Cheers for railing Debs, glad I made it to cash but shame about the end result and $41 for the hard work lol.

True Ger, been a bit of a rough time lately. Thankfully made use of my royal flush chips to build enough to cash in 14th, with the help and encouragement of the lovely Debs.....and winning a race against a shortie for a change with 5/6 v 3/3  :D

Tonights experience went a bit like this.......played a couple of 5c/10c tables and got up to $26 & $15 dollars in a pretty short spell, trip 5"s becoming a FH against a flush helping the cause. Someone joins the former to my right with half buy in and starts to go a bit aggro, every few hands just shoving all in pre when no raise came in before him :D After stealing a few blinds and on his BB I deliberately limped utg with  ah qh , 2 others limped along before he reached for both barrels and in went his $5+ so I immediately shove behind, one of limpers punts his last $3+ behind and cards go over. Villain has  kd  7c and limper has  :as:  8h

Flop comes  ad1  qd  7h , life is good but turn and river provide 2 more diamonds and villain almost trebles up  :D Never mind, such is life and all that, I"ll get it back from him pretty soon, no probs.......he immediately left the table! Lost another pot on other table soon after with AA v JJ all in on turn with 10 high board and three hearts with ace in my hand, obviously other player binked J diamonds on river. Decided to end the cash games a while later with a little added to the bankroll.

Played the usual $22 tourney at 11.15, played like a clown, went out 70th & no more poker for me for the night  ;D

Feeling pretty sick right now in $22 game, just been runner-runnered to consecutive straights against shorties when i held dominating hands against them with KQ v KJ and QJ v Q10. Amazingly I"m still in tourney, now 15th of 25 from 116 starters but should be up with the big stacks  >:(

Ah well, 2 hours of solid play to build a nice stack, outdone by 2 sick outdraws and I"m out 18th with top 15 cashing. Ever played really well at golf but your ball continuously hits the wrong bit of slope or divets and ends up in a bunker or rough. Kinda how frustrating poker is at the moment for me.

Was cursing the fact that my usual $22 game at 11.15 was bombed due to Betfair maintenance so decided for a bit of a laugh to join the madness of the Betfair freeroll, after bombing out the Furness friendly.

To cut a long story short....from 680 runners I put in my best performance of 2011 to finish 2nd for the almighty sum of $2.04  :D

Got a request for jury duty through 2 weeks ago for this morning so came in from work last night after midnight and didn"t really see any point in playing due to early rise. Got up at 7.30 am plenty of time for 9.30 show at court, drove 15 mile round trip into town, pay £3 parking (which I"m now told I can"t claim back  ??? ) walk rest of the way and go through security check at court.

Hand my jury citation over at reception desk and receptionist enquires "Did you call the jury line last night sir?"
"Yes" says I, "Unfortunately the wrong message was on the automated reply" says he "and you won"t be required today"

What a complete waste of feckin time, energy, fuel and money.....not to mention the fact that I"m working again till midnight tonight and probably need to go through the process again tomorrow  ::)

I was supposed to do Jury service a couple of years ago but due to work I was unable to attend. It was the Coroners court (is that spelt right) the trial lasted 3 months  :P
