Portugal is looking more and more likely.

Trying to squeeze in a Las Vegas Trip immediately after would have been a little problematical as it would have meant being away from work for 3 weeks or so. The boss sort of frowned when I promulgated that idea.

So...what to do. Move the Vegas trip, of course.

Although it will probably mean missing out on all of the previous possible trips (LA, Commerce Casino, Breeders Cup, Road Trip...or coinciding with Ger in November) I think it makes more sense to move to the end of December.

I"ve never been in Vegas over the New Year and I hear that the Strip can be a blast on 31/12 around midnight.

As it works out it look like I can manage 3 weeks away then as the office is closed over Xmas/New Year anyway.

Current plan is to head out on Monday 17th December and return 3rd January (Landing 4th).

Hotels: Still pricing / playing with dates but it look like I can do:

Harrahs: 17th - 23rd for a lousy $33 a night
Venetian: 24th - 28th for a $355 plus a couple of hundred thousand flight/hotel points which are wasting away.
Orleans: 29th - 2nd for around $107 a night. (Prices are jacked due to NYE but hey-ho).

Still, if my sums are right that"s 17 nights for around $66 (£43) a night.

Obviously the Venetian might be a bit tricky as I have to be careful in using the points but I think it"ll be worth it.

Ger also likes, I am not tied to any dates..... (although 3 weeks away working for a retail company at Xmas might be problematical)

Joobs and I also like this - especially if I can persuade the awesome one to fly cattle class...

M"eh what the point of going to Vegas over New Year. It will be cold :-)

Only joking mate sounds like a trip and a half, where you going for new year? I wonder if there would be fireworks :-)

Frankly, I"m not really bothered about being on the Strip for New Year"s Eve other than being able to say "Yeah, been there, done that!"  ;D

I"d definitely try and lock up a spot with a decent view, preferably somewhere I can get a seat and with a drink in my hand. Milling about in the crowds is a young man"s game....and I"m too old for that sh*t!

Planning for the rest of the year continues...at least in my head, if nowhere else.

Cardiff...Locked
Cork...Locked

I"m tempted to make an appearance at Blonde Bash this year but finances may not permit what with Curlage"s Vilamoura trip being a priority for me.

ECOAP...I fancy the Stud and Omaha..not sure about the ME but I suppose if I"m there.

September is Chezger...not one to be missed.

Glasgow...apparently I"ve booked the hotel already. Heh.

December...The venue TBA...could be cool but until its confirmed by Tighty I"m not holding my breath...which will lead nicely into...

Vegas.

Looks like my brother will be doing November which I really think is not an option for me. I mean, it"s nice to have him out there but, in all honesty, our interests are different enough that even when we"re there at the same time I hardly ever see him.

After that it"s Luton which is an easy "get", assuming the London Poker Meetup can get a team up. Oh, and it"s my Birthday weekend...I"m just saying.

February....I"m mulling, funds permitting, another group trip...Curlage sort of stole my thunder with Vilamoura on this but something similar, I think we"d get a few.

The WCOAP is a given in March.

Frakk...here I am planning for nearly a year ahead...Lords of Kobol, I"m getting old.  ;D

I have to write up Cardiff for the record if nothing else as very little of interest happened. ;D

However, sometime over the weekend, I think, I managed to pass Kinboshi in the post count.

Expect a barrage of sudden, very short, posts from our first ever APAT Champion.  ;D

Redfern...you"re next!

Would you accept the offer of a mod"ship?

We would be honoured and you would then get to see the ropes and chains in the back office, that young Phil"s been greasing of late.

He"s going to be seeing enough of a greased up Phil later this week.

Heck, if we"ll let Barber in, the Duke can only be an improvement.
