time - failure to do so will mean your seat will IMMEDIATELY be re-allocated (and if you turn up later than this then you will have to take a chance that a seat is available).  If you have reserved a seat, then please ensure you DO NOT stand in a queue behind players who have not reserved - ESPECIALLY if you are near to the '30 minutes prior' deadline!  Fee free to come to the front of the queue and mention to the venue staff that you have a reserved seat... if you end up standing in a queue, and it gets to the 30 minutes prior stage, there is a possibility that max capacity is reached before you get to the desk and you will have lost your reserved seat by this stage - don't be shy - get to the front :)

Event Registration On The Day

Event registration will take place at the poker room tournament desk on the day for all events.  For the first event of the day this will open 30 minutes prior to that first event, with all subsequent events having registration open 60 minutes prior to the event start time.

Pre-Registration / Buy-In

For players who may wish to register / buyin in advance of any event (ie not on the day of the event) then they may make arrangements directly with myself BEFORE THE DAY OF THE EVENT, and working with the venue, I will register and buy them into each event before it opens for registration on the day.  For those who register this way, they will be allocated a seat in the initial seating draw and the player will be given their chips when they take their seat - chips will not go into play from the start of the event, even if you are late to arrive (and hence nor will blinds be posted) - you do NOT need to turn up to register again - just turn up and take your seat and claim your chips with your tournament receipt (which will be held by the tournament registration desk until you claim it).  NB NO PLAYER MAY UNREGISTER FROM ANY EVENT AFTER THAT EVENT HAS STARTED - IF A PLAYER HAS NOT TAKEN THEIR SEAT (AND CLAIMED THEIR CHIPS) BY THE END OF THE LATE REG PERIOD, THEN CHIPS WILL GO INTO PLAY AT THIS TIME AND BLINDS WILL BE POSTED BY THE DEALER WHEN DUE).

Team entry to the Team Championship on Tue/Wed is controlled by APAT and entry is available by APAT INVITATION ONLY.

PLAYERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT-IN FOR MULTIPLE OVERLAPPING EVENTS

We recognise for WCOAP 2019, where we have a lot of multiple-day events, that not being able to multi-table may restrict event choices and enjoyment throughout the week, and therefore for WCOAP 2019 players WILL be allowed to multi-table, HOWEVER, where a player reaches any Final Table, then the player MUST play that Final Table and only able to play any other event when the Final Table is on a break.

NO PLAYER MAY UNREGISTER FROM AN EVENT AFTER THAT EVENT HAS STARTED

PRIZES

Each exact event prize pool breakdown will be confirmed at the venue after the event has closed for further entries.

All Championship event winners (including the 4 members of the winning team from the Team Championship, and members from the Tag Team Championship) will be awarded a coveted WCOAP Bracelet and the top 3 players and teams an APAT Gold, Silver and Bronze medal (medals in team events are awarded for team performance only, not individual performance).

PLAYER OF THE SERIES

The Player Of The Series (POTS) will be identified as the player in the WCOAP 2019 who scores the most ranking points from all ranking events at the WCOAP 19th - 28th April.  If 2 or more players top the POTS Leaderboard then it will be decided on most cashes, and then the highest finishing position in the Main Event.

The POTS will win a WCOAP 2020 Passport to include entry to the Main Event and to 2 Side Events.

APAT POKER LEAGUE OF NATIONS (PLON) LADIES SERIES

The APAT PLON Lady Of The Series will be identified as the lady in the WCOAP 2019 who scores the most ranking points from all ranking events at the WCOAP 19th - 28th April.  If 2 or more ladies top the leaderboard then it will be decided on most cashes, and then the highest finishing position in the Main Event.

A Tiffany & Co. bracelet will be presented to the APAT PLON Lady Of The Series.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please note the event is subject to the terms & conditions of the Amateur Poker Association & Tour.

FINALLY

As a member of the Amateur Poker Association and Tour, we would like you to be aware of your expected role in our collective responsibility to ensure that the weekend is memorable and enjoyable for not only every participant - but for everyone involved within the venue and in the organising of the events.   We would appreciate you doing your bit to ensure that every player comes away having had the best possible poker experience with APAT.

The best of luck to everyone - we look forward to seeing you there.
