Betfair $50k ... card dead ... I patiently wait for the AA ... get it all in pre to triple up vs JJ ... but get spiked ...

Perhaps my last hand pre Nottingham??

Smile - looking forward to playing some great cards - currently on train to London - pondering whether I can hack another attempt at the Sunday Warm Up??

Classic Sunday - hire 3/4 movies and hope I am still alive as they finish!

Feels like an incredibly long time since last at DTD - one year ago.

Even thinking back to Newcastle and the Home Internationals seems a long time ago.

Need some Silverware ...

... and more immediately some golf bets on the go!

Day 1 of Team Event.

Solid 44 points - Leaders have 55

Individually 14 points

NLHE 5th : losing AQ into Qxx vs AA and AQ vs AT in successive hands
PLO 5th : losing AAxx vs QQxx after epic card dead run

Heads Up to wins ...

Middle of the pack ... but everyone in play ...

Day 2 - No Mistakes made - but not enough to help win Scotland a medal.

NLHE 2nd : Ousted KK vs Q6s - lots of Q"s on the board
MTT : 6th : Short Stack throughtout - waited patiently - the final shove J6 into 76 - but no joy with a 7 on the flop ...

4 exits - all in when ahead - yet top individual points scorer - but 4th place and no medal.

I guess you always look to learn something from such events - there were marginal hands to play differently - but little really that I would change beyond cards standing up.

Main Event to come - who knows where my head will be for that?

Strange to be typing this at 5.40am - one tournament to bed - with another to rise tomorrow!

Interesting chat in the bar - poker hands and ranges - and the ability to sometimes get away from coolers and then come back to win.

Some talk about the structure of the event too.

In truth I wouldn"t do a lot to it - points could be tweaked and stacks made deeper - antes could be brought in earlier to create more play - but in the end Wales" MTT prowess shines through again to take down the win.

Time for bed and to dream of raising hands of all shapes and sizes!

Next up - how to win the Main Event on 2hrs40 sleep ...

I really don"t do late nights - but good to be leaving the bar just past 5am.

Key question - Is Red Bull or Guinness the solution?

Battle plan is in place.

FTW

Main Event ... no joys ...

Tried to play allsorts but missed everything ... finally getting ousted with KK vs AA (JJ also folded) ... don"t think I folding that.

Great eccles cake on the way home ...

... the Eccles cake now a faint memory ... starting to ponder the Sunday Warm up ...

Athletics betting off to a good start - opposing Farah in the 10000m - lost by a whisker - not the way I thought it would go (losing to the fast finishing Jelian) but I"ll take the money ... perhaps the pre-amble to Olympic victory ...

Next up Yohan Blake to beat Usain Bolt??? 13/1 is massive - in what should be a close race - I expect Blake will run 9.80 - so by how much can Bolt beat that??

Should be a great race ...

WALLOP!

Bolt is the man ... look left ... look right ... then produce a massive false start!

13/1 become 1/2 in a flicker ...

+£759 on the day ...

GAME ON!

... obviously betting 0-0 correct scores is an ocassional hobby ...

Hard to believe Man City were 6/4 to win at to Spurs ... a reasonable missed opportunity ... could have been closer ... Dzeko superb ... going forward City both precise and powerful ...

Had a little bet on there being a penalty in the Hearts vs Hibs game.

Pondering having a lump on Man U but 2/5 is weak (or maybe about right!)

Sunday Warm Up has just begun ...

Sunday Warm Up ...

Great start playing every hand before trapping the now disbelivers with a set ... 37.7k vs 15.5k ... even managed to lay down the overpair vs top set for a min loss ... but back to reality with my set getting gobbled up with a set between by a 4 to a flush nonsense ... time to re-group 23.3k vs 18.6k ...

Table captaincy over ... back to the semi-grind forward ...

Break 3

20.2 vs 24.6k : 300/600 (60) : Total Runners 3130 : Left 1280 : Probably 475 paid : But amusingly you can still enter!

No pressure yet - but a shame to not have a dominate stack due to a ropey flush - I could have killled the action but I don"t think that is usually my plan.
