How did you choose your APAT forum name ???

I am intrigued to know how some members came about their APAT forum name.  For example, Steve and his AMRN

Mine is rather obvious...

But for those who do not know me, my better other half is HaworthBantam

I"d just had the first operation on me back and was laid up for a goodly long while.  Downloaded a poker site to play free chips poker and first thing they were looking for was an alias.  WTF?!  Sat there stumped for ages as I was up to me eyeballs on meds and couldn"t think straight.  lol  About the time I"d planned to give up and shut down the computer a friend walked in.  She"d been great to help out while I was stuck in bed.  Groceries, house work, cooking...you name it.  Only for her.  Anyway, Colleen is from a townland near here called Laxie (pronounced Lox - eye) and that was that.

I have an interest in astronomy (nothing geeky and I don"t even own a telescope unfortunately), and Quasar originates from that. Wish I"d picked something else now though!



A quasi-stellar radio source ("quasar") is a very energetic and distant active galactic nucleus. They are the most luminous objects in the universe. Just in case you were wondering  ;D

My name came about due to the fact that my wife, then girlfriend had her 1st toy, a stuffed cat which slept beside her each night replaced by me. The toys" name was Pables (sounds like DABBLES) so I became Pables.
She is looking everywhere hard to get the cat back and replace me  :"(

I used to play Tight End in the UK American Football league

People assume it"s because I am tight at Poker. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.
