North Norfolk 50,000 Chip Deepstack
« on: September 15, 2010, 11:47:08 AM »
We are holding a 50,000 deepstack tourney in October if anyone local, or not so local is interested in playing.

We are a friendly bunch out here in Norfolk and would welcome anyone wanting to join our Poker get together.

It will be held on Sunday 10th October 2010 with a 2.00pm start, at Holt United Football Club, Holt Sports Centre, Kelling Road, Holt, Norfolk, NR25 6RT.

Starting stacks are 50,000 with 25 minute blinds starting at 25/50.

The buy in is £30.00 with a small deduction from this to cover the buffet that is provided.

Seats will be limited to around 24 (we may be able to squeeze a couple more in at a push) due to chips in play and we currently have 18 confirmed entrants.

If anyone is interested in taking part in a cheap and friendly deepstack tourney, then please let me know.

Andy

NP...but you might want to clarify the "small deduction"...what is small to you, might not seem small to others.

I always prefer to show things as "Buy-in" + "Extra"...so £28+£2 or whatever. Saves arguments about prize-pools and suchlike.

Having played in a few of these myself I can answer this...... This is organised by people who enjoy playing poker so much so that they willingly get up and spend 2 or 3 hours that morning making sandwiches, preparing salads, cakes, chocolate ready for the game in the afternoon with no financial gain to themselves. All they do is re-imburse food costs.

So be assured no-one will be dissapointed or ripped off!!!

Believe me...I wasn"t implying anything...just stating a preference for clarity. I"ve seen more arguments raging over "included" buffets for a "nominal cost" and the like than I care to recall.

If I was anywhere near, I"d be in here for this...I loves me a good deepstack.

They are enjoyable events, although some of our entrants like to bet in relation to the chips they hold rather than what the blind levels are  ::)

BLINDS: 25sb 50bb (obviously the minimum raise is 5000 chips)  ;D lol.

Oooo...valoooo.

Yeah...with a decent structure, 50k would take ages to finish. I"d be interested in seeing the blind structure.

That"s sexy...but I have a couple of comments if you don"t mind.

I"d lose Level 7 which will enable you to remove the 25 chips after level 6.

Level 11 would be better as 1200/600
Add in a new level 12 as 1600/800

Other that it"s not bad although the jump from level 16 to 17 is HUGE.

To be honest, I"ve found the APAT structure (without antes) is pretty damn good for most events.

50K is a monster starting stack and, if you will, a more "sensible" stack (say 25k and 30 mins) but easier level jumps work better and provide more "play"

Do I have a choice?  ???

Obviously not :-\

Level 11 would be better as 1200/600

::)

Add in a new level 12 as 1600/800

2 level 12"s interesting

Other that it"s not bad although the jump from level 16 to 17 is HUGE.

Knew there"d be a but!!!!  ;D

To be honest, I"ve found the APAT structure (without antes) is pretty damn good for most events.

OK but it"s not an APAT event  ;)

50K is a monster starting stack and, if you will, a more "sensible" stack (say 25k and 30 mins) but easier level jumps work better and provide more "play"

;D When was the last time you played in North Norfolk!!!!! and then I would have to change the title of the thread to 25,000 DeepStack

Any advice on the sandwich fillings???  ;)

2c.

Congrats to all who cashed on Sunday and bad luck to those of the 63 that didn"t make the money this time but better luck in December.
