I wont bore you but yet another bad beat sends me packing.

Suprised only a turn-out of 55 considering rumours were the main event was going to attract a field in the 1000"s.

see yer tomorrow at 8pm.

The first two sats will be quieter, but we will send an email to promote the last two.

Why not send an email to promote the first two?? I might have played last night if I had known!  ???

Blue Sq sent out an email linking players to a BlueSq/APAT page and Satellites are mentioned in the introduction at http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=719.0

No mention of the Satellites in the new PokerPlayer though I noticed last night ... ? Just of the $100+$10 Direct Buy-In on page 13.

Ready for Sat #2 - GL all 69 of us.

Same as last night - KQ lost to QQ. I was short stacked and card dead - it had to be done.

GL all, see most of you on Thursday night.

Anyone for a $10 SNG?

Have you any idea how much junk mail I get from online poker rooms?

and Satellites are mentioned in the introduction at http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=719.0

If all of the above is deemed adequate promotion then why send an email prior to the second two?

I was simply curious why there was no reminder before the first two satellites... the online championship series are regualr events but they still get an email reminder (not sure if it"s for every one of them) as well as a topic started both here and on blonde (and poss THMF?).

Just a simple explanation of the rationale behind the decision would suffice.  :P

The rationale is simple enough.

Promoting any event 3 or 4 days out is a waste of time (as you know, some people forget!), so the ideal promotion of these events would have seen an email promoting the first two satellites on Saturday evening last, an email promoting the second two satellites on Wednesday evening and an email promoting the OnLive event itself on Saturday.  Three emails in a week is at least one (probably two) too many, hence our dropping the first.  The other two will happen.

Throw into the mix further email communications around the UK event (pre & post) on December 8th & 9th and the Regional event and OnLive final table (pre & post) on December 15th plus Online Series events happening during that time and you might be able to appreciate why we cut back on emails where possible.
