I am going to try and do a form of live update this evening, in advance of the August onlinefest.  I have no idea whether this will work, or be of interest, but the plan is to focus on a "feature table" holding one of the rankings favourites, for 10 to 15 minutes before moving on to another.

Please bear with me, I may abort half way through if the delivery does not feel right!

Tonight"s first feature table....Mark Donnelly (dougal7878).  We will pick up the action in ten to fifteen minutes time after I do the hellos....

Welcome to the first online series live update.  For our first ten to fifteen minutes, we are going to focus on rankings leader dougal7878 - Mark Donnelly,

Mark is on table 7 at the moment, in seat nine.  He is currently sitting with $3610, so has lost some ground early.

Sitting with Mark is:

seat 1 - morrisod
seat 2 - sharky_uk
seat 3 - Clairep75
seat 4 - fizix87
seat 5 - ghc_star
seat 6 - sjuice/me, who is sitting out
seat 7 - Mair38
seat 8 - cw06840

Looking at the leaderboard, it"s great to see Irish Amateur Championship runner up Brendan Hartnett - ericstoner, currently in first position with over 10k chips.

Meanwhile, back on table Donnelly, sharky_uk - gold medalist from two weeks ago, is setting the pace with over 7.5k in chips.  Donnelly sits with 3.5k.

Donnelly gets in a pot with morrisod and sharky_uk.  Raising 180 pre flop, he is called by both.  The flop comes down and a 680 raise takes the rankings leader back to 3.9k.

Mair38 takes a nice pot of just over 1k.  An  :as: on the turn took her ahead of morrisod whose paired  kc had led on the flop.

Couple of big hands on table Donnelly.

Donnelly raises to 150 and is called by 4 players!

morrisod bets 300 on a flop of  jh td :2d:, which is called by ghc_star and Donnelly.

Turn  8h

morrisod raises 500, only to be reraised to 1500 by ghc_star.  Donnelly folds.
morrisod calls....

River  9h is checked by both.....

The showdown sees the 4650 pot going to ghc_star with trip 2"s, beating morrisod"s two pair of jacks and eights.....
