Division 1 here we come!
Another great night and another win for Notts saw us secure promotion to the top flight of APAT's National Online League.
Another very good turnout of 14 Notts players managed to overturn the numerical advantage enjoyed by the mighty Luton and their 19 players.
Kevin Shutt (xZukertort) led the way, taking the tourney down, ably assisted by newcomer Matt Poyser (burgerchee5e) in 4th, Jack Prime (sambarnbrac) in 5th and Bal Powar (shozboy x) in 6th. Simon Gordon (Tiger-flash) also had a deep run on just his third outing and was unlucky to miss out on a final table points finish.
The next game is on Sunday 9th January at 8pm on Betfair as ever. We have a really, really remote chance of pipping Luton to the Division 2 title. We"d need to win (not that unlikely on current form
) and Luton to finish outside the top 3 (that"s the unlikely bit!). We would then be level on points with Luton with the same number of wins, 2nds and 3rd place finishes! In this case it comes down to the two clubs" tallies of individual player points. Here again the odds are stacked against us. We have amassed 102pts, Luton have 127.
Although, after the last game of last season, I won"t say it"s impossible for us to win the Division, but it is very close to it! But hey, let"s give it a bash!
In the event we did finish top, our top 4 points scorers would receive seats at APAT live events worth £250 each.
