RT -$810 ... Sunday Warm Up paid for ...

In the hunt for another ticket ... I played a fully subscribed DS ... 100 Runners ... ten get paid ... (something at least) ...

Epic heads up battle ... and I finish 11th ... when I choose to push with K6 in AA ... earlier I pushed K9 into AA ... live cards please!

On a bright note ... no real bad beats either way ...

RT -$871

Played another DS ... going well after KK vs 77 win ...

Starting to get into the middle of the field when KK again UTG ... min raise ... let"s in the big blind ... J9x flop ... not enough chips to do anything else but all in ... of course the BB has J9 ... could have raised more ... but wanted re-raised ... fair play ...

Tennis deserves a fifth set ... would love Roddick to come back ...

RT -$942

Made Final Table in the APAT ... short stacked for most of the game ... 9th was okay ...

Edinburgh looking good for at least two points.

Not losing with AA at the moment ... but developing a nasty habit of running into it ...

In the Warm Up turned top set ... river gave opponent gutshot straight ... I could have chased him away ... but not sure that is the right thing to do?

Running average ... I think average makes you lose ...

RT -$954

Got to final table of DS ... lost to higher ace ... fair enough.

Monday mornings are weird when you are not working ... sort of cool ... but sort of barren/sparse.

For the last ten weeks I have been on career break ... and I have almost forgotten what Monday mornings feel like.

For the ten years before I was very much in work and achieve mode - so Mondays were exciting /stressful/tiring - there are little pangs to go back to the city ... I guess they will be much stronger by the end of the summer.

I love the feeling of working as hard as you can ... something to ponder as I walk on the beach ...

RT -$974 with Poker Stars tournament in play ... $23k in the pot ... 991 runners left ... I am just below average ... no dramas.

Watched University Challenge tonight ... way back in 1993 I was picked for the Dundee team.

We never made the TV ... but I watch with interest ... interesting watch you forget and also what you acquire as compared to student days.

Quizzes are pretty weird ... I like them ... but there are people who treat them as a "profession" ... that feels weird.

I used to love 15-1 at 4.30pm ... I failed to get on it when I was 18 ... but managed to score 66/85 one day ... what a waste of time ... who cares that Basil Spence designed Coventry Cathedral in itself? You want to know something below this skimming ...

As a total aside - I once upon arriving into Coventry asked the guy next to me on the train who designed the cathedral - and he knew - I was oddly impressed.

As a double aside the guy in question - was a professional chocolate photographer - which is impressive.

(The trouble with photographing chocolate is that it melts ... so they make models to photograph which aren"t chocolate at all ... or so I remember)

As a triple aside - the most famous person I nearly met on a train was John McCririck.

... kicked out 350th ... with 252 paid ... do the right thing ... get spiked.

400/800/100

Limp UTG with 88.

Flop T34 rainbow

SB bets just under the pot 2700 into 3300 ... I go all in ... for another 10,600 to call ... called by 77 ... 7 on the river ... CLASSIC ...

I guess I do want called for the two outs twice ... would be nice if these stood up more often than currently ...

Played pretty well ...

Raise pre

Raising pre with 88 UTG ... yeah go for it ... easy solution afterwards ... all the chips in with the odds 90/10 in my favour ... have to take that ... and the beat with due relish.

Mmmm ... the final table bubble 11th of 418 ...for $116.50

RT - $890.

I will claw it back from here ... last hand AQ vs TT ... can have no real complaints as won a few races earlier.

Last two tables pretty explosive ... could have got chips in bad and got lucky ... but I think better to dodge bullets when holding absolute trash ...

Early night ... or more poker??

Unlucky...just needed to win that 50/50.  AJ v AJ didn"t help when you really needed a double up.
