World Series Of Poker 2007
« on: May 26, 2007, 18:24:20 PM »
On the weekend that APAT goes to Dublin, the 38th World Series of Poker will kick off at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, creating the most incredible festival of poker the world has ever seen.

We understand that a number of the final tables will be streamed live on the internet and the series should make for rivetting discussion and viewing throughout June and July.  APAT will be posting links to streamed final tables and event reports here within the live poker forum.

So, which British, European or "Star" player will be creating the headlines this year?

No doubt the forum will update us on our own main event player during the proceeds, why don"t the members let us know if they have qualified or have friends who have qualified and will be playing.

There"s a whole bunch of us (15) out there who will be a readymade rail support team, nothing like a bit of support both of the rah rah type and an ear to bend to help keep focussed and relieve the tension.

We"ve got 2 in the main event both qualified through stars from our local community, Danny and Matt with APATs own Max Ward from the UK open. Who knows we might twist Des's arm to stand a couple of celebratory rounds.

There are a couple of members in tonights Stars final, could be a good one.

good luck to those already there and those still trying to make it.

Jon Woodfield (Jon MW) has qualified to play the Razz event via an Inisde Edge satellite, and we hope to follow his progress through that event where possible.

I fly out to Vegas on 15 June for 2 weeks.  I plan to play in 1 or maybe 2 of the hold em side events and then try to satellite in other events whilst I am there.  Will be online so will post progress here to let you know how things are going.

Good luck to all APAT members playing at WSOP.

I will be there from June 20th - 28th. I will definitely be playing one event and maybe two... depends on how I do in a 5 man STT, on Virgin, Wed evening - 1st & 2nd get $4k WSOP package!!

I will also be playing one or two events in the "Inaugural Binions Poker Classic".

I saw this in WPT magazine, same events as WSOP but at a tenth of the buy in, will definitely be checking this out, might see you there.

It"s not an exact mirror of the WSOP schedule, but along those lines. Full schedule is here - http://www.binions.com/gaming/poker_classic.html

I expect to have my laptop there, I"ll PM you, here or on blonde, and maybe meet up and have a beer.

Best of luck to all of you playing out there.  Especially Jon & Max.
