Early night for me then.

Disappointed of Dorset.

The standard is much tougher now than it was a couple of years ago.

Going to try and play a few of the cheaper buyin events.  Have done okay in some of the satellites for the bigger events, but will be continuing to take the T$"s.

Good luck to any APATers taking part.

Day One

Event   Buyin     Name   Finishing  Pos
1   Reload Ticket     $22 NL Hold'em [6-Max]   22413rd/44787
2   $12 Satellite     $33 NL Omaha Hi/Lo   2388th/4584
3   $39 Satellite     $134 NL Hold'em [Knockout]   2691st/5561
4   Direct     $33 NL Hold'em   2259th/9877

Nothing much to talk about here.  Finished in top 25%-50% of them all, but never really got started.  Some shocking calls (mainly due to the desperation of players with turbo tourneys) and not winning a race (especially when my tourney life is at stake).

Onwards and Upwards.

Anyone got any quick advice for PL Draw.  Never played it, but quite fancy giving it a go at 1pm today.

Pay attention to how many cards people draw and their betting patterns
Position is as important as in NLHE
2 pair is a bigger hand than you might think
Only bluff v players who know what their doing
Drawing 2 cards to a flush and hitting is not skill

^This, plus a quick starter guide from Mr Pables, means I"m ready and raring to go.  Bring it on.

Trying to think back to the days I used to play draw to give you some decent advice.

A lot of people hold onto a kicker when they have a pair i.e. draw 2 instead of 3. This doesn"t make sense mathematically as you increase your changes of improving by drawing 3. Also, if you do have trips then they can be disguised by only drawing 1 making it look like you are drawing to a flush or straight.

Depending on you opponents, standing pat with nothing and raising before and after the draw can be effective but do it too often and you will get looked up by someone whos been paying attention.

Vary your play. i.e don"t always draw 3 to a pair or 1 to trips.

I"ve played two satellites so far to practice a bit and had trip aces and trip tens beaten by a fullhouse each time where the player has drawn 2 cards.

Is that just normal ?

Hoping to play a few of the TCOOP events myself. Sadly the start times for most are too early.  :(

Are you joining us in Brighton?

Can"t make Brighton, so will have to wait for season 6 to make my "live" comeback.

Cool, be great to see you.

Good luck in the TCOOP. Sounds like you might need it in the draw!  :)
