having doubled the stake on Seeking Magic and Ninjago, the profit today was +19 points thanks to Double Bluff and Intrinsic..

so that makes the festival points total a grand total of +53.6 points

donkey fred total overall at +254.68 points

nice to see Wayne having a good day, don"t fritter those profits sir :)
Achim and Leigh a very well done, the ebor meeting is the next one to look forward to....

the best 2nd of the week for myself has to be Extortionist, having done some rough guesstimate maths on the ground he lost having angled across the track over a furlong from the 2f to the 1f point [and took into account Take Cover]
Extortionist gave TC 3 to 5 metres best guesstimates, don"t be surprised if they meet again that placings are reversed in similar conditions...
others to note from today for the future were Eastern Belle and Second Step....

You should put a website together and sell these tips  ;)

lol does anyone follow my tips on here?  :)

i wanted to put up a video with youtube but it doesn"t work? does it no longer work on APAT?

Just looked at the write ups from the Betting Emporium that Neil Channing does. (They release them on the site once the meet is over to everyone).  Their tips were 240pts down for the week. (I think I"ve read that correctly).

I think they were well up on their picks previously though, so just a bit of variance.   ;D

thanks for that Leigh, i"ve never seen that.... when i get time on my hands i"ll go through this fred from the start and see how it would of performed if i staked it like i do now... there are some humdingers tucked away from what i recall from memory - Homecoming Queen 1000 Guineas 33/1, Tiddliwinks in the Duke of York at 40/1 and it won at 25/1 and left a few scratching there heads afterwards, Rite of Passage in the Ascot Gold Cup at 20/1 and Moyenne Corniche 25/1 in the Ebor, Dirar in the Ebor the year before, theres a couple of Chester Cup winners in there i"m pretty sure plus there is Arctic Cosmos who won the Ledger who i kept on plugging in the fred before Ascot... wowser :)  and quite a few more...

thanks Achim i shall keep an eye out on those, i"ve always kept to UK, French and American racing but i should be looking to broaden my horizons to German racing as well in time...

a checklist for Wayne ;) for non muggie type bets...
the rules are fairly simple, although all the fundamental rules begin with never, one can break the odd rule when you gain more experience to know when to chance breaking the rule.. ;) [if that makes sense?]

1] Never back a horse unproven on the going.... [speaks for itself]

2] Never back a horse unsuited to a track... [best form over uphill tracks now tackles a sharp track like Chester for example]

3] Never back a horse ridden by a jockey with a poor track record... [Goodwood a great example this week]

4] Never back a horse whose trainer has a poor track record.... [you know this one already Wayne :) cough cough Epsom]

whether using these basic guidelines to whittle a race card down to its contenders OR using them with a view to laying a favourite for instance who"s unproven on the going, these simple rules will steer you clear of many a donk :) and hopefully set you or anyone else interested in horse racing on a profitable path...

and one final thought that all poker players understand deep down - Never bet beyond what you can afford and do not under any circumstance attempt to make or chase your fortune/profit all in one day... always remember it is all about the long run, and in capitals ITS ALL ABOUT THE LONG RUN.....

Observations from the Betting ring at Goodwood last week.

Punter had £3k each way on Sennockian Star in the 1st race. (14/1 winner.)
Same guy had Even £5k on the next fav. (got beat).
Was betting in hundreds by the end of the week!

On the last day a different punter had £25k on Barnet Fair. (7/1 winner from much bigger prices).

Think I"m going to have to bet a bit bigger myself in future!!

Tip for today.....Chevallier @ 5/1 each way. 2.40 Newbury.
The harder I work,
The luckier I get.
