Dear Member,

Welcome to the latest edition of the APAT Newsletter, which confirms the result of the UK Amateur Championship, outlines details of the second match in the Online National League and confirms satellite and main event details for the Welsh Online Championship.


Congratulations to Birmingham"s Steve Redfern, who has won the APAT United Kingdom Amateur Poker Championship, which was held at the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall last weekend.

Steve beat 205 players to the Title, Championship Cup, Gold Medal and £3,500 first prize. Tod Wood took the Silver Medal while Scottish Team Captain, Stuart Oliver, secured the Bronze.

For an entry of £75, Steve also won an entry to the prestigious Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Champion of Champions event, being held later this year, courtesy of tour sponsor Blue Square.

A summary report and interviews were filmed for broadcast on "In Poker", on the Sky Poker Channel 865.

The second match of the Online National League will take place at Blue Square on Sunday, February 15th, at 8.00pm.

The League features teams from 30 online poker clubs, spread around the United Kingdom and Ireland. Over 600 players have already registered to play in this season long event. The League is open to all APAT members and offers a great opportunity for recreational players to interact in a competitive, but fun environment.  Use the link below to sign up for the poker club closest to your home.

After the first match, the divisions are being led by Belfast (Northern Division), Leeds (Central Division) and Southampton (Southern Division).

The eventual League Champions will win four GUKPT main event seats!

The Welsh Online Championship main event will take place on Saturday February 21st at 8pm.  The buy in to the event is $50 + $5 and the winner will receive a significant cash prize, National Gold Medal and an entry to a GUKPT main event worth over £1,000.

Satellites will take place at 8pm on Monday ($10 + $1 Freezeout) and Tuesday ($5 + $0.50 Rebuy).
