Newmarket July meeting
« on: July 07, 2010, 03:32:16 AM »
fwiw here are my selections....

1.30 Miss Zooter
2.00 Take Ten - on his 2yo form i can see value but his 3yo campaign upto now has been a right stinker , plus wise he has put up his best performances on GtoF ground over 6f..
A replay of a 2nd that he got in his 2yo campaign to Society Rock [Rob S. will recall the rock]
http://www.chroma.premiumtv.co.uk/streaming/watch/RacingUKFlashVOD/partnerId_166/videoFileId_6779706/clipId_1398965/index.html
2.35 Soraaya - has to beat Memory , but i like to take a punt with possible improvers and this Channon trained Al Maktoum owned filly fits the bill , nice debut at Hamilton straight into this company hmm , but the Albany winners [memory] have a good record in the Cherry Hinton so i"m only having a little flutter.. :)
3.10 Lillie Langtry
3.35 One of the hottest maidens of the summer WITH NEXT TO NO FORM to go by , i"ll watch with interest the Hannon runners as well as Meehan"s,Morrison"s and John Dunlop"s debutants..
4.20 hmmm sitting this one out ... :)
5.30 a long wait for the last race so i"ve backed 2 - Secretive and New Christmas

good luck all..........

Heres mine, again fwiw!

1.30 Miss zooter
2.00 Kingsgate Choice - this horse is group class, just a slight worry that he is more suited to 5 furlongs at the moment, right man on board though.
2.35 Hooray - taking a chance on this, think Memory will win, but this ran better than the result suggests at Royal Ascot and will definately improve again
3.10 Special Duty - very open race, not at all confident (edit: Rainfall might be the better bet EW)
3.45 No bet - Pointless without seeing the market form, see El Muqbil is among the favourites, never understand why they continue to back Meehans horse"s or their debut, his ALWAYS improve a lot from their first run
4.20 Nationalism - Again market important but this one had a very nice debut and can make experience count
5.30 Thabit - also look out for Hurricane Hymbrook at a massooooove price (50/1 this morning)

good luck all

Woohoo, had a late bet on Folly Bridge when i saw the money come for it, win and a place at 12.5 on betfair! lovely start!

Miss Zooter got a shocker of a ride, never given a chance

I backed David Proberts 2 mounts earlier this morning, 2 x EW singles and an EW double, took early prices,
20/1 & 33/1. Fireback wins, Jake the Snake a non runner.
What a shame , lol
The trouble with having an open mind, is that, someone will come along and insist on putting something in it

decided to back Music Show on the back of Tom Segal tipping it up in his Pricewise column, cheering it over the line like crazy, only to find i had backed it to place twice instead of to win and to place....absolutely sick!
