Decent cash session to wipe out football losses plus another $265 ... playing 5 handed $1/2 ...

Could have been a lot more ... KK vs Q9 into Qxx ... runner runner flush ...

Followed by a turn card that gave me two pairs vs a straight.

Earlier created enough tilt for the K7s to re-shove into my AA ... sweet ...

Anderson on form in the darts ... pleasing ...

In the midst of the $54 Russian daily on Betfair - 145 runners - early days - nothing happening.

Won £60 on Kilmarnock to win at St Mirren - just under 2/1 after 40 mins without goals.

Hopefully Anderson obliges in the darts for an epic start to the year.

I have decided to be a bit more disciplined this year.

Probably dumped c$1,000 on nonsense play/bets last year ... avoid this and play a $1,000 buy in ... not sure they is a Vegas trip this year??

We are heading to Lapland - may be tough to find a game there!

Also Japan/Australia/Malaysia later in the year ... maybe a mini visit to the Crown Casino in Melbourne??

I went to the Crown, ridiculously before I picked up poker. From one end of the casino, the other end is over the horizon three time zones away. 80% Chinese from what I remember.

UL on Anderson, though I know you locked in a decent chunk anyway. Nice.

I locked the whole thing out before the off for a £880 profit ... but annoyed that I did not bet on Lewis to score more 180s ... he was 2/1 ... and although it felt like a coin flip I dallied ...

Played some nice cash earlier to recoup MTT loss ... now up watching the Ashes ... head not into sleeping at the moment which is foolish as I have a big day tomorrow workwise ...

I guess - I can write my emails now and then hit the sack ...

Another promising cash session de-railed by KK vs A5 in T55 ... lost the min ... but cut profits to $55 ... a convenient amount to freeroll into the $12k g"tee SH deepstack ... currently 23rd of 27 (40 paid) ... was going beautifully well until TT vs 97 in 9xx ... lost to the extra 9 on the turn ... spew ...

Just choose a spot now ... well 18BB ... can be a little patient ... try a squeeze or two ...

Another absurb night of football ... could be an amazing relegation battle ... Chelsea needing 5 points for "safety" ...

Final Result 10th of 265 for $233 ... got out of jail with KQ into Kxx vs AA ... but then lost a AQ vs 55 race .. Axx ... 5 ...

Short stack luck required ... TJs into QQ 5 handed ...

Pretty solid stack to the year - Darts and Poker ... pleasing.

Mmmm ... -$140 today ...

-$85 on cash due to spiking a king on the river vs AK

Tournament - great start - then bit of a rollercoaster then 99 vs TT after a 567 flop ... always dying there with a mid stack ...

Not sure if playing cash is the correct solution to the day ... count to 1000 and then see what I think??

Session 2 - no better : -$230 ... bed ...

I love playing cash ... I hate playing cash ... you"ve seen it all before ...

TT called by the mid stack with KJs

AQ spikes vs AA

General play was a bit too loose - which make it even harder to get again from anything you hit ...

2011 : +$1500 ... how long will that last??

TAX RETURN JOY - £732

This is a real boose to my happiness - I was delaying my attempt to find the relevant paperwork to submit my return.

Ahead of this I had bought into the Betfair Live event - so next stop the Hendon Mob to find my next adventure!

My plan for the year it to spend half of my UK in Scotland ... could be tricky!

(I am wearing yellow cords and mountain trekking boots - ideal from my return to London!)

As a total aside - I was thinking about my last visit to Japan - some local came up to me in a pub and ask whether I was one of the contestants on their "sumo wresting reality show" ... I liked this idea ... but sadly it remains a myth.

That said when I went shopping in Tokyo I had to go to a special shop for mammoths and giants in order to buy a fur coat ... (not real fur) ...

I then boarded a plane for Melbourne for the coldest Christmas in Melbourne"s recent history ... 12 degrees C ... dressed as a Santa ... then went to the cricket ... the day I watched Symonds and Hadyn (spelling?) scored about 265 unbeaten and I got sunburned before going to the casino where I was card burned ...

4 years on and England are kick ass ... fair play to them and Andy Flower ... scorching the myth that England need an English manager ...

Where will I be in four years time?

Interesting gambling day ...

Bet on Middlesboro to win at Burton Albion ... but closed the bet when 1-0 up ... so delighted to see them lose ...

Lost a little on the fumbling Phillips on the darts vs Adams.

Bigger bet on Dekker to win the Championship ... looking like a coin flip vs Winstanley ... and then the stumbling Adams ... nice 12/1 shot ...

Nice action ... darts is a sport.

Lucky 7s?

Not today - in my two main tournaments - I shoved 77s into QQ and AA ...

Card dead in one, the inpatient unbeliever in the other.

... looking forward to the Betfair Live event Feb 12/13th ... but time to get my head back into business.

Good luck on the tables.

Put in a pretty average cameo cash game appearance last night ... bad luck and bad play ... a dynamite combination ...

2011 profits eroding quickly ... mmm

On the plus side managed to fall asleep and henced fail to bet on Winstanley vs Adams on the darts ... it"s such a great gig for Adams ... £100k a year for the BDO world championship for doing nothing special at all ...

Played some epic "fatboy football" last night ... at times it felt my mind was linked to someone else"s body ... but a good run out.

I woke this morning with the thought of pioneering a form of winter "pitch and putt" using spades and footballs ... it might catch on, and I am sure digging giant holes in the greens would go down well.

Not sure what poker can tempt me today?
