Super Friday at Newbury and a top class card;

Be interesting to see what Sprinter Sacre and Long Run do - really tempted to take them on with Nicholls and Wlash (great record in the races) but the odds on jollies may bolt up (so a watching brief)

Therefore will be getting stuck into the handicap hurdles;

1.15 Sire De Grugy
2.25 Global Power

12.40 - Tidal Bay - a small win bet, he had a breathing operation before this season and PN has a knack/good record with horses he has done this with before in the past, as long as the early pace isn"t to slow then this old boy may cause a upset plus i fancy taking long run on :)
13.15 - Desert Cry ew , Third Intention & Empire Levant - 2 small win bets

Sprinter Sacre looked frightfully top class Tje when he won the Wayward Lad Novices Chase at Kempton, he should and can totally pi#s it [sorry] win today with ease, not a tempting price today for me though...

Very very very impressive - outstanding jumper.  One of the best displays by a novice chaser in years.  Looks a shoe in for the arkle but they may be tempted to go for the Champion Chase - he would surely go close

Long run was workmanlike but still a good prep for the Gold Cup - he will appreciate the extra 2f at Cheltenham and the stiffer finish

Great run by Burton Port in 2nd - staying on all the way to the line.  If connections can get him to Aintree for the Grand National he will be a major player

This was a strange race.  No pace early on so they quickened dramatically from 6f out but in the end Zarkander out stayed them at the finish.  Like many triumph hurdle winners looks like he needs further than 2 miles to show his best - however still a great performance to win first time out and still unexposed and should come on for the run.  Can"t have him for the champion hurdle though as the record of 5yos is dreadful (even if last years juvenile crop look very good) - Aintree hurdle would be the natural race for him this year

LOL, the accumulator was a disaster, but had a few other winners this afternoon, so all"s good.

Need to properly have a look at Cheltenham cards.
