That"s my paperwork caught up with, and also replies to a few other business related matters.

Outstanding merchandise is packaged and at the post office.  Waiting on one address to send the last batch of medals out.

Should be a chilled afternoon of horse racing and poker.  I might be turning into a degenerate gambler ?  *

* Very unlikely, too much of a prudent accountant in me for that to ever be the case.  Shove everything you own on red or black, just for the thrill of it.  I don"t think so.

Just beaten my Sky Poker Bounty Hunter record.

Out in 2 hands.

First hand, big blind can"t give up his KJos on a Ace high, flushing board.  Not a problem, I lose 550, and am down to 1450.

Second hand, a raise to 60 UTG, I"m on the button with AA.  I raise to 200, it gets called.


Flop 3 7 9

He checks, I pot bet, he shoves, I call.

He"s got 66

Turn 4

River 6

Hmmmm, maybe I haven"t fully appreciated the complexity of this hand.  What would be your thought process here John ?

Perhaps I should put it up on the strategy board for consideration ?


I"m guessing I should be able to predict the obvious river card, and get out of the way.  There"s going to be better spots to shove for my tourney life.

Think I"ve cracked it.

I"ve switched to the Hot-O-Meter view on Sky Poker, and am following the instructions.

It"s going well at the moment.  Already won a bounty and have more than twice my starting stack.

I just don"t get it.

The Hot-O-Meter said I was "On Fire" with my  ah qh

A raise from a shortstack followed by a clear isolation shove from a larger stack.  I"m on the button, and I"m "On Fire".

In go my 3.4k of chips.  It"s irrelevant what cards the other two have because I"m "On Fire".

Shortie has KJ, Bigstack has QQ.

Hmmmmm, "On Fire" you say.  Not a problem, bound to hit an ace.  Everyone hits an ace, and they"re probably not "On Fire".

King high flop, but I have outs.  An ace is good, and I now have a gutshot aswell.  Not a problem, because I"m "On fire".

MISS, MISS.

My fire is well and truly put out.   :D
