We were saddened to hear that Mary Martin could not make it down today.  Stuart Oliver has stepped up as captain and has filled the spot himself.

Caz here....

The first player out was........

Simon Auckland for England. He was down to 350 chips after losing his trip Jacks to a flush.

Not long after he picked up  ad1 :2d: with four limpers pre flop.  After the flop all checked, and a 2nd diamond on the turn, Simon has a flush draw and gut shot straight.

Simon pushes All In but doesn"t hit and top pair wins, and Simon is gone.

We"ve just lost Steve Stringer of England, when his Queens lost to the Aces of German player Thomas Schmidt.  Thomas made quads when the board had been dealt!  Tough start for England with two players out early, without scoring points.  The pressure increases on Bob Malin and Linda Iwaniak.

Interesting hand on table 2.  Geza Szabo of Hungary raised to 200 and Ireland"s Colin O"Prey called speculatively with 5 8 offsuit.  The flop brought K 8 8 Both checked. Turn was a 5.

All in after the turn.

River came a K.

Colin doubles through.

Darren Shallis (Wales) out on Table 3.

He ran his 7"s into A"s of Jean-Michel Ballocchi (France).
