DTD kind to APAT members ?
« on: January 17, 2010, 02:44:29 AM »
Just seen the results for todays "Extra Super 50" at DTD, taking 3rd spot is one "Charles Mason", our Charlie by any chance ?

If so, well done Squire, nice result !

Ty mustn"t grumble, it is my lucky place.

Nice touney but the structure was a little fast. Got lucky when down to about 30 players shoving  ac 7h into  :as: kd (sound familier), I had complete misread and stood to leave not seeing a  7d on the board for me to scoop  :o . Post bubble my  ad1 6s also out drew an  ac jh (standard - Apologies).

I got to the final table with about 340K out of the 2.2M in so took my time and let the 3 shorties battle it out to the rail. It was pretty standard shovefest stuff with few flops, I lingered with a 200K stack for some time 3 handed and was trying to find a spot,  kd ts looked ok to me on the button but I couldn"t spike and K this time and the BB  :as: ts took it down.

The last two were fairly even in chips and decided to chop the remaining prize pool on my departure.

Few words about the standard of play, frankly I thought it was awesome, I saw some really great action. Chap who laid down KK with ease, people laying down top pair-top kick to threatening boards etc! It goes to show me that at my regular buyin level there are some excellent players, when I look back at my GUKPT GF experience I witnessed some terrible play by Pro"s who should know alot better!

Cheers to DTD where again they provide (with the exception of APAT) the best value for money and simply the best poker experience IMO!

There"s a regular group I play with and are thinking of heading down there in a few months time.

Could anyone recommen hotels for a 2 night stay (Friday/Saturday).

Probably play in the Friday £25, £1500gtd then on Saturday either the £50 deepstack or one if the evening tourneys (bankroll withstanding)

Well done charles....when i played the 20-20, it became a bit of a shove fest with 2 tables left. Bit of a pity really because the first 5 or 6 levels were very decant with lots of play.
I wonder what its like in the monthly deepstack £300 buyin. Does anyone know if there is still room for leverage when in the very late stadges and or near the final table. thanks.
