Unfortunately Rob I will travelling on my own again to Sri Lanka so the double act from South Africa will not be performing, will see if I can find a replacement on tour, but the dry wit and humour of Greenie is had to emulate.

Have been doing a bit of investigation on popular bars when I will be in Sri Lanka, it always amazes me to which corners of the earth that the Irish get too.

#1 Entertainment rating out of 32 on Lonely Planet in Columbo

Clancy"s Irish Pub
Colombo's stab at Irishness offers pub grub and a variety of beers and ales, including Guinness. It's a popular spot, with regular quiz nights, live music on weekends and a few couches to sink into. All drinks are discounted 50% during the daily 6pm to 8pm happy hour. Long pants are required attire.

Good to see England look more like the #1 test side in Abu Dhabi, great start to the day skittling out the tail and then putting some runs on the board. Just a shame the last hour saw 4 wickets fall.

Hopefully Bell, Prior and the normal wag of the England tail will see a good lead built tomorrow morning.

Great to see Panesar back in the side, although strange that he bowled twice as many overs as Swann.

57 days and counting until Sri Lanka.

I thought I"d post this especially for you Rob, a lost video that has been found.  The Sum up of the South Africa tour by Greenie after arriving home after the dramatic draw in Cape Town the day before.  Shame he won"t be in Sri Lanka.

Two weeks today and I will be on my way, tour merchandise and full itinerary received this week.

Night flight on the 23rd March arriving in Colombo around lunchtime on the 24th and then a transfer to a beach hotel at Unawatuna just outside Galle the location of the first game, a day and a half to become accustomed to the time change and prepare for the 1st Test on the 26th.

The area around Galle has some of the best beaches on the South Coast and I will dig out some photo"s to cover this off. Starting to look forward to this and especially to the test in Galle, the area is a World Heritage site and the ground is reputed to be one of the most picturesque in the world.

Hectic week to cram everything into before flying on Friday evening !

Awards dinner tomorrow night and a Gala dinner on Thursday night to attend, completed the majority of my packing this evening, lots of polo shirts, chinos and shorts, along with a fair supply of sun cream ! Forecast is looking good, although it"s going to be hot, 90 degrees most days.

Looking forward to this.

Alex Stewart saying it"s a tough place to go because of the climate.

Wondering whether I"m taking enough tops now, may have to wring them out every couple of hours and I won"t be doing anything energetic  :)
