Any Info On London Poker Events On Friday 23rd October 2009
« on: October 09, 2009, 09:08:42 AM »
Can"t make the APAT event that weekend, as in London to catch Green Day at the O2 on the Saturday but will have Friday night to kill and so was wondering if anyone knows of any games going on, on the Friday night at the Vic, Loose Cannon or Gutshot, as would like some sort of game while I"m down there.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

... The International normally runs a £10 re-buy - crazy before the freezeout - last friday 87 runners and c£3900 in the pot ...

The Loose Cannon seems to have gone very low stakes these days ...

What is your budget/remit ... I am in Scotland on that day.

Green Day - great memories of seeing them at Wembley Arena c2002 - just played Dookie/Warning - moshpit was fantastic ... 02 ... never been ... too big?? (Are you standing?)

Do I hate The International. Last time I was there, I played a £30 rebuy satellite for a £1,000 main event. Didn"t want to risk spending a lot so played the tightest game ever. Played two hands in 90 min rebuy period. Folded everything until I got AQ. Raised, reraised, all-in PF, well ahead, lost. Folded everything until QQ just before end of rebuys. Same again - well ahead, lost. Rebought & took add-on. KK on BB soon after. Button raised, I reraised and he shoved with A7. You know the rest. Played three hands, AQ, QQ, KK & lost them all. Despite the plan to play really tight I was £120 down. Played cash, incl 72 game. Paid £5 to some bugger who got it and then I got 72 on the button and limped in. Five to the flop - JTT, everyone checked to me, I bet, everyone folded and .................. the stupid dealer mucked my cards. 7 was shown but not the 2 and the other players refused to pay up. Mangy feckers. Silly cow cost me £40.
5th place - Portsmouth Snooker Club £10 rebuy

Thanks for the input.

Would prefer a freezeout if possible, as we prefer to do our dough on the beer at the gig and we are standing of course!!!!  ;)

Also off to Manchester the following week to see them again!!!!!

Does anyone know if the Vic has anything on?

That is a bit odd!!

It does get busy - but i"m sure that it is pretty un heard of to turn away people that are there to gamble, you may have to wait to get a seat at a cash game or the tourny may fill - but it shouldnt be a problem!
